There were so many. The wings were great. Ezekiel in Sam telling Dean he did right. Dean helping Sam deal with what the Tracy said. My favorite is how Dean opened up to Kevin and told him they didn't have very many family, but Kevin was one. I loved it.
I loved the scene where Ezekiel tells Dean that Sam knows that he stopped him from completing the trials because he loves him. Also the one where Dean tells Kevin that he's family. Last but not least, Samzekiel with the wings. That was freaking badass.
I find it telling that none of the scenes listed involve Sam, I thought the episode and the spoilers for further episodes indicate that Sam has become surplus to requirement and the writers would rather write for a Jared that isnt playing Sam than when he plays just Sam. They essentially could have killed Sam off in the premier and kept Jared on the show and it would have made more sense than to have Sam agree to live with no real reason to want to?
The part that stays in my mind is Sam with Zeke's wings..that was a very good CG, loved the crispy look. As a whole I enjoyed the whole ep...AGAIN. Have not a Kevin fan, but him telling the soldier how the cow ate the cabbage was great, he is getting better for me. Dean and Abaddon fight and Zeke telling Dean that Sam knows he loves him and he did the right thing.
Call me cynical but naturally Dean does the right thing and even if he doesnt we get so much Dean pov and feelings that all we want to do is hug him and feel for him. Sam has a individual entity is pretty much non -existent except when he is either being selfish or being used.
As much has I realize this is a great acting challenge for Jared and the Ezekiel plus wings was as hot as hell and a great scene , this sl does absolutely nothing for Sam .
Funny we have this same conversation every year. First half of the season is always dean-centric and second half sam-centric. Technically the Zeke/Dean scene is Sam. And the final scene in which Sam says he's happy for the first time in forever made the short list...
I'm not sure I agree, actuallty. To me, the jury is still totally out on whether Zeke has any ulteior motives that'll make it all explode in Dean's face--but even if he doesn't, I just don't agree that Dean DID do the right thing by letting Zeke possess Sam--and indeed by allowing Sam to be tricked into permitting it. I pretty much hated that plot development, not just because I'm sick and tired of the whole brothers lying to each other thing, but also because it's just flat-out bone-headed. When has possession, even by an angel, EVER been a good thing for the vessel? But then, I've been very disappointed with the whole way the closing hell's gate plot has been dealt with. . . .
It was either Dean letting Zeke possess Sam or Sam dying..I know Dean said one time he would rather Sam die human, but that was Lucy wanting to possess him. I am also not sure I trust Zeke to not throw a monkey wrench in the works, but that is going to be part of the fun of this season..is he or isn't he bad. lol
That's how it was sold, yes, but that in itself is for me one of the overarching problems between seasons. It was or ought to have been pretty clear from the bginning or very early on that the trials to close hell's gates would be fatal to the one doing them. Seems to me, in fact, that S&D were dead clear (no pun intended) on that from the get-go. But at almost the last possible second, we have a "whoops, Sammy's gonna die!" moment, so we pull out and leave the gates open? Ultra-lame. I suppose if you're willing to let the gates of hell stay open and leave the entire world open to ongoing demon incursions, there's not much you WOULD stick at, so comparatively speaking, saving Sam by letting an angel possess him might seem trivial-what the hell? why not? you already screwed up the thing you spent the entire last season trying to do, so why not violate another long-standing principle?--but I find the whole thing to be a pretty artifically-driven plot contrivance, and not something that I can buy as plausible character behaviour. That may just be me, of course, but nine seasons in I'm kinda chafing to see these guys actually learn something from their experiences. And I will be very, very, very suprised if this angel in Sam thing doesn't end up being a cure that's worse than the disease--at least until they come up with another inplausible plot contrivance to exorcise good ole Zeke.
Supernatural, which in its L+SD ratings was the most watched and highest-rated season premiere for the show in three years, saw an additional 27% boost in total viewers (3.29M vs 2.59M), a 34% jump in A18-34 (1.39 vs 1.04), a 30% increase in A18-49 (1.56 vs 1.2) and a 35% gain in W18-34 (1.67 vs 1.24).
i was surprised by how not ok i was with kevin crying.
it was in that moment that you really got a sense of how much kevin had lost and how lonely he must have been feeling. i think through kevin we get a chance to see not only how the life can tear you apart but also how it can bring people closer than ever. because nobody else really understands what kevin had been through other than dean, sam, and cas.
the pressure he was under and the pain of everything he's lost is a road the brothers have been walking for a long while now so it is so unbelievably sweet(?) to see how they react to kevin.
I really hope Dean's conversation with Kevin foreshadows a similar talk with Cas. The "we're family" has only been said in times of distress and I really want to see that sink in with Cas. I want him to have a chance to respond.
Dean and Zeke, Crowley is the junk in the trunk, Dean's chat with Kevin. Crowley interaction with Kevin was interesting. Kevin Solo was funny and Dean and Abbadon was black comedy. The wings was awesome and Sam and Dean at the end showed us insight :)
Dude I so agree with this I kind of think season was a wast of time they was both dead-set to close the gates to hell and then puss out on it REALLY? come on I am sorry but COME ON!
I am with you on the IS HE OR ISN'T HE bad on Zeke, but this is going to make interesting speculation for the season. Since really nothing in the series is plausible I just enjoy the moments with the brothers, not plausible was Sam not looking for Dean, but everything else I can just go along for the ride and not make it about "real" life. lol

Saskatoon werewolf! Especially because there was a Labatt's reference too! (Hey, what can I say, I'm Canadian. . . .)

ReplyDeleteSam going Zeke-mode. It's all about the tattered wings baby! Loved that scene. Missed Cas though :(

ReplyDeleteDean telling Kevin he's part of the family AND when Ezekiel, through Sam, opened up an angelic can of whoopass all over those demons!
ReplyDeleteThe scene with Kevin and Dean.
ReplyDeleteSuch a fantastic scene - great acting from both Chau and Ackles!
ReplyDeleteI loved the look on the demons faces! What the??? Where'd that angel come from?!
ReplyDeleteIt's likely to be the closes we get to the brothers telling each other they love each other - I think show loves us...

I loved her running her hand through his hair... she's a fangirl! LOL!
ReplyDeleteAgents Stark and Banner with Mr. Solo at HQ! I enjoyed the Sam/Dean/Kevin scenes and Zeke saying how Dean did what he did out of love aww.

When the broken wings came out of Sam ...... NICE!!!!!!!!!
ReplyDeleteWings and Dean telling Kevin he's family :)

Sam Zeke'ing out! Those eyes and wings...OMG!!!!!
ReplyDeleteI thought Chau did an incredible job - the scene was very moving...

When Zeke emerged, showed his wings, and saved Sam. The Zeke/Dean conversation was also good.
ReplyDeleteDude I so agree with this I kind of think season was a wast of time they was both dead-set to close the gates to hell and then puss out on it REALLY? come on I am sorry but COME ON!
ReplyDeleteIt can't be Lucifer, unfortunately.
ReplyDeletethe vampire going for an easy meal and then his head rolling off..
ReplyDeleteAnd now that he's "human" maybe it will have even more of an impact on him...
ReplyDeleteGreat scene! Loved seeing a female hunter kicking some butt!

ReplyDeleteMy favorite scene was this one (the part that has Zeke making a reappearance): http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cos0rbU2wXs
ReplyDeleteWhen Sam/Zeke was badass :0 ...Even if I still think it's it's Lucifer :)
