I like Lacey a lot. I think that she, Danny and Archie are the 3 most interesting and complex young characters on the show. They picked a very strong cast for this show.
i dont hate Lacey, but let jo get some love for the effort she has put in to believing him, vs lacey getting the love for the hate she put in to not believing him. after a while i don't care who gets what.
I don't hate Lacey either (hate is too strong of a word) but I certainly don't like her. She's just not a very good person. She's proven herself to be more concerned with her social status and what her absolutely horrible friends think than being real and emotionally honest. On top of that, unlike Jo, Lacey would rather stick her head in the sand when things get tough than stand up for what she believes. So far, Lacey has shown herself to be a person of weak character.
This is is how I see it. ^ I just didn't want to say so many negative things about her which I feel bout her. But I guess she will come around its what character development is for.
She definitely needs to go through an evolution as a character because the current version of Lacey is not the type of person I, as a viewer, can back or root for.
But that assumes that getting to date Danny is some kind of reward, which it isn't. Unlike Jo, who is willing to believe everything Danny says, Lacey is a lot less trusting and more cautious, which is probably how most of us would feel. If Danny wants to date her, he'll actually have to earn her trust. To be honest, I'm still not certain that Danny isn't actually a sociopath.
That's funny...I think Jo is a lot weaker in many ways; she latches onto Danny mainly because she's lonely and wants things to go back to the old ways and in trying to prove Danny's innocence, she's actually hurt a number of people. Lacey may be popular, but she doesn't fit the stereotype of the bitchy popular girl who treats all her friends like crap. She and her friends actually like each other, as evidenced by how she took Regina's death. And once again, I can't blame her for being wary of Danny, since it's still questionable whether or not he had anything to do with her best friend's death. Also, hiding the night she spent with him had more to do with not upsetting her boyfriend Archie than protecting her popularity. I wouldn't say she's a strong person, but there are a lot of things about her that I like.
i would be happy if he is a sociopath, who at least doesn't kill his friend. hey maybe i will have something to look forward to after Dexter ends. but yea i think someone else killed Regina, at the right time to blame Danny.
- I fail to see how rekindling a friendship can legitimately be categorized as latching onto someone, especially if that someone is just as eager to spend time with the person in question. - "in trying to prove Danny's innocence, she's actually hurt a number of people" Someone's life is on the line. I'd say that's a bit more important than making a few people a little uncomfortable. - "Lacey may be popular, but she doesn't fit the stereotype of the bitchy popular girl who treats all her friends like crap" That makes it worse. Beneath the surface, Lacey isn't like the horrible people she hangs out with but she's completely unwilling to be real about it because she doesn't want to rock the boat or take the chance of losing face with her friends. - "She and her friends actually like each other" Phoebe isn't so bad (after a rough start) but Sarita possesses no positive qualities whatsoever and if Lacey genuinely likes her as a person then I consider that another knock on her judgement and her character.
"My guess is that you're not going to like Lacey no matter what she does, LOLZ. If you picked apart every character this way, you'd hate them all." I'm fairly objective when it comes to most characters and not all characters lend themselves to being picked apart so easily as Lacey does.
"Plus, isn't Jo also trying to be friends with Lacey's crowd right now?" Friends? No. She's trying to spend time with them in order to get information about the late Regina Crane, to check on their alibis, and to evaluate them as possible alternative suspects.
Alright, I think you all need to take a step back and re-evaluate what you have been saying. You seriously can't expect everyone to just accept Danny back like he hadn't killed his aunt or possibly Regina. It would be a massive plot flaw if they did - imagine if your best friend killed his aunt and then disappeared for years... you wouldn't be able to just get over that.
Now imagine that he murdered your best friend. It's realistic to say that she wouldn't accept him back so easily, and to say that it's all for popularity is ridiculous. She may be concerned with popularity (which doesn't make her shallow and isn't a character flaw - it's an accurate portrayal of a teenage girl. Even Jo joined that play because she was bothered with her own popularity), but even if she had been a social outcast, her best friend has just been murdered and she doesn't know for sure that Danny actually didn't do it. I'm not saying that there are no flaws with any other characters or anything, but you are being a little hyper-focused. Plus this is a TV show. Chill.
Please point out where I said that everyone must accept Danny? Where did I even breach the subject at all? Before I reevaluate, maybe you should reread what I posted.
NOTE: Name-calling, personal attacks, spamming, excessive self-promotion, condescending pomposity, general assiness, racism, sexism, any-other-ism, homophobia, acrophobia, and destructive (versus constructive) criticism will get you BANNED from the party.
