  1. Great promo, and just an opinion on my part i think James Spade's character and this new agent will have some kind of family relationship.

  2. NBC are doing a super job with video promos for The Blacklist. There's at least a dozen different clips out there now and most other new shows won't even have half that many

  3. I'm not sold on the female lead, though I'm sure James Spader will have fun in his role. She'd better not be his daughter- it would be such a predictable cliche. Hoping this isn't the next 'The Following'.

  4. I'm very much interested in this show. Can't wait for the premiere!

  5. Well, that is one hell of a way to be picked up for your first day of work.

  6. Well I think 90% of the people who see this promo are thinking that the twist will be that they are father and daughter. So lets hope for a different answer.

  7. Seems interesting !

  8. The promo looks great. James Spader is a great actor and plays creepy to the max. Megan Boone, I only know her from My Bloody Valentine and she really wasn't that great in that movie. Not sure how she will do in a tv show, but I am willing to give her the benefit.

  9. I think so too, even though I think it's totally cliché and I hate the idea, I'm pretty sure they're going to make them father/daughter.

  10. Now i know that you may think father/daughter will be cliche i think that it may be more of a good part from the producers. In this kind of series, family is not very well shown and to have that connection will be great. First because we will have a lot of new line to explore how she became to be FBI agent and maybe even how she will be seen in her job because of her connection with him. Second how this connection will work in professional level how will she treat him after she finds out and more importantly, how will this new Blacklist will be chased after that connection being revealed.

  11. I dislike the idea as a twist. Almost everyone who saw the post-upfront trailer back in May called those two being father/daughter. The one redeeming value I can see in the father / daughter thing is that, if she found out about the connection, Elizabeth would likely be forced to hide the information from the FBI. That could be interesting. Other than that, it's too obvious to be interesting.

Have you ever seen Boston Legal? Spader plays a lecherous nasty man with a a somewhat complex nobility. The man can pull of some great roles and I'm definitely looking forward to this. The only problem is I'm betting he's going to end up something like her estranged father, uncle, or somehow a rival of an estranged family member... something obvious like that.

  13. Yea its most likely that connection and I'm going in with the mind set of alright I am ok with that. And if it turns out its different hey that's even better.

  14. That would not be a twist at all. I am hoping she was the daughter of his biggest enemy and he is manipulating her in revenge.

  15. If they must go down the tired father-daughter route, then I would much rather the twist be that she knew the whole time and she and her father are working together to get something from the FBI.

  16. While that would be interesting it would likely blow up the procedural element of the show as well.

  17. Yes. I loved Boston Legal in the beginning and then it just started jumping the shark and I gave up on it. Spader is a great character actor of creepy/nasty men. I agree that he will probably end up being Megan Boone's characters relative somehow. These shows always do things like that.
