Supernatural - Season 9 - The Ghostfacers are back
13 Jun 2013
Supernatural
Thanks to Elena for the heads up.

That doesn't seem like confirmation, tbh. It sounds like he is hoping it will happen next season. Hope it does!
ReplyDeleteNo! Seriously? Why?! The haunted house and found footage episodes with them are from the series' weakest. They're so annoying!
ReplyDeleteHaha yes! They're episodes are some of my favorites.
ReplyDeleteHa! Bring back Missouri and Becky too, Jeremy Carver. I double dog dare you. See if you can top season 8.
ReplyDeleteOn the one hand I dislike Ghostfacers so I'm not enthused about this but, on the other hand, Supernatural has been killing off characters left and right for the past two seasons so this might work out okay. :)
ReplyDeleteGHOST, GHOSTFACERS! YEAH!
ReplyDeleteSInce I'm well aware I'm one of the few people out there that liked the Ghostfacers, this seems like pretty standard MO for Carver--alternate universe season 4 in which all well-established fan annoyances are brought out to play. Goodie!
ReplyDeleteOh yeeeeeeees! I love them so much! lol <3 they're awesome!
ReplyDeleteWhy? I hate the Ghostfacers, I find them really annoying
ReplyDeletethis is so great!! :)
ReplyDeleteHow exciting, look forward to a great episode
ReplyDeleteOmg yes!!! Love those guys. They never fail to make me laugh
ReplyDeleteew. Overdone much?
ReplyDeleteI would love to see the ghostfacers meet Castiel face to face for the first time, or am I the only one? anyways, they never fail to make me laugh can't wait.
ReplyDeletehttp://www.youtube.com/watch?v=At4HgxwAfzQ Cas has met Ghostfacers in a web - episode. I thought it was really cute and funny. :)
ReplyDeleteThank you.
ReplyDeleteThis makes me so happy!!! =D
ReplyDeleteyes. I love those idiots!!
ReplyDeleteBlech. Hope it's not more than a little segment like in "It's a Terrible Life".
ReplyDeleteI'm all for seeing those guys again, so long as Sam and Dean are demoted to supporting players in the eppy.
ReplyDeleteOh shut up
ReplyDeleteKeep hope alive.
ReplyDeleteI will not be deterred by negative votes, I wish they would not bring the Ghostfacers back - since after "Hell House" I've found them funny sometimes but mostly wish the writers would work with other material. Don't get me wrong, I like the actors (seen them in other shows), but I'm not a big fan of their characters being on the show. I preferred the online episodes.
ReplyDeleteEh. I'm not exactly thrilled. It might be entertaining to see Cas react to them, but I was over the Ghostfacers after seeing them for five minutes. We'll see how it goes.
ReplyDeleteNooooooooooo.
ReplyDeleteThis is just the actor saying that he'd like the Ghostfacers to come back in s9, he clarified in a later tweet.
ReplyDeleteWell, we're all set for Bitten 2:.- the Ghostfacers square off against the Teen Werewolf, aided and abetted by the teen Krissy hunters with Garth/ Bobby annswering the phones.
ReplyDeleteThere are no surprises here.
We already know that between secondary characters, Castiel , Metatron and the horde of angels now on Earth, Sam and Dean will be beautiful wallpaper if even that!.
This is Carver's bright new world.
I can't tell if you're being sarcastic or not. There's lots of people who would love to see Missouri and Cassie again. It'd be nice to have some recurring women of colour on the show. If the writers could redeem Becky's character after the way they treated her in "Time For A Wedding" that'd be great. And the way they just left Amelia hanging was really weak, they should bring her back at least to give her character some resolution, maybe have her find out about Sam being a hunter.
ReplyDeleteI would really love to see Missouri back too, and maybe Becky. But I'd personally be quite happy not to see Cassie or Amelia again ever. Just my opinion, of course. :)
ReplyDeletei hope thats true.. I love those guys!
ReplyDeleteAfter the rape story I'm terrified of what they would do with Becky. Missouri I'd like to see again if the writing for her if she does more than suck as a psychic and yell (what a waste of Lorette Divine). I liked Cassie, I just don't want to see her come back to be killed :(
ReplyDeleteWell, don't know how I feel about it. I'm really REALLY hoping they can make the story with them much better than the last ones.
