Predict which shows will be renewed/cancelled 2013/14 - FOX Edition

As you know each year prior to the any episodes airing we ask the knowledgeable SpoilerTV Community to try an predict which shows will be Renewed and which ones Cancelled.

Last year we had an 80% success rate that you can see here in this table.

With FOX yesterday announcing their schedule (See here) it's time again to see if you can predict which shows will be renewed/cancelled.

There are 2 Polls below. One for Renewals and one for Cancellations. In each poll select the show(s) that you think will either be renewed/cancelled and then press vote.

Before the season starts we will collate all the predictions and post the table that we'll update during the 2013/14 season to see how your predictions went.

Can we beat 80%?

    Hard to say would love Almost Human to be a hit but lets face it sci-fi has a uphill struggle but still if Touch could get a second season then hopefully this show will.

    And Touch was TERRIBLE, but still managed to get a second season.


    Terra Nova was TERRIBLE and probably would have gotten a second season if it was not so expensive to produce....


    I think FOX wants (and maybe needs) a new Sci-Fi drama and the bar is fairly low for renewal honestly. Getting a third season seems to be the tough part with FOX Sci-Fi series...

    Hah yeah they were both bad, I think Alcatraz struggled because it started mid-season which is never good for those kind of shows. I hope Almost Human is both good and gets another season!

    I think "24" and "Glee" should be removed as options, seeing as how "Glee" is already renewed for Season 6 and the "24" revival is considered a 12-part limited event series.

    Why do I not watch or why do I find it amazing?


    I quit watching because every episode started to feel the same to me. I generally cannot watch a procedural series more than 2 or 3 years before I get bored..


    I find the idea amazing because of the symmetry between the number of bones in the body and that there would be the same number of episodes in Bones!

    As much as I would like Bones to get a 10th season, I think it will be canceled, especially if it stays on Fridays.

    That's pretty much why I struggle with it... but I reckon it won't last much longer so I persevere but find myself doing other things while it's on.

    Terra Nova was terrible till the last 2-3 episodes which were awesom but came way too late to save it.
    I hope Almost Human has a chance... looks great and good cast too.

    Not sure it will actually air of Fridays given other shows will tank early however if it does "overperform" there I have no doubt we will get our 206 episodes :)

    As much as I'm wanting the new show taking its place on Mondays (which I know is wrong, but oh well), I'm not getting my hopes up.


    And I'm also going into next season as if it's the last, given the track record of the ratings of shows once they had been moved to Fridays.

    Veterans:

    New Girl: Renewal
    Bones: I have a hard time deciding on this one... Even if it is moved to fridays (and that is a big if), it has a very good shot at becoming king of fridays. Contracts are up though, so that is very tricky. Ultimately canceled I would say
    The Mindy Project: Renewal... If it was renewed as freshman when it had no business at all being renewed, why wouldn't it be renewed as sophmore? I will be shocked again when it happens though
    Raising Hope: Canceled... It will do okayish on fridays especially if it does have the bones lead-in, but not enough to justify getting it to 100 episodes, especially because enlisted will bomb and they would need to invest in a new companion show for it.
    The Following: Renewal
    Glee has already been renewed and I don't comment on the animated shows

    New Fall Shows:

    Sleepy Hollow: I think I will like it, but the concept does not seem broad enough for broadcast TV and Fox has no reason to be patient with such a huge bench of replacements. Canceled
    Almost Human: I think this one will work a la first season of Fringe. Renewed
    Dads: Canceled. It looks bad and Shield will murder it
    Brooklyn Nine-Nine: It looks very good, but going against Shield and a lead-in that I predict that it will fail is just not good. I say canceled, although there is a chance that if it builds a bit on Dads Fox moves it to Wednesdays to try it out there. But still canceled is my prediction
    Enlisted: Canceled


    New Unscheduled Shows:
    Rake: Canceled
    Surviving Jack: Canceled
    Us and Them: I thin it has a decent shot at renewal for a midseason show, but depends on where it lands. Ultimately canceled though


    Apparently, Gang Related and 24 are summer bound so I won't predict those

    The problem is that they show is likely getting too expensive and contracts harder and harder to negotiate (even though it also has a known nice syndication deal). However, as far as friday goes, I could see the show becoming king of fridays. It has a very loyal audience - if any show can survive a friday move it is bones. Plus, it will have way lower competition in there (abc comedies, undercover boss and dateline). It could thrive (for friday standards). If it is enough to go to the trouble and costs of renewing it or not, remains to be seen. Of course, it may not even be moved to fridays to begin with!

    They have said that 24 could be renewed for limited event series if it works. But it is a summer show, as is Gang Related, so I don't think they should be here either. Neither should Glee, of course.

    I think Almost Human has a shot. Fringe did reasonably well for FOX during its first two seasons if I recall correctly! I am predicting Almost Human to be renewed. I think they will avoid too heavy serialization elements until later on the show's life, a la fringe.

    I bet Bones will be renewed to complete the 206 episodes -in reference to the 206 bones of the human body. It woud be pretty cool.

    Only considering the new Fall shows......


    Renewed
    Almost Human (the only new "hit" of the FOX Fall drama line up)
    Brooklyn 9-9 (squeaks out a renewal)
    Sleepy Hollow (Solid enough to get a renewal)


    Cancelled
    Dads (I don't find it funny, but I don't find any show on FOX funny)
    Enlisted (When will people realize the Stults brothers should not be on TV?)
    Gang Related (this season's Chicago Code -Skews too old for FOX))

    My feeling is that if FOX had found another hit series to anchor the network they would not be bringing 24 back. So if this season's new dramas do very well I do not expect a second short run mini-series of 24. However, if the new dramas fail, 24 v3.0 is greenlit.
