I would go for Rico. Well you did already. Last chance I give this show. If the summer finale turns out to be what the rest of the season has been its over for me.
Nice interview - but I am soooo tired of Kylie's attempt to sell Ashton. Yes - we know he is her boyfriend, but who cares really!!!! Can she separate her work from her personal life. First of all, Episode 10 was the worst episode specially for the Lacey character. It is not only my opinion, but a lot of hard-core fans were upset with that episode and said they would not continue the show because Lacey looked like a dumb compared to Jo. Just because she had a scene with Rico, she thought it was the best? really? Do your homework, girl and learn to be deeper rather than shallow. Here are some good advices for Kylie a) Stop bashing Danny's character openly on interviews...etc if you want for the show to succeed. People are getting upset by you. Today a few % like Lacey and a few % like Jo. But more than 95% like Danny. Viewers are invested in his character and we are supposed to sympethize with Danny. She can't go around and say he is a lier, bla, bla. Danny does NOT lie to his 2 bffs but he does not say things he doesn't want to share. He lies to other people so what - everyone does. He is a very compassionate person to the people he likes. Example look how he defended Cole. b) Kylie needs to separate her real life boyfriend from work. Apparently that boyfriend is everything she talks about and posts etc..people do not even see that chemistry and are annoyed by her. It is enough they are working together and probably living. But yet, it looks like she wants Lacey to be with Rico? I swear all current Dacey shippers would have left the show. You know what that means, the show will be cancelled. c) Adapt some marketing attitiude. As a starter, learn from Avan. Look how he keeps his personal relationship to himself, and how he engages his fans on tweeter. Good Luck!
I liked the interview and the actress gave a lot of thoughtful responses. If she had started to gush over how wonderful Danny was (like some of the fans), then I would call that shallow. To me, Kylie was just telling the facts. Danny withheld important information from the friends who were trying to help him, so it makes sense that her character doesn't trust him. However, she also stressed, on two occasions that her feelings for Danny were still real, so at the very least, that comment should appease the shippers. i'm not sure what you want her to say. As much as I like Danny's character, he is definitely not acting in a way that would gain any friend's trust, so we'll have to see how it plays out. Plus, I've seen interviews with Avan Jogia and he's even more critical about Danny than Kylie. He generally describes Danny as manipulative and even says that the jury is still out on whether Danny is truly a sociopath.
Her comment about Rico was funny, because of her relationship with Ashton. However, since I don't follow twitter or Facebook for this show, it was the first time I heard her mention Rico. Plus I really liked Lacey's and Ricos interactions in episode 10....it was probably the better part of that episode, so I get what she's saying. In short, I really don't think the actress should follow your advice.
This is a terrific interview - Kylie is really funny and insightful and I'm amazed at how much inner warmth and kindness she is able to bring to a cold, guarded character like Lacey. I think Lacey plays a very specific role on the show based on her history that influences the mask she presents to the world so Kylie will probably not get her wish to play her as goofier and more fun for a long while. I am surprised she named episode 10 as her favorite because it was a terrible episode for Lacey's character development in terms of consistency, values and growth (eg. She suddenly didn't care about being outed as dating Danny until she found out Jo might feel hurt?? eg. She is suddenly back to believing Danny is guilty about Cole's poisoning when in episode 7 she believed him about that enough to break up with Archie to be w/him? ). Lacey fans were quite upset over it, so it is odd she would claim it for her favorite episode - guessing its solely because she got to interact with Ashton in scenes.
NOTE: Name-calling, personal attacks, spamming, excessive self-promotion, condescending pomposity, general assiness, racism, sexism, any-other-ism, homophobia, acrophobia, and destructive (versus constructive) criticism will get you BANNED from the party.
