Glee - Episode 5.03 - The Quarterback - Synopsis

25 Sept 2013

In the wake of Finn’s sudden death, former members of New Directions return to McKinley to remember their fallen friend. While a stoic Mr. Schue encourages all the gleeks to “memorialize him the way we do everything – by singing about it,” some of the kids find the exercise more cathartic than others. At the Hudson-Hummel home, Kurt, Burt and Carole sort through Finn’s belongings and what begins as a somber occasion blossoms into a poignant and much needed family moment. Meanwhile, Emma grows concerned when she believes Will is so busy taking care of others that he’s not allowing himself time to grieve; Santana struggles with using her “bitch” mask to hide her fond feelings for Finn, and has a run in with Bree, McKinley’s "New Santana"; and following a heart-to-heart with Coach Beiste, Puck honors Finn’s memory by making a life-changing decision about his future.

  2. Why does this Bree character have a storyline? This is not the episode for that! Wasn't Kitty enough of a "New Santana"?

  5. This sadly will be my last Glee episode. I won't even watch the first two episodes of the season. I just hope this is done tastefully.. judging by this 'Bree' and her storyline i'm starting to doubt it.

  7. Im not ready for this.. as I a fan I need more than an episode for Finn. As AngelaRobinson90 said Im starting to doubt about this episode. I think writers must fix the messy season 4.. and fix Rachel and Finn relationship the first 2 episodes of season 5. It will be enough for me to see that Rachel call him and think about Finn, even when I know he is gone and that is all fantasy. I don´t see in the sneak peek of episode 1 or 2 that Finn´s death affected Rachel so hard. According to Matthew Morrison they dont say how he died, they just sing songs.. not enough for me! Not the best episode to introduce a character!

Since season 4 I was so dissapointed about Glee. The Rachel we watched in season 1,2,3 is not the same a season 4. A drastic change! You can not sell the audience a love like Rachel and Finn in the season 1-3 and then throw it all away. Is just unfair.
I think it will be my last Glee episode too! So sad!

  9. I doubt it's actually a storyline. She probably says something ignorant that makes Santana snap. These writers loved Cory just as much as us; don't doubt that they put everything they could into this episode to make it perfect.

  10. I doubt that it will even constitute the term 'storyline'. All it says is that Santana has a run-in with her. That doesn't say 'storyline' at all.

  11. I hope so Rowrow. But I'm actually pretty tired of these "New Santana" "New Quinn" "New Rachel" etc characters...

  13. The fact that this new Bree girl will be in this episode and they left Quinn (Dianna Agron) out has me pissed beyond belief!

  14. it's a little surprising that they left Rachel out of the episode description completely. But she'll probably be in it right? It will break my heart to absolute pieces to watch this episode, to watch the cast especially Lea Michele.
