The CW’s Arrow has its sights set on further upping its geek cred by casting Whedonverse alum and onetime Terminator Summer Glau as an adversary for Oliver Queen.
In Season 2 of the superhero series, Glau will fill the recurring role of Isabel Rochev, the beautiful (yathink?) and dangerous Vice President ofArrow_Summer_Glau_Isabel_Rochev Aquisitions for Stellmoor International, a company looking to take over Queen Consolidated. Previously on the show, her name was glimpsed on Robert Queen’s “list.”

She'll fit right in.
ReplyDeleteCould she be Fyers's boss?
ReplyDeleteWonder if they'll stick closer to the comic book version of the character.
ReplyDeleteGreat news!
ReplyDeleteThat's awesome!! I'm always happy to see her in any show that she appears...
ReplyDeleteSo I take this show will be cancelled? :[ xD
ReplyDeleteAnyway, great to have her hear :P
Although if they stick to the comic book version of her, I doubt we will see her face that much :/
What? No stupid "Now this show is going to get canceled" jokes? I'm proud of you guys!
ReplyDeleteSpoke too soon...or too late depending on how you look at it.
ReplyDeleteThat would be cool.
ReplyDeleteAll those shows weren't on the CW where all you have to do is not be the worst show in ratings and you won't get canceled.
ReplyDeleteOh no.
ReplyDeleteAgreed, it was juts a good-willed poke of fun to the stuff that is to come
ReplyDeleteArrow is safe, both ratings-wise and quality-wise. Unless it pulls a TVD, it is bound to have many great quality seasons.
Not exactly true. Sometimes you can be the worst rated regular season show and still get picked up on the CW. They are funny that way.
ReplyDeleteMost likely they will have her in the same role as in the comics - as in the new chairman of Queen Industries, hellbent on making Oliver's life a hell
ReplyDeleteTo Be honest, every time it happened it was either due to CW wanting a syndication deal(GG) or CW simply not having a show to replace it with. Apart from Arrow, CW had REALLY bad luck with getting new shows on the air for longer than half a season(gee I wonder why?)
ReplyDeleteLOL!
ReplyDeleteAwesome news! Glad to have Summer back on my screen soon! :)
ReplyDeleteThey're cancelling Arrow so soon? Geez, I thought this would be another Smallville with like 10 seasons.
ReplyDeleteHehe!
ReplyDeleteI used to make those jokes occasionally until I realized there were people out there who actually believe her presence will actually kill a show. That's when it stopped being funny to me.
ReplyDeleteOne of the most awesome since the start of this show. She is a great actress and i can't wait to see her. And also hope that even as a villain she will be in at least season or two. Again awesome news great actress and awesome addition to the show.
ReplyDeleteI think she is Lisa. Isabel contains all characters that Lisa contains.
ReplyDeleteYeah, I know, because Grey's Anatomy, The Big Band Theory, Angel, CSI, Chuck, and The 4400 to name a few were all cancelled as soon as she arrived.. or not?
ReplyDeleteNo that's someone else. This character that she'll be playing is an actual character from the DC Comics lore.
ReplyDeleteNerdgasm!
ReplyDeleteshe's gonna be great in it she suits the show.
ReplyDeleteSeriously? I know that are crazy (real crazy) shippers, but people who actually believe she is a real life show-jinx? Really?
ReplyDeletethe writerssaid there will be two big baddies in s2,this one makes the cut of a malcolm style, and the other one lisa the cut of a dark archer style
ReplyDeleteFor me it matters less about whether the were canceled shortly after she arrived and more about whether they started to suck when she arrived. She rarely pays off as a guest star for me. Generally the idea that they got a sci fi big fish seems more important than the actual role she plays.
ReplyDeleteOh yeah. I've read posts by people in the past who really do get upset when she's cast on a show. They're not mad because of her character or because they dislike the actress. They're pissed because they think she'll tank their show. It's ridiculous.
ReplyDeleteOh my goodness. That is certifiably crazy.
ReplyDeleteNot cool bro. Coincidence is not causality.
ReplyDeleteHOOOLEEEEE SHAIZA
ReplyDeleteYou spoke too soon, my friend.
ReplyDeleteAngel didn't start to suck in S3, TBBT didn't start to suck in S2, Dollhouse sucked before she arrived, etc. and I don't think Arrow will start to suck now, not yet anyway.
ReplyDeleteShe had a grand total of 3 minutes and 15 seconds of talking time on Angel of which time she had a horrible accent. The only funny parts of her 1 guest episode of TBBT were when she was not on screen. I haven't seen Dollhouse so I will take your word on it there. However The 4400 most definitely started sucking when she showed up in season 3.
ReplyDeleteI cringe when I hear she's cast because she's been a crummy actress in almost everything I've seen her in.
ReplyDeleteAwesome. Curious to see which role she'll have. :)
ReplyDeleteAnd getting Summer is how you get proper geek gred!
ReplyDeleteSo looking forward to this!
"However The 4400 most definitely started sucking when she showed up in season 3."
ReplyDeleteExcept that she joined The 4400 during season 2, not season 3.. so if you thought it started to suck at season 3, it was already after Tess was introduced, so..
It's going to be hard to get Pellegrino to do a guest stint if TTP does well, since he is a regular there, but I'd love to see Mark Sheppard arriving to a guest or even recurring role.
ReplyDeleteShe was in the premiere of season 2 and then not seen again until her recurring role in season 3. I think it's fair to say she was more a season 3 player. These examples are not at all helping your argument when you have to stretch like this.
ReplyDeleteSeeing as they are both on The CW and I believe it is doable if they try...
ReplyDeleteSorry but I have to disagree and I liked her at The 4400 in all seasons she was part of.
ReplyDeleteI love Summer, and I'm sure whatever character she plays will be awesome, but I love Felicity too. I hope this doesn't mean Felicity (I mean whoever the actress that plays her) will go away... :(
ReplyDeleteShe is capable of showing like one facial expression. In all the shows I've seen her on she looks exactly the same with different wardrobe.