ReplyDeleteThanks for adding this.
ReplyDeleteThis is awful news, I can not stand them, any ep they are in goes to the bottom of my favorite ep list. I don't have patients with grown men that act like they are 12. Not funny to me just stupid.
ReplyDeleteWhile I would not mind seeing Missouri again, don't want to see Amelia ever again or Krissy. While not a fan of Charlie she is MUCH better than the ghostfacers. I just don't like the way Charlie is always having the snide remarks to the boys. PLEASE I just want to forget season 8 ever happened.
ReplyDeleteI do like the way you think. lol
ReplyDeleteYes their unfinished business is GROWING UP.
ReplyDeleteIt sounds like from the tweet mentioned in the thread, they aren't actually coming back, just an actor hoping?
ReplyDeleteI don't see what could be done with them anyway. I could see them making a fake "reality" show about Sam and Dean.
The Ghostfacers seemingly only existed to be dorky, nerdy, ridiculous characters who would contrast with the more normal Sam and Dean. Since then, Sam and Dean have become pretty dorky/nerdy themselves, and less interested in posing or pretending otherwise. So are most of the people around them (Charlie, Garth when he's around...even Cas is pretty dorky). Kevin is probably the most cool at this point. If the show tries to go back to the season 1 or season 3 Dean who dealt with the Ghostfacers, it just wouldn't work for me.
I just found out that Colin Ford is going to be in Under The Dome..now I am excited about watching this series. Please tell me I am not the last person to find this out. lol
ReplyDeleteI wanted to watch this because I love Cas, but could only get as far as the idiots running and screaming..GROW UP GUYS..you are not 12. ugh
ReplyDeleteNo, you just told me, so I would be the last. haha
ReplyDeleteSo you did not already know about this? I am a huge fan of little "Sam".
ReplyDeleteNope, sure didn't. Heck, I saw him in some movie the other day, "We Bought a Zoo" that I only watched because my nephew wanted to watch it...and sure enough...there was Colin Ford there too! He's everywhere! Good for him!
ReplyDeleteIt seems to me they would be brought back just to be killed.
ReplyDeleteCould you imagine Sam and Dean walking in on the scene with Spangler and Zeddmore splattered all over and Dean trying to muffle his laugh and Sam giving him the "Really, Dean?" look?
They have enough room at the bunker to open a wax museum of all the bad guys they've whacked AND 8X10 glossys of the friends they've lost.
ReplyDeleteThey could dedicate a wing to the Ghostfacers!
Ha! Love it. To quote from My Heart Will Go On:
ReplyDeleteDean: "Too soon?" Sam: "Yeah Dean, I'm pretty sure 6 seconds is too soon."
Ed and Harry I can tolerate much, much better than Krissy Chambers - as long as they leave the rest of the "team" behind. At the moment I don't know which ep I loathed more, RT's Bitten or BE's GF (i.e., for me these are the two SPN eps on the very bottom of the 173 SPN eps aired to date).
ReplyDeleteWith BE leaving, and AG prancing all over twitter these days I would not be surprised by 2-4 Krissy eps in S9. .
Majority of it is the guys running around screaming - Cas really only has some lines at the end, and showing up looking chill like "are you done yet?".
ReplyDeleteI thought "Jesus Christ" "No, I'm Castiel" was funny.
Egads, the horror! The battle of my least favorite episodes. As Marisol posted earlier AJ's tweet is just "Wishful Thinking" at the moment, *not confirmation.*
ReplyDeleteI think we're always just going to see Krissy once, as they have so many other characters to use.
ReplyDeleteI like her when they focus on her friendship with Dean. I think that's a nice story for Dean, it shows how he's matured and how caring he is, and understanding. I'm not as interested in her own life, but I don't mind her once a season.
I did see that part, then the screaming started and I was gone. lol
ReplyDeleteThanks. I figure if the show is going to continue dropping the hammer on long-time characters, they should at least drop a few we as viewers would actually like to see bite the dust.
ReplyDeleteI don't mind the Krissy Chambers character but both episodes she has been in have been awful. The writing was just flat-out terrible.
