Well folks, tonight’s the (last) night. And the last opportunity for a Dexter poll. Much like going into the finale, no one knows how this could turn out, so cast your vote below:
Pairing this back to fifteen scenes was incredibly hard as this was such a fitting end to the show we’ve been watching for eight years. As always, if your favourite’s been left out, leave it in the comments below.
"8.13?" "Remember the titans?" WTF?
ReplyDeleteAlready corrected to "Remember the Monsters." Glad to see someone's paying attention though :)
ReplyDeleteIt is 8.12
ReplyDeleteAnd fixed again.
ReplyDeleteThe credits.
ReplyDeleteI voted for Saxon and the pen, just because there was some immediate justice in it.
ReplyDeleteNot on the list was Dexter taking Deb on the boat and letting her go. Honestly, I really liked the finale. So many great scenes and with an ending (and back door to a spin off) that I can totally get behind.
I really liked the ambiguously of did Dexter let fate decide if he deserved to live after Debra passing by sailing out on a small boat vs. that huge storm OR was it yet another elaborate plan by the sometimes super-human Dexter. Then the grin and facial expression into credits was pretty cool all things consdidering.
ReplyDeleteDex pulling the life support on Deb and telling her he loves her, almost cry, and Dex dropping Deb into the water, he drops her like one of his victims so sad , but I felt like Ded had to die because she has allways been the good side of dexter the constant in his life his hope. And so sad for Harrison and Quinn.
ReplyDeleteAbsolutely terrible ending. Honestly, the entire thing was a mess. The storm was lame. Argentina was really lame. But Dexter becoming a damn lumberjack!?!?!? Are these writers out of their damn minds? I can't even process how dumb it was. 8 seasons of artistic brilliance down the drain!!
ReplyDeleteThe dissapointing finale part
ReplyDeleteGuive an end:(
Really I thought Hurricane "Laura" was poetic. It was like he went back into another womb and transformed. Again, he was in a mountain town where he could no doubt "hike"...Hannah taking Harrison was also like another cycle beginning...
ReplyDeleteDexter pulling the plug on Deb, it was really 1 of the only solid moments in a "meh" finale.
ReplyDeleteI liked his pen stab trick, I liked him letting Harrison have a chance at a better life with Hannah. But they really weren't great moments, only ok.
The rest of it, was sort of a wash of so-so TV.
Of course, the ending. An effin lumberjack? LAME ending. Terribly LAME.
There were several scenes that stood out, but I don´t like sad scenes so I chose funny one. Angel´s and Quinn´s reaction when they watched Dexter killing Saxon was way too funny.
ReplyDeleteWhen that vet enters the hospital and spits the blood, a very welcome adrenaline rush.
ReplyDeleteWish there was more of that in this last episode.
Lol. It sounds demented as hell, but same here!!
ReplyDeleteThe whole episode was really disappointing, but the scene with the vet spitting out his tongue, and someone saying, "who would cut out someone's tongue?!" was at least in line with a "Dextery" type episode with lots of blood. Actually, it would have made sense for Dexter to cut out Saxon's tongue, so he couldn't tell tales on Dexter. Why didn't he? He knew Dexter was a serial killer, and then Dex would have had to spin a believable yarn to get away. Just lame and unsatisfying end for such a brilliant series.
ReplyDeleteMeh ... None, the episode wasn't a good series finale, IMHO
ReplyDeleteI guess Saxon could write a note to the police about Dexter... I didn't like the finale by the way.
ReplyDeleteThe best scene? Dexter going after Saxton, who had a gun, with a fucking fork.
ReplyDeleteOH and Quinn's reaction to learning about Deb possibly never coming out of her coma, emmy worthy.
Seriously the best scene had to be the little two minute interview they had with the old/current cast members about the show ending before the episode even began. Ugh!
Def the flashback with Dexter and Debra ;(
