People seem to believe the Emmy judges will remember non Modern Family comedies exist it hasn't happened the last 3 years can't imagine it will yet. Also these Emmys are for the first 8 episodes of Breaking Bad S5 not the current run - I think it will be more dominate next year and Homeland will continue its run of last year.

I want to see Mad Men and Parks and Recreation win it all, but I doubt they would even get one win.
ReplyDeleteI hope Breaking Bad wins it all. I love GoT and Homeland, but they can win next year. So Breaking Bad all the way!!!
ReplyDeleteI don´t watch any comedys.
Breaking Bad all the way in drama... All are good shows, but BrBa was just magnificent!
ReplyDeleteOn the comedy front, i'm not a big fan of TBBT(It's hilarious and yes, i watch it every week). My problem is with Sheldon, the writers just burned the character(Not Jim Parson's fault, but all his gags seems recurring... Wolowitz seems more funny for me, or Leonard). I'm not a fan of Balik either, i see her like a "female Sheldon"... For me, the female jewel of TBBT is Bernadette...
I was divided on the comedy front... I voted Louie for best comedy, Bateman for best actor, Amy Poheler for best actress... For supporting roles i voted Sofia Vergara(Don't watch MF, but i've seen a couple of episodes while traveling on a plane and she cracked me up!)... Supporting actors i didn't voted.
For the TV and film industry to get the message and move into the 21st century, House of Cards has to win as many Emmys as possible
ReplyDeleteThis is "Who do you think will win?" not "Who would you like to win?" poll.
ReplyDeleteHow do get your comment in bold? Just curious.
ReplyDeleteI think Breaking Bad is going to win all of them, especially since it is ending.
ReplyDeleteI am totally rooting for Game of Thrones, Jeff Daniels, Claire Danes/Kerry Washington, Peter Dinklage, Morenna Baccarin in the drama category.
Modern Family is a great show, i'd love to see it win. This time around, Sofia Vergara needs to win though. She's so great.
Otherwise rooting for Jim Parsons, Tina Fey, Ty Burrell.
TBBT--the jokes are hilarious, but if you think too hard you realize how pathetic these characters are. The men are too old for the situation, and the women have fallen for seriously immature men when they could be doing better. But yes, it's funny.
ReplyDeleteNo, we don't. Sincerely, the Academy.
ReplyDeleteThe problem with Breaking Bad is that people had not yet seen the current episodes when they were voting. And Stuff like Ozymandias will only be voted for in 2014.
ReplyDeleteI really do hope they get something this year, because as stupid as it may sound, voters might have forgotten about the show next year, since it will be off of tv for a long time.
But can we just talk about how awesome it is that Emilia Clarke got a nom for GoT? This is the first for a fantasy show in female categories in such a long time.
Breaking Bad and Game of Thrones have the same chances to win in drama!
ReplyDeleteComedy:
ReplyDeleteShow: Louie
actor: Matt LeBlanc
Supporting actress: Julie Bowen
Drama:
Series: I would love for Game of Thrones to win this year and Breaking Bad to win next year which it almost certainly will. I don't see any other show doing anything even close to what we have been seeing in Breaking Bad this year. But realistically, I think Breaking Bad or House of Cards has a better chance.
Actress: Claire Danes or Robin Wright
Actor: I would be really, really surprised Bryan Cranston doesn't win this one.
Supporting actress: I don't really have a prediction here but I would like Emilia Clarke to win.
Supporting actor: Jonathan Banks
Miniseries/movies:
Behind the Candelabra or Top of the Lake
Yep, i watch it just because i download the episodes(I'm from Argentina)... The truth is that TBBT stoped being what it used to(The Doppler Effect joke or the Schrodinger cat joke, for example...) on Season 1 and most of Season 2... The characters stoped growing(aside from Howard). Now it seems(The final run of episodes from last season) that they started to move on: Sheldon(who at the begining wasn't asexual) behavior or Raj finally talking to woman...
ReplyDeleteMy favourite comedyes is Community by far... Shame it never won anything besides one Emmy...
I want my House of Cards to slay, but I think Homeland or Breaking Bad will take the awards.
ReplyDeleteI don't think that Breaking Bad will win in so many categories... It will almost certainly happen next year, when the wonderful final episodes will be taken into account. But this year it's not so obvious, especially because Homeland had a great season finale and I think the academy will give something to House of Cards. Not only because of great quality of the series or the hype around Kevin Spacey's performance but also to prove that they 'noticed' the new method of broadcasting and don't ignore the show for that reason.
ReplyDeleteBreaking Bad can also win next year- (this year is for Season 5A, next year will be for Season 5B). That's said, even though I love Homeland as well, I hope BrBa wins!
ReplyDeleteWho I would like to win:
ReplyDeleteDrama Series: Breaking Bad (although I wouldn't be too upset if it went to Homeland)
Drama Actress: Claire Danes
Drama Actor: Bryan Cranston or Damian Lewis
Drama Supporting Actress: Anna Gunn
Drama Supporting Actor: Aaron Paul
you are right! Still, I hope BrBa wins. Claire Danes hopefully wins aswell, so Homeland will come home with something. :-)
ReplyDeleteI thought it was pretty good. There were parts that didn't work, definitely. But overall, it was a pretty good season. I am, however, worried about where the show is going from here.
ReplyDeleteI think Robin Wright may get the best actress Emmy. David Fincher could win for directing.
ReplyDeletewhy is Jessica Lange consistently the only individual to be nominated for american horror story? not that she isnt deserving... but what about some of the other talent on that show?
ReplyDeleteIm hoping Cranston and Paul take one home for their work on Breaking Bad
Maggie Smith for Downton...
and the win i really am hoping for but doubt will happen, though im glad to see she was at least nominated : Vera Farmiga as Norma Bates on 'Bates Motel" (I lived with crazy for a lot of years... and believe me, she nailed it... a brilliant performance )
I am also hoping that Behind the Candelabra pulls in a win for its mini series nomination.. and that Michael Douglas gets a win for his work in that picture
i hope that modern family wins
ReplyDeleteWe got what we hoped for! :-)
ReplyDelete:-) We sure did!! Yay!!
