The company subsequently makes billions of dollars, destroying his life and leaving him publicly humiliated. Jon Hamm, Bill Hader, Philip Baker Hall, Kate Hudson, Michael Keaton, Danny McBride, Eva Mendes, Amy Ryan and J.B. Smoove also star. Directed by Greg Mottola; written by Larry David, Alec Berg, David Mandel and Jeff Schaffer; executive producers, Greg Mottola, Bradley Thomas, Alec Berg, David Mandel and Jeff Schaffer. BOARDWALK EMPIRE returns for its 12-episode fourth season SUNDAY, SEPT. 8 (9:00-10:00 p.m.). Set in the 1920s during Prohibition, this Emmy®- and Golden Globe-winning drama series stars Steve Buscemi as “Nucky” Thompson, the undisputed leader of Atlantic City. The show was created by Terence Winter, who also serves as executive producer with Martin Scorsese, Stephen Levinson, Mark Wahlberg, Tim Van Patten and Howard Korder.

HELLO LADIES begins its eight-episode season SUNDAY, SEPT. 29 (10:30-11:00 p.m.). The new comedy series stars Stephen Merchant as a gawky, 6’ 7” Englishman searching for the woman of his dreams in Los Angeles. Half as charming – and twice as desperate – as he thinks he is, he’s obsessed with infiltrating the glamorous world of beautiful people, who won’t let him in. Stephen Merchant, Lee Eisenberg and Gene Stupnitsky executive produce.

EASTBOUND & DOWN returns for its eight-episode fourth and final season SUNDAY, SEPT. 29 (10:00-10:30 p.m.). Starring Danny McBride and executive produced by Jody Hill, Danny McBride, Will Ferrell, Chris Henchy and Adam McKay, this comedy series tells the story of a star pitcher whose self-destructive behavior knocks him out of major league baseball, leaving him broke, delusional and desperate to regain his former glory.

  1. Yay Boardwalk! The show that every season always starts of a little to slow for me then goes crazy and comes together perfectly, love it.

  2. Eastbound and Down, hell yeah ! I love this show, such excellent dialogue and situations.

Kenny Powers has got to be one of the best characters to have ever existed on television.

So this is "the final season" for real, this time ? Not that I would mind if they did a fifth season, I'd love it, but prior to season 3 they had said it would be the last one (and it certainly could have ended the show), until it wasn't. Now I'm cautious, but if HBO says it in a press release, it's got to be true.

I'm also looking forward to seeing what Stephen Merchant does on his show.

And Boardwalk Empire, obviously, not to be missed. It starts early this year, September 8 when the previous three seasons. I associate this show with Christmas because I always catch up then :).
