HBO RENEWS HIT SERIES TRUE BLOOD FOR SEVENTH SEASON

LOS ANGELES, July 15, 2013 – HBO has renewed the hit show TRUE BLOOD for a seventh season, it was announced today by Michael Lombardo, president, HBO Programming. New episodes of the series will debut in summer 2014, with executive producer Brian Buckner returning as showrunner.
“TRUE BLOOD remains a signature show for HBO, and a true phenomenon with our viewers,” noted Lombardo. “Thanks to Brian Buckner and his talented team, the show continues to be a thrill ride like nothing else on TV.”
Mixing romance, suspense, mystery and humor, the show takes place in a world where vampires and humans co-exist, after vampires have come out of the coffin, thanks to the invention of mass-produced synthetic blood that means they no longer need humans as a nutritional source. The series follows waitress and part-faerie Sookie Stackhouse (Anna Paquin), who can hear people’s thoughts, vampire Bill Compton (Stephen Moyer) and vampire Eric Northman (Alexander SkarsgĂ„rd). Alan Ball (creator of the Emmy®-winning HBO series “Six Feet Under”) created the show, which is based on the bestselling Sookie Stackhouse novels by Charlaine Harris.
The sixth season of TRUE BLOOD, which launched June 26, has inspired critical raves, with the Boston Herald praising the show for “suspense, surprises and crackling dialogue,” while US Weekly noted that the show’s “cheeky humor and vivid imagination are still there to relish,” and the New York Post called it “bloody hilarious.” According to early data, the show is already exceeding ten million viewers per episode.

  2. Yes! Although the werewolf storyline is getting a bit boring, the show is still great!

  3. I am really enjoying this season. I felt that the vision and nature of the show really got lost the past 2 seasons with the weight of so many plotlines and actors. This season feels a bit more trimmed and cohesive -- although I would be happy to lose the werewolf plotline. I welcome a season 7 if it can stay this way.

  8. So this Season, Season 6 is about the beginning of the End. I'm really enjoying this Season. I'm glad HBO renewed it for a 7th Season no surprise here. But my gut feeling is that Season 8 will be the Final Season.

  10. I didn't have too many doubts, but that's not say that this has been a great season so far!!

  11. I really like season 4, but I agree about season five. It lost it's character driveness, but I think it's alright as a bridging season.

It means nothing like that. But it also doesn't mean the opposite.

  13. But would they advertise the new season with the name of an actor that is scheduled to leave?

  14. I wonder if for 12 or 10 episodes...the 10 episode habit HBO is getting into is very annoying.

  15. the only reason this yr was 10 episodes was because of anna paquin's pregnancy.

  16. I think the same. Maybe even season seven will be the last. Either way, I hope they have time to do a proper wrap up.

  17. Season 7 wont be the last because if it was, they would have done a press release with the renewal of season 7. Season 8 will be the final, they will pull a showtime just like Dexter.

  18. Love people so long ... ultimately lost - to Bill

I remember the first episode of the play when he was melancholy and shy smile ~ eyes reveals a deep desire for life and love - remember she ran him through the night ... and he kissed the campfire - he asked her to marry him ~ hope she can make up your own good of humanity - he's not exactly feel that their beauty lies helpless and inadequate ~ his lovely on human respect and self-condemnation of them ...

But everything changed .... until the last moment I can not believe he chose the full power ~ feel perfectly with the powerful must be very attractive one thing - because he felt crippled for so long ... he began to feel that love is cowardly, I feel completely evil is strong - he completely abandoned everything that he could have the world ~ ~

But he did not love ~ nothing ~

    Also have nothing .....

In his epitaph should read this sentence: "He met love, but in the end he gave up; he lived for hundreds of years, chose to die."

    - To truly dead Bill Compton

    Ture Blood Season 1-5

  19. Wouldn't be the first time they do something like this in order to not spoil a plot twist. Anyway I don't think they're gonna die.

  20. Can't think of another situation like this one, especially since we've heard about the actor's emotional farewell. But yeah, they could have just used that generic line as they usually do in their press releases.

    True Blood does flashbacks.

  22. That would not warrant including the actor's name as if he belonged to the core cast for next season.

  23. Dexter told us almost 2.5 years ahead of time. True Blood has A LOT of gas left... my guess is at least 3 years and probably a few more than that.

  24. Yay! I'm so happy!
