Two roles on CBS‘ new comedy series The Millers will be recast. I’ve learned that Michael Rapaport and Mary Elizabeth Ellis are leaving Greg Garcia’s multi-camera show starring Will Arnett as Nathan Miller, a recently divorced local roving news reporter looking forward to living the singles’ life until his parents’ marital problems unexpectedly derail his plans. After Nathan finally breaks the news of his divorce to his parents, Carol (Margo Martindale) and Tom (Beau Bridges), his father is inspired to follow suit and stuns the family when he leaves his wife of 43 years. Carol moves in with Will, while Tom moves in with Will’s sister Debbie and her husband — roles that were played in the James Burrows-directed pilot by Ellis and Rapaport and will now be recast. CBS TV Studios is producing.

And that's 5.
ReplyDeleteMary Elizabeth Ellis couldn't stand not being able to break Charlie's heart on It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia. Makes me thing, I really hope they reveal the name of the Waitress in the series finale, hopefully in a long, long time (when a show is still this good in season 8, you can't really complain about the 2-season renewal). Anyway, still interested in The Millers because of Greg Garcia + Will Arnett, that's a perfect combo right there, and Margo Martingale doesn't hurt, too bad it's multicam.
ReplyDeleteI hate that recast thing, though. Well, hen they said the mom on Surviving Jack would be recast, I wasn't upset because she felt like the weakest part of the cast, not really bringing something in front of Christopher Meloni, but NBC's Family Guide best asset was Parker Posey and she left ; NBC's Sean Saves the World had Lindsay Sloane and she was replaced too, leaving me with no interest in either of these shows, period.
#4 and #5....
ReplyDeleteTher are a lot of recasts this year.