ReplyDeleteThat would be a good poll, who do we NEVER want to see again. lol
ReplyDeletePlus one of the Ghostfacers is on Beauty & the Beast now as a pretty major character.
ReplyDeleteWasn't there a mini-webisode with Cas meeting them? Maybe I dreamed it...
ReplyDeleteI read that one was on CSI too, not sure if that's still true, but that would preclude appearances.
ReplyDeleteHuh... I don't know. I'll have to go on a search for it.
ReplyDeleteMaybe I'm more cynical than you, but for the Ghostfacer guy to send out a tweet like that without any explanation, knowing that it will cause a discussion among fans of the show, smells of the writers putting out feelers to see how well such an idea would be received.
ReplyDeleteNaturally the producer would deny everything. We'll just have to wait until next season to see. :)
Someone further down this page posted a You Tube link! :)
ReplyDeleteSometimes we disagee on certain things, but here I agree with you completely. :)
ReplyDeleteX
I'd just like for season eight to go away and never be spoken of again. Carver's 'brilliant' idea of Sam's not looking, and worse his seeming annoyance at Dean's return, has ruined everything and made the rest of the season unbelievable!
The majority of the episodes were pathetically written, full of errors, (see Grand Canyon,) and unpleasant to watch ( see hand-held camera and screaming torture porn plus doggy girlfriend of some random guy we knew nothing about but were supposed to care for, ) to name only a few.
The only decent thing to come of it was the MOL story -line and since the Henry episode, the mysterious society and the reason why all the members were killed off, has never been mentioned again.
Very good point. AJ's show CSI:NY has been cancelled and I wouldn't put it past one of the "SPN PTB's" ;) to ask AJ to send a "trolling for fan interest tweet". Some fans like the "GF team" - I didn't - and I intensely disliked the GF/Ghost Hunters parody. But I did like Ed and Harry, alone, in Hell House and IATL - where they were used appropriately for their comedic value of their relationship with both brothers (not just Sam, not just Dean).
ReplyDeleteAgreed.
ReplyDeleteI really enjoy Hell house and I absolutely love IATL.
As you say Ed and Harry were properly used there, playing the roles of bumbling wannabee ghosthunters, to the competent and smarter Sam and Dean.
The Ghostfacers episode where they had the lion's part of the screen time was a failure for me, and it's an ep I never watch.
X
But then that's the problem with all the secondary characters/ guest stars, IMO; they're great when they play off against the Winchesters but when the writers try to substitute them FOR the brothers, the episode just falls flat.
The only guest star that has managed to carry a Winchester-less episode was Bobby. Anyone else just doesn't do it!
I actually watched an eppy of ghostfacers last night and I was thinking when they're gonna come back because they should and then I saw this article lol
ReplyDeleteThey should come back and they're will be a bit vengeful after what the boys did! get the camera rollin'. Their roles are comic relief so I wonder about Charlie because of similarities regarding to meta episodes. Well I hope this is true ghostfacers :)
I thought of doing this but people have been on me for being too negative so I dropped it.
ReplyDeleteBe careful what you wish for. In season 9 we could find out that Garth and Krissy also have ties to the Men of Letters and they all become roomies. :-P
ReplyDeleteWell it would allow Jensen and Jared to go on vacation with their wives and babies. See- up side for them. They could come in at the beginning to say hi. Be kidnapped in the middle while we see the Ghostfacers now led by Krissy take up the search and rescue our hapless former heroes. The brothers can come back at the end and tell everyone how they all are the most awesomest hunters to ever live and how they would be dead without their expertise.
ReplyDeleteThe actor who tweeted this used to be on CSI: New York. That show got canceled though. I was excited when I saw him on it on TNT on day because I thought that would preclude him being on SPN again.
ReplyDeleteHe is not one of the biggest characters but he has a good part from what I here. He has been tweeting a lot about it.
ReplyDeleteColour me selfish but I watch for J and J and I want to see them taking the lead parts in their show as much as possible.:)
ReplyDeleteX
While I'm sympathetic to them wanting to work as little as possible,I can't recall my husband's boss giving him much extra time off to be with his babies! :)
As for the horror of a Krissy/ Ghostfacers/ teen whatever her name was episode! Please no!
I'm usually the negative one around here, but you are having some really bad ideas too!.
