Scene Of The Week - September 8, 2013 - *POLL*

8 Sept 2013

A weekly feature in which we're trying to find most compelling, best acted, written, directed and just generally great scenes that we've seen recently.

BABY DADDY, "Surprise!", September 4, 2013, Actors: Jean-Luc Bilodeau, Derek Theler
The Scene: Danny calls out Ben on his behavior
Klutzy Girl:
Danny calls out Ben on his behavior towards Riley after Ben leaves her on the train. Danny's so selfless and all he wants is for Riley to be happy. It was an awesome moment.
Justyna Kubica: Something had to be said. I'm glad Danny finally called out Ben on his behavior. I mean, I really like Ben, he's a nice guy and pretty great dad, but sometimes he just ruins things, especially when it comes to Riley and he ends up hurting her. I just don't think he's the right guy for her. And Danny... Well, Danny has always been in love with Riley, always been her best friend and always protected her, from everything. I wish he could tell Ben and Riley how he really feels. Maybe things would have been different if he did.

BREAKING BAD, "Rabid Dog", September 1, 2013, Actor: Bryan Cranston
The Scene: Walt calls Todd
Alex Zhora:
The show has made an astonishing job in turning its main character into a villain protagonist. It goes even further here with Mr. White's getting ready to kill his spiritual son. I love how the camera rises higher and higher, indicating that Walt's soul is no longer here.

BURN NOTICE, "Sea Change", September 5, 2013, Actors: Jeffrey Donovan, Bruce Campbell
The Scene: Michael and Sam fight
A Dahne:
It was brutal to watch but so intense, outshadowing even Sonia pulling a gun on Fiona and then hearing the shot.

COVERT AFFAIRS, "I've Been Waiting for You", September 3, 2013, Actors: Piper Perabo, Christopher Gorham
The Scene: Annie and Auggie hurriedly get back together
Virginia Fontana:
Annie and Auggie hurriedly get back together just before Calder raids Auggie's apartment. It was so adorably rushed, fraught, yet sincere!
Justyna Kubica: I really like these two as a couple. It was a bit weird at first, but not for long. They work very well together. That's why I wasn't too happy when they just gave up so quickly after the story with Helen. They should have tried harder and now it looks like they will. It's definitely a good thing, since it sure seems like Auggie is gonna need all the help he can get. I also liked the scene, because even though it was a bit rushed, it felt right and well...genuine. Nice work by both of the actors!

GRACELAND, "Happy Endings", September 5, 2013, Actors: Daniel Sunjata, Brandon Jay McLaren
The Scene: Jakes demands the truth from Briggs
A Dahne:
Jakes demands that Briggs tells him what is going on and then decides to help him. Jakes has been criminally underused this season and to see all the history he and Briggs have together was awesome.

MELISSA AND JOEY, "What Happens in Jersey... (Part 2)", September 4, 2013, Actors: Melissa Joan Hart, Joey Lawrence
The Scene: Melissa and Joey have sex
Klutzy Girl:
They finally have sex. I've been waiting for something to happen for three years and I'm excited. Can't wait to see where this goes next.

RIZZOLI AND ISLES, "Judge, Jury & Executioner", September 3, 2013, Actors: Lorraine Bracco, Colin Egglesfield
The Scene: Angela finds out Tommy paid off her debt
Jamie Coudeville:
I was really surprised, I thought it was Jane and Frankie who paid it. I'm glad Tommy's finally growing up.

SIBERIA, "One by One", September 2, 2013, Actors: Neeko O.J. Skervin, Sabina Akhmedova, Miljan Milosevic
The Scenes: The natives confront Neeko, Miljan and Sabina & The group finds the dead bodies
DarkUFO:
End scene when the natives confront Neeko, Miljan and Sabina.
Sharon Seymour: The group at the abandoned test center finds the dead bodies.

THE BRIDGE, "The Beetle", September 4, 2013, Actors: Eric Lange, Alejandro Patino, Annabeth Gish, Alma Martínez
The Scenes: Aftermath of a car crash (flashback) & Cesar takes out the Bodyguard
Alex Zhora:
"The Beetle" opens with a nightmare-like sequence where big work lies largely on shoulders of Eric Lange, who absolutely nailed it. Also picked by Sharon Seymour
DarkUFO: Cesar takes out the Bodyguard and Charlotte impales Graciela.

