2013 TV Series Competition Cancelled Shows Polls Rizzoli and IslesHi folks,
The first day of the competition saw a decent turn out for the early rounds, and gave Game of Thrones and Dexter relatively safe passage into Round Two, with 59% and 54% of the votes. We say an early goodbye to How I Met Your Mother and Suits.
Today sees four of the competitions dark horses begin their quest for glory. Gilmore Girls, Smallville and Friends have all had decents runs in the competition; Smallville finished a controversial sixth in 2010, with Friends ninth and Gilmore Girls fourteenth last year. Nothing for me today.
ReplyDeleteMy only vote today, goes to Friends...
ReplyDeleteLooks like I'm in the minority on both polls, but I know that I'm in the right when I say Smallvill was a way better show than Friends
ReplyDeleteHaven't watched either Gilmore Girls or Rizzoli & Isles, but the latter sounds more interesting, so I voted for that.
ReplyDeleteSecond poll was easy, Smallville all the way!
The first poll easily goes to Gilmore Girls for me... The second is very hard for me since i grew up watching both shows but in the end Friends is what i enjoyed watching more...
ReplyDeleteDon't watch either in the first poll so couldn't vote.
ReplyDeleteSecond poll I've been planning on watching smallville for ages (I've like the eps I have seen) but right now have to go for friends. It's the only comedy where I can watch any episode over and over again and laugh every time
Only saw Rizzoli and Isles but it was once to many. I voted Gilmore Girls
ReplyDeleteFriends had some good moments but i outgrew that show in record time, I voted Smallville
I'm surprised the first poll is so close personally I can't stand Rizzoli and Isles, but I don't like cop shows so maybe it is actually good. Voted gilmore girls the early episodes were good seasons 1-5, after that it lost me.
ReplyDeleteAs for the second poll I knew friends would win personally I like both, don't love either. Friends. Will probably make it to the third round then lose to Dexter/GOT.
Friends, Smallville is not so good from season 7 onwards.
ReplyDeleteHaven't watched either Gilmore Girls nor Rizzoli & Isles
i love friends but i'm going with smallville because it's my favourite TV show.
ReplyDeleteRizzoli and Isles & Friends
ReplyDeleteSame here.
ReplyDeleteI feel the same way about Friends.
ReplyDeleteFriends all the way. It is my all time favorite show.
ReplyDeleteNever liked comedy shows... Smallville it is!!!
ReplyDeleteAnother four shows that don't thrill me in any way.
ReplyDeleteGilmore Girls just isn't my cup of tea but I'll give it a vote of solidarity for Jared Padalecki!
I haven't seen Rizzoli and Isles yet but I have read quite a few of Gerritsen's earlier books in the series.. Not really dying to see the show.
X
I've seen most of Smallville but I'm not a big fan of prequels of any kind, and as for Friends, Just no.
Gilmore Girls and Friends (even though I really liked Smallville).
ReplyDeleteGilmore Girls and Smallville! I have watched most of Friends but still have to go with Smallville.
ReplyDeleteSmallville vs Friends that`s unffair but whatever!
ReplyDeleteGilmore Girls (that was such a fun show!) and Friends (grew up with it, nostalgia) for me :)
ReplyDeleteThere is no poll where I would EVER vote for friends apart from "Most Over-rated show"
ReplyDeleteI am a pretty big fan of Gilmore Girls. I didn't keep up with it religiously or anything but it was incredibly well-written and had its own brand of comedy. Sookie (Melissa McCarthy) was a favorite as well as the grandparents (who really could only be likened to Lucille and George Bluth for their ridiculous banter). I actually watch R&I because it's fairly entertaining but GG gets my vote.
ReplyDeleteAs for Smallville vs Friends... I was a very big fan of SV since it came out when I was a kid and I was amazed by it. It hasn't really aged all that well for me, but I'll still vote for it. Friends wasn't my favorite but I think it was a landmark sitcom for that time period and I remember watching it after school in reruns all the time.
