  1. That was a decent episode. Although some things did make me wonder - like why does Ariadne's brother think that he has to drug her to get her to safety? A real heart to heart or simply TALKING might have done the trick. I do understand he did it in her best interest, still....
You were right about the queen and the oracle. I loved the tension between them, this scene, imo, was the best of the episode.
Hercules' love of his beetle was maybe a bit stretched. I would have loved to see the poor thing to die in some kind of strange accident, but I assume they refrained from taking this plot line as it was the blatantly obvious. (Spiders seems to be very crunchy in Atlantis - that creature made a hell of noise when Pythagoras flattened it!)
Jason and Ariadne were cute enough, but is there some chemistry there? Not totally sold on that one.
All in all a good episode with some promise for a better story arch.
I do wonder if that beetle will get a nomination for best supporting actor at the next Oscars?

  2. Yeah, I'm not exactly sold on the budding romance between Jason and Ariadne either, really can't feel the chemistry as it stands. I'd be more interested if he suddenly fell for someone else and she became the baddie rather than Medusa if I'm honest, lol.

I agree that there were still problems in this episode, the brother drugging her being one of the main ones for me too. It's all a bit barbaric isn't it, I actually felt that the twist was going to be that he did do the crime he is accused of after all up until the end of it, and even now that wouldn't totally surprise me.

I did however like the beetle sub plot, it built on both Hercules and Pythagoras's characters and friendship away from Jason for me. I think that Hercules only saw it as a money maker rather than actually wanting to take care of it, which showed that he will always take the easy road/money making scheme rather than the more noble/hard working one which Jason and Ariadne and her brother were on in this episode. And, of course, this is also the route that Minos seems to have taken to the throne, so I found it to be quite a satisfying side to the episode as a whole.
