A weekly feature in which we're trying to find most compelling, best acted, written, directed and just generally great scenes that we've seen recently.
MISTRESSES, "Decisions, Decisions", July 1, 2013, Actors: Alyssa Milano, Brett Tucker
The Scene: Savi tells Harry the truth
Klutzy Girl: I'm glad she finally did and hopefully they can figure out what to do from here.
PRETTY LITTLE LIARS, "Face Time", July 2, 2013, Actors: Troian Bellisario, Torrey DeVitto
The Scene: Spencer confronts Melissa
Jamie Coudeville: I had been waiting for this for a while, and I was not disappointed.
RIZZOLI AND ISLES, "In Over Your Head", July 2, 2013, Actors: Sasha Alexander, Sharon Lawrence, John Doman
The Scene: Maura and Hope confront Paddy
Jamie Coudeville: I just loved this scene.
TEEN WOLF, "Frayed", July 1, 2013, Actors: Dylan O'Brien, Orny Adams
The Scene: Stiles stops the bus
Justyna Kubica: The reason why Stiles was trying so hard to stop the bus in the first place couldn't have been better or more serious. He was saving his best friend's life. But his plan's execution was probably one of the funniest things I've seen on this show and definitely this week on TV in general. First the entire "conversation" with the Coach and then THE FACE. Replayed it a bunch of times! SO funny! And only one of the things that make Stiles my favorite character in the series. And Coach the funniest. Also worth mentioning: Stiles and Danny's texting! Also absolutely hilarious!
Jamie Coudeville: I laughed so hard at this. Stiles' face was priceless.
THE FOSTERS, "The Morning After", July 1, 2013, Actors: Sherri Saum, Hayden Byerly
The Scene: Lena's speech to Jude
Klutzy Girl: Everything about it was amazing.
WAREHOUSE 13, "All the Time in the World", July 1, 2013, Actors: Eddie McClintock, Joanne Kelly
The Scene: Pete's speech to Myka
Klutzy Girl: Pete gets through to Myka about her cancer. While I want something more between them by the end of the series, I adore their friendship.
Justyna Kubica: The sad truth is that no matter how much time we're gonna get, it will never be enough. Not enough time to spend it with the people we love. That's a very serious subject (especially when you connect it with the cancer one) that I never really expected to see being explored on this science fiction series, but I'm glad that it is. Because the show is doing a great job with it. Especially the actors, who are absolutely fantastic and had one of their strongest scenes for like 3rd or 4th time in a row. Kudos to them!

Teen Wolf. Stiles was awesome in this episode lol i couldnt stop laughing when I saw 'the face'!
ReplyDeleteSwitched at Birth: that final scene with Regina and John, both the fight and her having to call 911 and performing compression-only CPR (which apparently is how it's done these days). D.W. was awesome and Constance keeping her cool as Regina was impressive. I definitely wouldn't have reacted that way.
ReplyDeleteThe Fosters: not just Lena's speech to Jude but all scenes involving Jude and the blue nail polish. Especially that final scene when his friend sits with Jude at lunch and also has blue nails :)
Stiles all the way!
ReplyDeleteThe last scene of the Dexter premiere
ReplyDeleteCopper's final scenes where really good. And I also really liked the Spencer/Melissa confrontation on Pretty Little Liars.
ReplyDeleteThis week my choice for scene of the week is unusual and from a non-scripted show...
ReplyDeleteI think Andy Murray winning Wimbledon to become the first Brit to win in 77 years...
The most dramatic moment of TV this week without doubt!!
That was an amazing scene after Championship Point!
Rejoice Britain!
Hmm... I wonder what Tim Henman is thinking right now....
Have to agree with this, absolutely amazing!
ReplyDeletewhere is dexter?
ReplyDeleteThe Killing, Peter Sarsgaard's Seward exploding in anger toward Linden when she requests a chance to interview Seward's son. That she didn't do that at the beginning of the inquest, thereby allowing Seward to be jailed for a crime he didn't commit, absolutely infuriates him. Second choice is from the same show, Seward watching his friend commit suicide as he stood helpless in his cell. Sarsgaard really was wonderful in the episode.
ReplyDeleteAgreed it was a fantastic final and a deserved victory, but the Lions tour win topped it for me.
ReplyDeleteStiles scenes on Teen Wolf and Pete and Myka on Warehoue
ReplyDeleteI totally forgot to do this for this week. (facepalm). By far the best scene of the week for me was Stiles vs. Coach on the bus. I haven't laughed that hard in ages. Pure comic gold.
ReplyDeleteI didn't make mine in on time. I've had a busy week!
ReplyDeleteMine would have been:
1. Dexter: Deb tells Dexter that she's not one that is lost, that Dexter is and the whole time it's him who needed her. (although I disagree with Deb. They way she handles her new job is def suicide mission. So I def think she needs him too.)
2. True Blood: Eric and Willa have an interesting conversation in Eric's coffin.
3.Ray Donovan: I'm torn between two scenes.
A. Ray beats up Micky-Mouse-Club girl's stalker.
B. Ray tells his daughter Bridget about his sister (and we flash back)
Not a lot of options this week and I don't watch any of the shows nominated. Nothing from Dexter, Under the Dome, Holliston or Ray Donovan? I thought those were the 4 best shows of the week.
ReplyDeleteYes yes and yes on that first scene, love it !
ReplyDeleteThe Warehouse 13 scene.
