I heard the show has a planned 6 seasons or so for the storyline. If they do get to end the story on their own terms and go a bit more serialized, I do hope Raylan and Boyd won't end up like Jesse and Walt did. Both have their own type of twisted chemistry (no pun intended) between the two protagonists but when Walt vs Jesse was somewhat logical to come up, Raylan and Boyd should totally be side by side, going all Tango & Cash (not the best example but meh :D)
Damn, I don´t want Raylan and Boyd futher apart. I want them to have MORE scenes together! These two are truely some of the best characters on TV, can´t wait for their return.
I always wonder how it will end with Raylan and Boyd I think they are in a better position right now than Jesse and Walt. Yes a lot of things have happened between them but nothing like letting a loved one die or poisoning a kid! I think what is always so interesting about them is how alike they are and how that irritates Raylan but fascinates Boyd.
I always kind of assumed the show would end with a final Raylan vs Boyd moment but I could also see them coming together to fight a bigger evil like they have in the past. I want Boyd and Ava to get out and be happy and Raylan to realise there is more to life than work and become a good father.
I know what you mean but then I think when they finally do reunite it will be a great moment like last season they were kept apart till episode 4 I think and it made for a bigger impact.
Though of Justified ever wanted to do a bottle episode and have 42 mins of Raylan and Boyd talking I would instantly declare it my favourite episode of TV ever ;)
In some ways, I think the inevitable easy rout would be to have a final showdown between them. I'd like the show not to take us in such a simple direction, and to complicate it by crossing them a little closer together instead, having them go Butch and Sundance, or Tango and Cash, or... some better example, but... yeah.
Totally with you on a Butch and Sundance ending! The thing that's great about the two characters is they both walk so close to the line and aren't afraid to overstep it. Rylan's no angel, he'll break the law if he thinks its for the greater good, or sometimes just when he's been pushed to the point he doesn't care what it takes anymore. And Boyd, for all his bad behaviour and flaws has a good heart. There's a mutual respect between the two of them, an 'enemy mine' style respect, that makes the dynamic so damn entertaining. I wouldn't mind seeing them face off for real or take the relationship to a much more volatile and unpredictability level but eventually, you know they be back to back against mutual enemies.
I can't wait for Season Five to return!! I adore Raylan even if he's job takes him away from Winona and the baby - I hope that they will eventually realize that their marriage ended too soon and with Gary out of the way, new baby girl on the way, Raylan would be an amazing daddy as long as Winona's there to help him not put obstacles in their relationship!! As for Boyd, hope he gets Ava back but like everyone else love the love/hate relationship between Boyd and Raylan!! They are two amazing actors!!
NOTE: Name-calling, personal attacks, spamming, excessive self-promotion, condescending pomposity, general assiness, racism, sexism, any-other-ism, homophobia, acrophobia, and destructive (versus constructive) criticism will get you BANNED from the party.
Oooo everyone is off travelling! Can't wait for the show to be back the most entertaining drama out there.

Ha :-) Yes 42 mins of Raylan and Boyd locked in a room together would surely make the best TV ever. Love their chemistry!!
ReplyDeleteHmm I have to say that I missed them having scenes together last season, so I hope we get more scenes this season.

ReplyDeleteThey don't have to be locked in a room, as long as they're together, things get crazy and they're in the thick of it!
