Here’s what fans told EW.com after the screening
“I think it’s really interesting and different from what’s on TV right now and Karl Urban was fantastic. Compared to other cop shows on TV it adds a whole different sci-fi element. It was really intriguing, really well done. The CGI and stuff was really cool. I was happy with it.” — Jennifer from Connecticut.
“I thought it was really good. I really liked the chemistry with Michael Ealy and –I don’t know what the other guy’s name is. You could see how their relationship is going to grow. I’m definitely going to watch it and give it a chance.” — Akela from San Jacinto, CA.
“We did have some comments about the writing,” said Glenn from San Diego, who watched the pilot with his son. “There were a couple lines in there where we were like, ‘Really, they wrote that line?’ The premise is okay.” Will he watch? “Uh, we’ll Tivo it. How about that?”
“I loved it. It was everything it was everything I expected and more. It’s going to bring a new twist to modern television. I loved the idea of the new synthetics, that they’re more colorful and intricate than the normal everyday synthetic creatures in games and movies.” — Davin from Riverside, CA.
“I’d watch it. It seemed like a pretty good concept, the story seemed solid, a new twist on sci-fi. It’s a new take on the buddy-cop-drama-thing I guess. There’s a lot of possibilities.” — Chris from Utah.
“I loved it. Good combination of humor and action. I’m about to text my roommate and tell her that we have to watch it in the fall.” — Erin from Sacramento.

Well at least no one said it sucked.
ReplyDeleteI'll still watch no matter what people say and make up my own mind, but i have a feeling i'll like it!
And you just sounded like a douche.
ReplyDeleteThanks and Agreed! --If the Pilot can set up the story clearly, have some interesting visuals, get us a little interested in the people, and make me think about the beginnings of certain subject matter, then I think it's done it's job. I think we put too much weight on Pilot's sometimes, but from the promos, it looks like Almost Human wastes no time with the character interactions, which I think is a good sign for wanting another character driven series!
ReplyDeletePreviews only mean so much, but nice to hear good reactions overall.
ReplyDeletegood to hear generally positive reactions and some of the lukewarm reactions sound honest/constructive enough but wont keep me from checking it out this fall
ReplyDeleteIt's nice to hear some positive feedback from Comic Con, though one has to keep in mind that Comic Con visitors are keen to like genre shows a bit more. :)
ReplyDeleteThe only problem I see is going yo be consistency considering the pliot may have a slightly inflated budget
ReplyDeleteIt's never the first episode I'm excited about anyway. I'm sure this show will rock if given the time!
ReplyDeletePossibly, but Fringe's final season looks relatively similar to this and they did it on a smaller budget.I agree that it probably won't always be as good as quality as the Pilot, but I'm optimistic that they can keep a futuristic feel, as long as the Pilot isn't too over the top.
ReplyDeleteThis one gets a 3 episode trial from me. Good that it got a positive review at Comic-Con. I tend to agree with these reviews more than traditional TV critics.
ReplyDeleteYep,I liked what we have seen so far,and i'm excited about it! Just wish we didn't have to wait another 108 days till its premiere!!!!
ReplyDeleteAgreed!
ReplyDelete"108" Days LOL! XD
ReplyDeleteGlad it's getting a positive response. Was Sleepy Hollow screened at Comic Con too?
ReplyDeleteSo the gist seems to be: Mostly positive with room for improvement...
ReplyDeleteThat's a pretty good assessment for any pilot. Overall seems comforting, because I do want this one to be good and catch on.
True... but or the people who are members of that lot, can't attend the Con but do intend to watch, the assessment of the ComicCon crowd kinda does carries some weight.
ReplyDeleteHistory has proven to me that any genre TV show worth it's salt deserves the "three episode grace" period .
ReplyDeleteI didn't mean to diminish the opinions of Comic Con-goers, I just take it with a grain of salt. :)
ReplyDeleteI get that. I take all other people's reviews with a grain of salt, ComicCon peeps are no different. They're my kind of crowd though, so I am curious what they have to say.
