Today we're continuing with Outstanding Comedy Series.
You can choose up to six shows. Also, which show do you think should be nominated and which show do you think will be nominated?
For comparison here are last year's nominees:
Modern Family - Winner
Veep
Curb Your Enthusiasm
Girls
30 Rock
The Big Bang Theory
You can still vote in previous polls:
Lead Actor & Actress in a Drama Series
Supporting Actor & Actress in a Drama Series
Lead Actor & Actress in a Comedy Series
TBBT and HIMYM for me. I hope HIMYM at least gets nominated. That would be a nice boost for the final season.
ReplyDeleteJust two for me. The Big Bang Theory and Parks and Rec.
ReplyDeleteMy nominees are: TBBT, The Middle, New Girl, Happy Endings and 30 Rock.
ReplyDeleteWinner: The Middle, with 30 Rock being a solid 2nd
There are 4 which for me should absolutely be nominated:
ReplyDelete- Modern Family
- The Big Bang Theory - it had its best year ever, I think it should win
- New Girl
- Community
For the other two, I would personally nominate How I Met Your Mother and Cougar Town or Happy Endings, but I don't feel as strongly about the seasons of these shows as I do about the first four.
HIMYM, the big bang theory, parks and recreation and the office
ReplyDeleteBig Bang, Veep, Happy Endings, Community, Modern Family, New Girl.
ReplyDeleteNot all of them had top notch seasons, but *shugs*
I did not like the nominations ... missing a lot and others do not deserve to be there
ReplyDeleteNew girl and parks for me. New girl had a ridiculously good season it should at least be nominated
ReplyDeleteWho I would nominate: Parks & Rec, Happy Endings, Enlightened, 30 Rock, Veep & Cougar Town
ReplyDeleteWho will be nominated: TBBT, Girls, Modern Family, 30 Rock, Veep, New Girl
I'm sorry but comedies suck now, the only show I like on this list is Louie
ReplyDeleteIMO, Go On was the best comedy on TV this past year. Despite its cancellation, it definitely deserves a nomination.
ReplyDeleteParks and Rec and Community, though I find the former funnier. HIMYM isn't all that funny any more (in my opinion).
ReplyDeleteout of the ones that I watch, Veep and Parks were the strongest for me this season , and then Happy endings and Community
ReplyDeletenew girl - and cougar town should be added in my opinion, so underrated
ReplyDeleteAgreed. Go On was the only comedy that I consistently watched last season. I liked how much heart it had with its laughs.
ReplyDeleteI would have picked Go On (other). However I hope Arrested Development gets a nod because it would be legitimizing Netflix as a platform for original TV. I find that exciting.
ReplyDeleteTHE NEIGHBORS !!!
ReplyDeleteEnlightened with the amazing Laura Dern of course !
ReplyDeletePeople may hate me for this, but since I'm a person who loves to watch comedy, but doesn't laugh very much, I have to say: I like The Big Bang Theory, Veep and The Office. I voted for these three in addition to "Others" on the poll, because I know they are all very popular. However, none of them actually make me physically laugh week-to-week, I just giggle from time to time. The only show that has physically made me laugh out loud is 2 Broke Girls. The other shows are amazing at telling storylines, but none of them have made me laugh. 2 Broke Girls is kind of the opposite; they can't stick to the original story (they meddle in Caroline's father and other issues all the time) but they are flat-out-funny and outrageous in a lot of their lines, so outrageous my laughter gets out of control and I wound up on the floor with a stomachache from laughing too hard. Neither TBBT, Veep or The Office has ever managed to do that. But I still wanted to show my support for them here. :)
ReplyDeleteI agree actually New Girl and TBBT have strong season both.
ReplyDeleteMy nominees TBBT, New Girl, Happy Endings, HIMYM and The Neighbors (serious guys I not kidding, this show is hilarious).
ReplyDeleteI really don't find The Big Bang Theory that funny.
ReplyDeleteMy nominees: Parks and Recreation, New Girl, Community, Louie, Veep and Modern Family.
My predictions: The Big Bang Theory, New Girl, Modern Family, Veep, 30 Rock and Girls.
Yeah, if not TBBT, I would give it to New Girl. But I am not even sure it can manage a nomination with all the comedies fighting to get in.
ReplyDeleteIt won't get nominated but I thought the funniest TV show of the year was The League. The Middle is a very underrated funny show so I'd like to see that represented and Happy Endings, Raising Hope, The Big Bang Theory and Modern Family
ReplyDeleteI like Community, HIMYM, and Modern Family, but they had pretty bad seasons overall.
ReplyDeleteHappy Endings - Winner
Cougar Town
The Big Bang Theory
Parks and Recreation
30 Rock
Go On
Not in any order: New Girl, Parks & Rec, Happy Endings, The Mindy Project, and Arrested Development.
ReplyDeleteCommunity is still one of my favorites but I think a lot of us can agree that for the most part it was a subpar season.
I don't see much love for The Mindy Project here. It started off slow but really came on strong after the first few episodes. Honestly surprised with how much I ended up enjoying it.
Parks & Rec, Veep, Raising Hope, Arrested Development, 30 Rock and HIMYM.
ReplyDeleteBig Bang Theory and The Neighbors. The only two sitcoms that regularly make me laugh out loud.
ReplyDeleteShould be nominated :
ReplyDeleteArrested Development - because it's freaking Arrested Development, come on! It should win.
Raising Hope - because it was the best comedy series on network TV in 2012-2013.
30 Rock - an Emmy regular, sure, but they truly ended the series on one of their best seasons.
The Office - because it's the last one and the lack of Emmys of this long-running show baffles me.
Parks & Rec - because while inferior to s4, season 5 was still pretty funny.
Don't Trust the B, Go on, The Big C (yep, it's considered a comedy), Shameless, Enlightened, The League, It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia (if it gets nominated after 7 years, I'll eat my hat), Legit, Maron...
As a result of a lackluster fourth season, Community doesn't make the top 6 (but is still vasty superior to many comedies, and the show still has this special thing that makes it stand out to my eyes). Not that it actually has a shot at getting a nomination anyway, Emmy voters don't know this show.
HIMYM, 2 Broke Girls , Anger managment, Babby Daddy
ReplyDeleteVeep and Modern Family for me. Maybe Girls too.
ReplyDeleteRaising Hope
ReplyDeleteI'd also pick Go On.
ReplyDeleteBig Bang Theory is overhyped.
