Thank you for the promotional pictures. Really excited to see this new season and Annie/Auggie working together and in a romantic relationship. *squeals loudly*

  4. N27: You are very much mistaken. I have watched every show since the beginning. I like Auggie but I have always seen Annie and Auggie as brother/sister type friends. Frankly , I do not understand the forced nature of the Auggie/Annie pairing. The writers seem to be completely ignoring Season 3. Annie loves Simon and continues to grow close with Eyal...now she falls into Auggie's arms, madly in love? Not buying it at all. My opinion and that of many others around the web I have noticed. Instead of a spy show, Covert Affairs is turning into a Harlequin romance. Most unfortunate.

  5. I used to love Covert Affairs, but have no love for the Annie/Auggie pairing. I much prefer Annie on her own with Auggie having her back from Langley. I do not want to see them as a romantic couple, YUCK - the very thought makes me ill. They are not even suited to each other. And yes, before all the arguments start, I have watched every episode of this series from the very beginning. Just because Annie flirts with every man she meets doesn't mean they are meant for each other - this includes Auggie. Frankly, I am not that thrilled with how Auggie's character has changed over the past 2 seasons. In my opinion, CA would be much, much better with much much more of Eyal (Oded Fehr). Only his appearance will keep me tuning in! Corman and Ord - are you listening????

So totally agree with the Eyal/Annie shippers, Eyal & Annie is the reason we watch CA. If it was just Auggie & Annie we would not have bothered. A talented blind actor should have been given the role as Auggie & the series would have been more realistic but to have Auggie in the field is just rubbish, like that Amsterdam hospital fairy tale of Auggie finding Annie's room, oh please..

Apart from the fact that this pending Annie & Auggie relationship is sickening (nil chemistry) & it seems Eyal is not appearing, the odds are our internet book club won't be viewing or voting in any polls for CA, our membership is 5,000. Yes Corman & Ord get a grip don't jump the shark. The ace card is Eyal, much more of the stunning, sizzling hot duo Eyal & Annie, leave the pretend blind guy Auggie at Langley doing protocols & extractions.

Svenska, yes you have seen all the CA episodes, same as our 5,000 internet book club members & we all agree with you, ##yawn## re Anderson & Walker hook up, nil chemistry...Totally mismatch, just forced season 4 relationship for the 18-24yr f/male demographic.

  8. I'm sorry to say that there's nothing about the upcoming season that interests me enough to watch. Like others have stated, I've watched the series since the pilot, and have been a loyal viewer over the last three years; but the way last season ended and the way the upcoming season is shaping up, I don't think I'll be tuning in. The Annie/Auggie relationship does not interest me at all - they're both great friends and have a wonderful friendship; and by putting them together romantically, they're jeopardizing that friendship. Add in the fact that there's no romantic chemistry between these two and there was no build-up to them being together, it's a bad move all around - the relationship is bound not to last; and just because they're friends doesn't automatically mean that they have romantic chemistry. I don't want anything to happen to Annie or Auggie, but I hope they realize the relationship isn't working, it's too complicated, and they remain friends. And looking at these photos - Annie looks like a fangirl/teenager, not like someone who's really in love. And Auggie working with her in the field? That's so utterly ridiculous and completely unrealistic - and this is supposed to be a show that prides itself on its realism? Please. It's being pushed so far into the realm of the unrealistic that fans are starting to see that there's nothing "real" about it and it's not believable. Truthfully, if Auggie was capable of being a field operative, he'd be one - he's not and for obvious reasons. He's too vulnerable and it's too dangerous for him - if it's dangerous for Annie to be in the field, it's ten times more dangerous for Auggie; and he looks pretty helpless when he's in the field. And if Annie saves him in the field, it's not love, it's done out of need. It's ridiculous because Auggie shouldn't be in the field in the first place; and now Annie has to not only focus on her mission, but protecting Auggie from being hurt or killed (which, in real life, would probably happen). Really, it seems like the people who run the show are trying to make it look like the last two seasons never happened, are trying to take the show back to the way it was in the first season, and are repeating storylines to keep the show interesting; and the fact that they're trying to get fans to like Auggie by using him and the Annie/Auggie relationship as their main source of promotion for this season is a poor tact at PR. Not everyone wants to see Annie and Auggie together, and not everyone is a fan of Auggie - everyone watches the show for different reasons, and forcing the fans to like or support something they're not interested in is just bad form. As Lynnsie said, I used to like Auggie as well, but I don't like the way his character's been written lately - I find him now to be desperate and needy, not the confident, self-assured, smart Auggie we saw in the first two seasons. And him giving Annie his army blanket and chasing after her for the latter half of last season? Again, that's not love, that's desperation, and completely proves the "threat theory." Again, there's nothing remotely interesting about this season that makes me want to watch, and that's a shame after being a loyal fan for three years. The only way I'll tune in again is if Eyal returns - he brings so much to the show than anyone else (action, drama, emotion, chemistry, etc.). Alert me when Eyal returns and I will watch again; other than that, there's nothing that interests me enough to watch. Such a shame.