Friends is the only show in this poll that I've seen enough of to vote on one way or the other, but since it's not one of my favorite shows, I wouldn't feel right giving it a vote over Smallville without having seen enough of Smallville to know which I'd prefer. So no vote for me today on anything.
ReplyDeleteYesterday I got two votes down for saying that I watched only GOT, so I'm wondering how many I'll get today if I confess that I don't watch any of these.
ReplyDeleteI liked Smallville but I have to go with Friends.
ReplyDeleteI agree. Smallville after Season 7 was either alright or really bad (particularly the Season 8 finale which I thought was one of the worst finales in TV history). Should've ended it when Michael Rosenbaum was planning on leaving.
ReplyDeleteGilmore Girls & Smallville today.
ReplyDeleteI have to go with Gilmore Girls! I love Rizzoli and Isles too but GG is one of my first favorite show so...
ReplyDeleteAnd for the second its friends ^^
Gilmore Girls and Smallville for me!
ReplyDeleteFriends & Gilmore Girls.
ReplyDeleteGilmore Girls & Friends
ReplyDeleteGilmore Girls because while I dropped it when Jesse came on, I still look back at it with fondness. I like Rizzoli and Isles but it's a show I can watch sporadically and not feel like I am missing much. Have to say i am really looking forward to next week's episode though.
ReplyDeleteWavering between Smallville and Friends because I liked but did not love either. Smallville had some great characters in Chloe and Lex but it also had one of the worst characters ever on TV, Lana. Friends is a show I like in reruns but never felt was important to sit down and watch the whole thing. In the end I guess I'll throw it to Smallville since it is losing and Jensen Ackles was on it at one point.
Smallville had Jensen Ackles in it for the 4th season I believe, if that puts it any higher on your to-watch list. I had dropped Smallville before his role, which is actually what happened with most CW shows he was in.
ReplyDeleteWhile I watched both Smallville & Friends, I also wasn't a huge fan of either. I did end up choosing Smallville because the bottom line for me is that I'd be more likely to sit through an old episode of Smallville than I would Friends.
ReplyDeleteAt least Scruffy agrees with me!
ReplyDeleteFriends all day!!!!! and Rizzoli and Isles!!!!!
ReplyDeleteGilmore Girls and Friends :)
ReplyDeleteFor me it comes down to which one I am more likely to search out episodes I haven't seen than rewatching. I would rewatch a Friends episode more because they are only 1/2 an hour and usually come on in the wee hours of morning when nothing else is happening.
ReplyDeleteFriends is just the best sitcom ever...
ReplyDeleteThat seems like a solid reason to me. As George Harrison said, "it's all up to what you value." :)
ReplyDeleteI'm surprised that rizzoli and isles jumped from 44-45% up to 49.75% in only a few hours. That seems like someone must have shared this with a large fan base for it to get so many votes so fast
ReplyDeleteWow, 396 to GG and 396 to R&I. I really can't chose between them so I looked at the results and you literally cant get closer than that. I'm going to have to think about this one. Friends was an easier choice even though I loved Smallville too.
ReplyDeleteGilmore Girls & Friends
ReplyDeleteGilmore Girls and Friends!
ReplyDeleteGilmore Girls and Smallville
ReplyDeleteRizzoli & Isles and Smallville (which i wouldn't have picked before catching up in syndication)
ReplyDeleteDid I miss day 3 yesterday or has it not been posted yet?
ReplyDeleteNext round will be up tomorrow. Busy few days at work, and I'm completely knackered!
ReplyDeleteWhat with day 3?
ReplyDeleteIf Adam D. Harris is really busy is there someone else that can post the next polls?
ReplyDeleteNo, sorry, He has all the polls, spreadsheets and stats etc
ReplyDeleteWhat a pity...but of course Smallville is a niche show compared to Friends.