UNDER THE DOME, "Speak of the Devil", September 2, 2013, Actors: Mike Vogel, Rachelle Lefevre, Colin Ford, Britt Robertson, Alexander Koch, Mackenzie Lintz, Dean Norris, Natalie Zea
The Scene: Jim shoots Max & Barbie saves Julia & Angie, Norrie, Joe and Junior see a hallucination of Big Jim
DarkUFO:
Jim shoots Max.
Justyna Kubica: I think my favorite scene was Barbie saving Julia. They are finally growing on me. I guess, it's easier to look at them as a couple when they don't have this huge secret between them. Also, everything he was doing in order to save her was just so impressive. That felt like a very powerful moment. Especially since Julia coming back to life also seemed connected to the dome somehow. I like the mystery, the love between the characters and great actors' performances in the scene. And that's why it's one of my favorites this week.
Klutzy Girl: Barbie saves Julia. I love their relationship and that was an awesome moment.
Jamie Coudeville: Angie, Norrie, Joe & Junior see a hallucination of Big Jim - This storyline is for me the main reason I watch. I kinda do hope Big Jim ends up dead because I really hate that guy. Also picked by Sharon Seymour

  1. Also, I really liked the entire episodes of Suits and Graceland, but I couldn't pick one specific scene from them that would stand out.

  2. Honorable mention: Auggie and Annie reunite. That was a pretty fast reconciliation!

  3. Breaking Bad: Jesse calls Walt and gets his swagger back (for now!). Agreed with the car crash Bridge scene that was beautifully filmed.

  4. Burn Notice for me ! the fight and the end of the episode !

  5. My third pick would have been Burn Notice with the gun off after we faded to black but I can only pick one scene per show. in the end, my votes go to Burn Notice, Graceland, and Rizzoli & Isles just because Tommy is so often seen as the screw up that it was nice for him to be able to do something the other 2 could not.

  6. Those were my favorite scenes of the week as well. I think this week's finale will be even more amazing though.

The whole episode was so damn good.

  8. I know! That's why I couldn't just pick one scene ;)

  9. Burn Notice - The fight between Michael and Sam

Melissa and Joey - Finally showed their feelings for each other in this week's episode, and of course the sex scene. Joey saying he liked her while rushing back to the house was sweet.

Under The Dome - Barbie saves Julia and the kids hallucinating Big Jim.

  12. That would be "Other" ;)
And what's your favorite scene from Rookie Blue?

  14. Angie, Norris, Joe, and Junior see Big Jim. Second choice is the opening scene of The Bridge, with Eric Lange.

  15. Annie & Auggie glad to be back together

  16. Breaking Bad has had consistent top scenes of the week since it came back for its final season, but this week it shared with Burn Notice. The fight and the confrontation between Michael and Sam was intense and well performed by both actors.

  17. Suits - Pearson Specter, finally! And all the scenes between Donna & Stephen.
    Breaking Bad - Skyler's "what's one more?".

  18. Burn Notice - That scene when Michael and Sam fight was amazingly done, but extremely hard to watch. The end of the episode was intense too, even though most of us already know how it turns out thanks to one particularly spoiler filled picture released a little while ago.

  19. I thought the Rookie Blue episode was pretty awesome from beginning to end, also. Well directed, tons of suspense, great romance. Just perfect.

  20. Rookie Blue: So many great scenes with a lot of suspenseful moments. The scene with the shooter at the beginning was perfectly filmed. Andy letting Sam know that she told Nick about covering for Marlo...I think this is the moment Sam realized that Andy and Nick were serious. Gail hooking up with Holly and the hilarious interaction with Oliver afterwards. Gail and Oliver responding to the "anonymous" call where the caller turned out to be deaf. Steve and Traci making some progress in their relationship. Every scene with Nick and Andy. Dov finding out that Chloe was married.

  21. Melissa and Joey was pretty awesome since we have been waiting a long time for Mel and Joe to get together. Loved Dome too because it moved so fast and we finally got rid of Max! But Barbie =(

  22. Melissa and Joey have sex of course!! That's the only one i care about!! It was awesome!! And Joey even chasing her and admitting that he likes her, and fighting for Mel was even more awesome!!! Can't wait til December!! It's gonna be great!!

  23. Suits is ALWAYS good, one of my favorite shows and my USA favorite. Took the place of White Collar, which for me lost a lot of steam last season.

  24. I started watching the series because Ben Bass was on it and kept watching for all the great acting and writing.