ReplyDeleteX
We might even find out that Garth and Krissy are really John Winchester's children and are of the Winchester blood-line so..... :)
By the way, Adam if he ever gets out of the Cage, would be a Man of Letters too! Ha!
ROTFLMAO when the "DBag Winchesters"save Ed /Harry/and "Krissy Sue's" bacon and show them who "TRG" are ;).
ReplyDeleteI surmise that you're being ironic, but I wouldn't dissmiss the idea for such an episode out of hand! ;)
ReplyDeleteYou could have hit the story-line right on the head. :)
Hey I'm just looking out for Jensen and Jared. :-P
ReplyDeleteFair enough.
ReplyDeleteIf they're only going to be wallpaper, they're as well drinking margaritas on the beach! ;)
I'll take happy actors over pointless wallpaper any day. Who knows? Maybe then the next episode they could actually actively participate in the case and....be the heroes. Good trade off?
ReplyDeleteYou forgot the most important part though. The Winchesters turn the no-so-secret lair into a boarding school for hot, clothing-opposed teens who want to be hunters. These teen hunters 2.0 have to deal with learning the basics of hunting while dealing with your typical high school love triangles, pimples on date night, and the ever dreaded algebra. Sam will be in charge of teaching research techniques while Dean will handle PT and weapons training. Garth will make pratfalls for comedy, Krissy will face off against the current hunter Mean Girl, and Adam will be curled in the fetal position in a remote corner of the building cursing the day John Winchester ever met his mother. Hijinks will ensue when some of the new recruits confuse him for a ghost. Most of the episodes will take place in long school hallways and the teens will hunt alone for 20 minutes each episode while Krissy's intrepid team monitors and helps them along.
ReplyDeleteIn all seriousness, I do think they need shorter hours which is why watching them watching the action always ticks me off. They could be getting that time off instead of just being there for reaction shots. I would be fine with them being on screen slightly less if the time they are on screen means a whole lot more. Have them do interviews solo but they them at the center of the action killing evil and saving lives. No wallpaper please. It's a waste of both of their talents.
ReplyDeleteThat's to bad, it would have been a good one, but would need EVERYONE in it, so the Cas haters could vote also. lol These are the ones I would vote for.
ReplyDeleteGhostfacers, Krissy, Sock Puppet, another Bitten ep.. see does not have to be just people.
It has been fun watching him grow up.
ReplyDeleteEven if those news aren't 100% sure, I would like to see Ghostfacers coming back, but not purely in form of comedic relief. When we saw them last time in season 4, they already had more serious knowledge about hunting ghosts. It would be interested to see them as more developed characters, 4 years is long enough to became more mature, stop being only geek caricature.
ReplyDeleteSee I knew I would forget someone...Adam can go on my vote also. ;)
ReplyDeleteMr. Fizzles is a given. My list is far more contentious because it would include Chuck, Missouri, Becky, the Ghostfacers, all angels, Adam, Garth, and yes, I'll say it downvotes be damned...John Winchester. Actually anyone who is currently dead should stay out. I actually would like to see an influx of new characters and see if they can create a winner. They just need to stay within the parameters...the Winchesters are the heart and heroes of the story, canon matters, and secondary characters serve the plot...the plot does not serve the secondary characters. I'm not opposed to a bigger cast. I just don't like the direction they've gone in the last season where the Winchesters are largely wallpaper. It was bad enough when they never could seem to get an unqualified win. Now everyone but them is getting it.
ReplyDeleteHa, I will take JD Morgan any way I can get him, ghost or not. Would not want Becky often, but I liked her better than Charlie. You sure you don't want to do that poll, it would be very interesting, I loved Chuck. lol
ReplyDeleteWow, you like Becky more than Charlie? I cannot conceive of that. I was done with her in her first 2 minutes of screentime. She and Missouri trade off as my least favorite character of all.
ReplyDeleteI'm pretty sure that summer hiatus is the very worst time to do a worst of poll in the SPN fandom. People fight over nothing by the time the hiatus blues really set in. Not sure I want to give them hand grenades and bazookas. I find the summer hellatus come about July in this fandom is generally about 3 winks of sanity above Dean's general view of the world in H2WF&IM.
