hard choice as some shows have only had one season (and int he case of Cult only 13 episodes, half of which haven't even aired) and others multiple seasons. My vote has to go for Supernatural as it's still on the air and still pretty watchable (even if the storylines are getting a bit weak now)... if Arrow had been around longer and was still of the same quality as it's first season then it would have got my vote.
Nikita. Even if the third season was somewhat weaker than the first 2, it is truly an amazing and woefully under-appreciated show. I'll miss it so much after those final 6 episodes roll.
Used to be a HUGE fan of SPN and TVD, but I feel both shows are a hollow shell of what they once were, which is sad. I signed off TVD after Season 3 and off SPN after Season 5.
Nikita, definitely. I'm not saying that just because it's my all-time favorite show now, but because I've watched (or tried) to watch the others and I eventually gave up on each of them. Unlike Nikita, the writing just keeps going down.
If this was 5 years ago I would vote for Supernatural....but the last few seasons have been pretty boring to darn right awful IN MY OPINION. Season 7 in particular was nearly unwatchable trash.
If based on first seasons, number 1 is Arrow, followed by Supernatural, and then maybe Ringer... Because I have not seen any of the other shows.
definitely arrow. then i would probably say ringer. that was a shock cancellation for me, i really thought the show could've gotten a second season (on fridays???)... if the carrie diaries could get a second season then why couldn't ringer? ah well, all that aside, i'm definitely excited for the tomorrow people and the hundred (unsure about star-crossed).
Ringer is a genre show? It's a drama show for me. A year ago I would've chosen SPN but S8 made me do something I never thought I would - stop watching. I'm rewatching Buffy and Angel now, and up until last year, I would've considered SPN to be on par with them in terms of my favorite shows, but now I can't see even myself wanting to watch previous seasons of SPN anytime soon.
Thus from the current poll, Arrow comes first for me with TVD second.
CW was in a different situation the year before. They had more returning shows they could count on but both GG and 90210 since ended. I think they don't have the budget to promote more than 3 new fall shows and they couldn't release a fall schedule with reruns, thus I think TCD was renewed. I think Ringer would've been renewed had it premiered this year instead of last year and TCD would've been cancelled had it premiered the year before instead of this year. Either way, I hope SMG's new sitcom does well..
yeah, I'm definitely excited for the crazy ones, as well as the michael j fox show. i think both those two new comedies will certainly be my pick for being renewed for season 2, as well as back in the game, the goldbergs (if abc gives us good storylines) and brooklyn 99. sadly, i think us and them will get the goodwin games treatment.
I don't watch comedies personally. Not enough time and I'd rather spend my time on drama shows, but I wish SMG success. Watching Buffy again reminded me what a good actress she was even before she turned 20, and I hope The Crazy Ones does well for her.
I love Nikita, Arrow and, to some extent, TVD, but I have to go with The Secret Circle. I still miss it and I still think it was something special that should have gotten a new season.
Supernatural, seasons 1-7, was to me the greatest of genre shows with characters and plots that grabbed my attention from the get-go. It has been my greatest TV obsession and was my favorite show for 7 years. Arrow, which had the best season finale I have seen in a long time, and Nikita, which is one of the best action shows on TV, would get my vote too if we were able to vote for more than one.
I was surprised by how much I laughed during the Goldbergs teaser. I don't usually watch a lot of comedy but this year's crop seems a lot better than the past few year's. I have a feeling my comedy to drama TV ratio this year will be less lopsided than usual.
I have been a strong Supernatural cheerleader for 7 years, ever since the night the pilot aired, but I too am giving up SPN next year. I can't watch my formerly amazing show get trashed right and let. I completely understand where you are coming from. I am sorry that this season has tarnished your view of the earlier seasons as well. For me, it is the opposite. I cherish those earlier seasons even more and I am finding great satisfaction in them, sometimes more than previously, in my rewatch for the podcasts. I voted for SPN in this because as a whole I still think it is the best genre show, even above Buffy (which I am also rewatching right now) and X-Files. It helps that there came a time in both those shows also where I simply could not watch anymore.
Smallville is definitely a genre show. I think it is not in here because while it ended in 2011, it seems like this poll includes only shows that were around in the 2011-2012 TV season or later.
I agree. I stopped watching Supernatural after season seven ended, mainly because I remember what it used to be in seasons one through five, and six and seven just could not compare. I think I've re-watched seasons one and five the most.
I enjoy Arrow, TVD and BATB, but my absolute favourite is Beauty and the Beast! Because is has the action, suspense, drama, and romance all without the writers having to revert to the typical will-they-won't-they, soapy crap that so many other show runners shove down our throats and we have to tolerate for multiple seasons before the good stuff starts! :)
NOTE: Name-calling, personal attacks, spamming, excessive self-promotion, condescending pomposity, general assiness, racism, sexism, any-other-ism, homophobia, acrophobia, and destructive (versus constructive) criticism will get you BANNED from the party.

