Mark Gatiss will appear in the fourth season of HBO’s Thrones. The British writer-producer-actor has written Doctor Who novels and episodes of the BBC cult classic, as well as acted on the long-running series (since 2007, he’s credited to three different roles on IMDB). In addition, Gatiss is the co-creator and co-star of another Brit-based favorite, Sherlock, where he plays Holmes’ dryly mysterious brother Mycroft. Now he’s booked on HBO’s fantasy hit next year.
On Thrones he will play …
Well, that’s something we cannot reveal. The Thrones team is keeping Gatiss’ role quiet. Maybe showrunners David Benioff and Dan Weiss will say more at their Comic-Con panel on Friday? A

Wow. Very curious as to who he is going to play!
ReplyDeleteOff the top of my head I can't think of any main roles that he'll fit. Minor roles there are tons. Maybe Uncle Florent, any of the wildlings or black brothers role unfilled. Possible Hizdahr zo Loraq but I'd hate that casting choice.
ReplyDeleteDon't know who he'll play, but that's an excellent actor! :)
ReplyDeleteHmmm... Mace Tyrell? Denys Mallister?
ReplyDeleteHe could be Mace Tyrell but I really hope he's not. Mace is supposed to be a handsome heavy guy. I wasn't happy with Oberyn's casting so I was hoping Mace's casting would be perfect.
ReplyDeleteDenys in the books is an old man he is jason mallisters uncle, so unless they rewrite his character he's to young.
Yeah, he does not make me think of any role instantly! XD
ReplyDeleteI'm just reaching a bit trying to picture him in various roles...
The first pic I can see Mace (albeit thinner) and maaaybe Randyll Tarly in the second? I'm at a loss honestly. No idea.
The Dampahir maybe?
ReplyDeleteGuy must be the busiest man in showbizz. Liked him a lot on Sherlock so I'm curious to see what he'll bring to Game of Thrones!
ReplyDeleteDid you say Gatiss as Hizdahr zo Loraq? XD
ReplyDeleteToooo funny!
Randyll Tarly would be great. He's a bit early in the timeline but he looks like he could be related to sam and in this picture he looks mean.
ReplyDeleteI know he doesn't fit the appearance at all. Like I said i'd hate it if that was the case.
ReplyDeleteSaw someone on another site mention the High Sparrow...
ReplyDeleteI really like that idea! He actually looks the part too...
You probably already know or have read/seen this but in case you haven't?

Thanks...
ReplyDeleteI had not seen that exactly, but I was following it all on a live blog of the panel.
Sadly no casting news :(
