Criminal Justice - In Limbo After James Gandolfini's Death

20 Jun 2013

The future of the project, which would have seen Gandolfini star as Jack Stone, a downtrodden jailhouse attorney who frequents police stations for clients, is now in limbo. HBO filmed a pilot on the project and passed before changing course and greenlighting the drama as a miniseries. A new production date had yet to be determined for the retooled effort. A representative for HBO noted it was too soon to know whether the series would move forward or not.

  2. Jesus, at least wait for his body to go cold before speculating about how inconvenient he was for dying.

  3. I sent the scoop in for his death announcement, and you'd think it would have been posted before this.

  4. The death announcement had already been posted in the Gossip Section where news like this belongs: http://www.buzz.spoilertv.com/2013/06/james-gandolfini-has-passed-away.html

  5. Oh My mistake, but usually big death announcements go on the main feed. AMIRIGHT?

  6. I'm sure Klutzy_girl will answer you,but i seem to recall before they came out with the gossip section if there was a death it would be posted in the main feed.

  7. I think that was mostly before the Gossip Section was opened, but I could be wrong.

  8. I mean I wouldn't categorize a death of a beloved TV icon as something for the gossip section. In fact in the years I have been reading this site, I have never once stepped foot into the gossip section. Maybe I'm wrong here but I venture to say that I am not the only one who hasn't and probably wouldn't go to the gossip section here, but would appreciate the main newsfeed to report on an actor's death. Anyway I digress.

  9. Yep,i agree,it is a bit tacky posting it in that section.I do remember one of the last posts here people were complaining that the actors death was posted at all! Go figure, whether its posted they complain, when its not posted people will complain, just can't win..If i'm right it was when Andy Griffin died, but i'm not sure.
Tonight was the second time i was there, but yeah,i never go their either..

  10. I still can't believe it! So sad.(not the TV show development, but the horrible and sudden death of a modern TV legend.)

  13. RIP James, a truly great actor who helped shaped the modern cable drama with his performance.

  14. I think they try to keep the main section for spoilers only and that is likely why it is in the gossip section which is generally for what is happening/happened to the actors, even if it is death.

  15. Yes, it's very sad news. He was an excellent actor and he died way too soon.

  16. Apparently. But rhetorical question.