ReplyDeletebeauty and the beast !! :) :)
ReplyDeleteIt's a tie between Arrow and Supernatural
ReplyDeleteNikita. Even if the third season was somewhat weaker than the first 2, it is truly an amazing and woefully under-appreciated show. I'll miss it so much after those final 6 episodes roll.

I couldn't agree more!!
ReplyDeleteIf we are talking supernatural as a whole then yes, it's amazing. But recently it has to go to arrow, consistently amazing television
ReplyDeleteSPN all the way for me
ReplyDeleteThe only good show on CW at the moment is Nikita. Supernatural was also great, but only for 3-4 seasons.
ReplyDeletehttp://en.wiktionary.org/wiki/genre , and Nikita I guess.
ReplyDeletedefinitely arrow. then i would probably say ringer. that was a shock cancellation for me, i really thought the show could've gotten a second season (on fridays???)... if the carrie diaries could get a second season then why couldn't ringer? ah well, all that aside, i'm definitely excited for the tomorrow people and the hundred (unsure about star-crossed).
ReplyDeleteThe Secret Circle for sure.. that show was great and had so much promise.
ReplyDeleteNikita! =)
ReplyDeleteSPN, Arrow and Nikita are my favorites. But TVD can be good too ;)
ReplyDeleteRinger is a genre show? It's a drama show for me.

Supernatural ! Arrow and Nikita are great but not amazingly great like the Winchester Bros ride :)
ReplyDeleteSupernatural of course!!!
ReplyDeleteTRUER WORDS HAVE NOT BEEN SPOKEN!

ReplyDeleteSmallville (always counted it as a genre show),SPN. TVD all 3 probably deserve the title.
ReplyDeleteBeauty & the Beast :)

ReplyDeleteGreat way to sum it up. This is exactly how I feel too. Arrow, especially in the second half, has really shone bright this season.
ReplyDeleteRinger debuted in the wrong year and SMG's pregnancy didn't help either. I'm just glad she has a chance on another show with a larger budget.
ReplyDeleteI was surprised by how much I laughed during the Goldbergs teaser. I don't usually watch a lot of comedy but this year's crop seems a lot better than the past few year's. I have a feeling my comedy to drama TV ratio this year will be less lopsided than usual.

ReplyDeleteSupernatural
ReplyDeleteSupernatural <3
ReplyDeleteIt's not a hard choice for me: Beauty And The Beast is the BEST!
ReplyDeleteSupernatural...!!!!!...hands down for me. x x x
ReplyDeleteBeauty & The Beast best show on the CW !!!
ReplyDeleteSupernatural is overall the best show, but since 2011 i give it to Nikita
ReplyDeleteSupernatural !
ReplyDeleteIt has to be BEAUTY AND THE BEAST for me.
ReplyDeleteDefinitely Nikita.
ReplyDeleteBeauty and the Beast!!!!!
ReplyDeletearrow for me.
ReplyDeletebtw you missed one tree hill.
I voted Nikita.
ReplyDeleteI agree. I stopped watching Supernatural after season seven ended, mainly because I remember what it used to be in seasons one through five, and six and seven just could not compare. I think I've re-watched seasons one and five the most.
ReplyDeleteThe only shows I watch on this list are Arrow and BATB. BATB gets my vote because Vincent and Cat are perfect.
ReplyDeleteArrow!
ReplyDeleteSPN and Nikita as for me they have been excellent for several seasons...
ReplyDeleteEasy, SUPERNATURAL for 8 years.
ReplyDeleteI enjoy Arrow, TVD and BATB, but my absolute favourite is Beauty and the Beast!