Dean: "What if the bus wants to go over the cliff?" Sam: "You think the world wants to end?' Dean: "I think that if we didn't take its belt and all its pens away each year that yeah…the whole enchilada would've offed itself already."
Your post made me smile but then I got thr goose-bumps thinking that even if things don't go QUITE as you've described, turning the bunker into a hunter's base or 'road-house' of some kind wouldn't be all that far fetched!
ReplyDeleteThese writers are capable of anything!
LMAO, I can always depend on you for a laugh "grenades and bazookas". Love it. But OK you do have a point..I want you to know it is 6AM here and I have laughed so hard, my African Grey parrot is still covered up and laughing with me. Am so glad you give us 3 winks of sanity about Dean.
ReplyDeleteTrue enough.
ReplyDeleteIf the time they spend on-screen is used well, even if it is less, it's much better than just having a couple of shots of them plastered to a wall, simply to remind us they exist.
I would even be fine having two or three episodes without them if I'm going to get the rest as quality brother eps.
I can always jump the ones i don't like as I do with the Ghostfacers.etc. :)
Not sure I would be fine for them to be completely absent or in it as little as Bitten, but I would be good if one brother had most of the story and the other came in at the beginning and end a la In the Beginning.
ReplyDeleteHa! By the end of August, it is only one wink of sanity above Dean's worldview and there aren't enough distractions in the world for the Supernatural fandom come September.
ReplyDeleteHow about the Winchester Bed and Breakfast? We already know that Dean is becoming a consummate cook and we've seen Sam do a mean hospital fold with his bedding and he has experience in motel maintenance. I think they could become a hit in no time.
ReplyDeleteAt this point I take most of the writers' work as bad fan fiction and so the possibilities are indeed endless.
Can I be the first guest. LOL
ReplyDeleteDean seving me up a hamburger and Sam seeing to my creature comforts would be just fine. :)
X
I'm glad you used the word 'bad' in reference to the official writers because some of the fiction to be found on-line is really well done; much better than the wishy-washy official Supernatural books too.
I've only ever read one but I had t force myself to finish it.
That would be okay for a couple of eps; but it would have to apply to both brothers, each getting their episode in the limelight. :)
ReplyDeleteX
Then I'm all for flash back episodes. Moments out of their past lives where the adult actors would have little to do.
The problem is a 'past Dean'. Colin is perfect but a similarly perfect young Dean seems to be hard to find.
Oh yeah, the teen Dean was gag worthy. Colin Ford is excellent.
ReplyDeleteI'm so glad Colin will be in Under the Dome. Our tv has bought the rights to it too, so we should get it here before long. :)
ReplyDeleteI agree that it would need to be balanced, especially since that's the only way they both get the time off they deserve. I say they each get one. Flash backs are usually pretty awesome but ugh, no Brock Kelly please and they need writers who can handle it. After School Special just sucked out loud.
ReplyDeleteSee, a hit even in the conceptual stage. I have a feeling they would be full to capacity all the time. I am no fan of the novel tie-ins either which is a big shame because I've read some fan fiction that is both novel length and novel worthy. In Reverse by sodakey being the first to come to mind.
ReplyDeleteWell I love them so YAY!!!!!!!!!
ReplyDeleteVery OT because this has nothing to with AJ's tweets: Bruce and Peter, I'm being facetious when I predicted Krissy would be in 3/4 episodes but I wouldn't be surprised if she's in 2 - S9 episodes. I thought Krissy was likeable enough though very smart- mouthed in AIB when she was first introduced because Sam wanted to help her while Dean wanted to focus on hunting leviathans. Then the ending of AIB came, Krissy never said "Thank you, Sam, for at least trying to save my father"; AG just sent Sam to wait at the car, just as Acker/Blacker did with Sam in The Mentalists while Dean had a solo chat (and was thanked) by the TM gal whose name I don't recall. I tolerated it in AIB because the Dean + Krissy scene was important as you said, Peter.
ReplyDeleteThen in F&G the very same thing happened - Sam waited at the car while Krissy & Dean had their important bonding/alone time again. Heck, as part of the "ending" and in Dean's presence, Krissy and Sam could have talked for 15-30 seconds about the value of continuing her plan to go to college to have some normalcy in her life even if she and her roomies decided to keep hunting part-time.
