HBO/Cinemax and The X Files alum
Frank Spotnitz are developing Sam Hunter, a
drama starring Melissa George to air on
Cinemax . A spinoff of Cinemax’s Hunted, the
action series sees George reprising her role as
Sam, a gutsy agent in the murky world of
private espionage. Now on the run from her
former employer, Sam has a price on her head
and a young daughter to protect. She must work as a freelance spy to find out
who wants her dead — and how it connects to the murder of her own mother.
Cinemax is planning to launch Sam Hunter as a four-hour miniseries, which
Spotnitz is currently writing. Cinemax has been looking to keep Hunted alive in
some form since partner BBC One last November opted not to renew the series
for a second season.

I didn't care for Hunted that much. I stayed with it only to see if it got better and because I like those kind of plots. Strike Back on the other hand is an awesome show.
ReplyDeleteLol, all this comparing with Strike Back..
ReplyDeleteI've watched both series and as far as quality goes Hunted tops Strike Back big time.
Strike Back is full with unrealistic plots and 1 dimensional/unrealistic characters. Where you could say Hunted is exactly the opposite (maybe 2-3 unrealistic plots max).
Hope to see season 2 soon, even if it is only 4 eps.
I watched the first season and it was decent, but it did drag quite a bit. I do like Melissa George and may check this out if it comes out
ReplyDeleteCan Melissa George act? I've watched her in so many things and I can never quite work out if she can or can't.
ReplyDeleteALL of BOTH shows are actually unrealistic if you want to get technical lol
ReplyDeleteOther then the fact that the government would react better at this detective agency, Sam making a few weird decisions and the 400(?) year old conspiracy, what else is unrealistic?
ReplyDeleteCompared to Strike Back where every episode is full of bad guys making stupid decisions, good guys solving 'the problem' last minute, good guys walking in obvious traps etc etc. Granted, I still like season 1, but it kept going downhill after that.
I know every show has few unrealistic aspects, or a few leap of faiths you have to make. And there are shows which requires you to believe a lot on faith. But those can still be good if the characters and the plot act realistic. Which SB fails often imo.
This show has potential...I didn't love series 1 but it was watchable and Cinemax did an awesome job with Strike Back so I'm excited for this.