  9. I, for one, am not a fan of the show simply because I found certain aspects of it lacking. I'm sorry, but I can't seem to stop obsessing over Walker's ability to run in high heels while chasing/being chased or just running, whereas all I can muster up is an unattractive Frankenstein gait in said heels.
    But I digress.
Before I go into my musings, let me state for the record that I don't hate A&A, but the romantic relationship that the writers are intent on shoving down the collective throats of the fans is unrealistic. Bordering on "we need ratings, let's try this and see what happens" and so forth.
And considering the age range of the established fan base, I'm guessing few may recall the pairing of main characters on the TV show "Moonlight." Bruce Willis and Cybil Shepherd had a chemistry that was provocative enough, and so strong that fans wanted to see them together. And guess what was building between them as the episodes progress? Sexual tension! Chemistry! A desire that started off in waves until it finally crested, and the writers caved in, taking Maddie and David's relationship to the next level.
I haven't seen that happen with A&A, and yes, I am an Oded Fehr fan so of course I'll be happy to point out that Annie and Eyal had that sexual tension. The building anticipation...the desire that I see lacking with A&A. The only desire that I see with them is the odd thought that Annie would treat/will treat poor Augie like a woobie [security blanket] because so far his character as it's been writting can't give what Annie needs.

While some critics blame that relationship consumation for the demise of Moonlighting the next season, here are some key similarities to CA:

1] fans obsessed with Augie and Annie
fans were obsessed with Maddie and David

2] fans want Augie and Annie to 'get together' despite recent relationship woes
fans wanted David and Maddie to consumate their relationship, because everyone felt that
    they should

3] CA fans easily overlook that A&A's relationship, from what I've seen, has no spark. No zing.
More like two good friends happy to see one another.
David and Maddie's growing attraction was tangible enough, had enough romantic tension that
when they did finally...um, well you know, it was one of the highest rated shows for that series.

My point? I don't see anything credible with the A&A pairing. I haven't seen the increasing sexual tension between them, the desire that would make their consumation that much sweeter. Instead, I see the writers taking the easy path, and capitalizing on what 'the fan base wants.' I see them making Augie into something more just to appease whatever higher order that they answer too, and sadly I believe that this new focus could send CA to the cancellation bin.

  10. I do agree with you, especially on the realism point. They seem to pride themselves on being realistic and then have the characters do completely unrealistic things.

I have been repeatedly frustrated with rushed endings, plot holes, script gaps where the actors are left to fend for themselves and yet I have watched for three seasons. Why? Sometimes they get it right. Last season was so much better, especially the latter part. Every time Oded Fehr shows up the story is compelling to watch and he and Piper are really good together.

I too get the feeling that they are trying to steer the story back to the first season, which imho was a little weak at times. On top of that, I find the Auggie/Annie relationship forced and frankly unpleasant due to their sibling-type friendship. Maybe the actors are great friends and on set they ooze attraction, but for me it does not seem that way watching it on my screen every week. Leaves me cold and ...well...it's all a bit 'hinky'.

  11. You people are stupid and clearly haven't payed close attention to the show, Annie has clearly had feelings for Auggie for a while, same as Auggie. Look at her reaction when he told her he was going to ask Parker to marry him and when he told her he was going to visit Parker on her Peace Corps mission. Or how she was with him when they were posing as a couple. There were times before and after that too but i'm not going to write it out because it's too much. Auggie didn't like the idea of Annie having feelings for Eyal which she clearly doesn't, she only sees him as a friend. Simon is dead. Ben is gone and she's over him, good too since he was an annoyance.

If you people don't like the show and are trying to down a couple that a lot of people like then don't watch it. And don't bring up your internet book club whatever members because i don't care. ####YAWN####

jj of course we will always mention our internet book club in posts like this as the comments are from a collective group and not a post based on one's person's view. The problem you face is if Annie & Auggie hook up now it won't last, hopefully you do realise that. Perhaps you don't and we don't really care ###yawn###. Not sure why you are of the opinion she doesn't have feelings for Eyal, wonder why she has risked her life to save someone she doesn't have feelings for.
Auggie and Annie are just on the rebound at the moment, not a good emotional time to hook up.
