I was really tempted to say the ending "To be Continued" card just because it made me laugh. However, I went with Team Grimm facing the zombie horde instead.
I had to go with the last scene, of seeing Nick in the coffin. Although the whole episode was good, it was the twist at the end and the tease of what it might lead to next season that made the episode for me.
The ending card. Best scene in the entire episode(and that's quite hard to achieve since the episode had a LOT of priceless scenes)...also most likely the BEST season-ending scene this year :P
I went with other. My favorite scene was Nick giving Rosalee the key and then the camera showing her put it in the hiding spot where she has multiple passports and a stack of cash. Makes me wonder what else she has going on. It played pretty straightforward; however, passports and all that cash, plus knowing she has a link to a secret society...
I went with Nick in the coffin...how he wound up there was a little frustrating, but that moment worked for me.
I realized we were rolling to a 'to be continued' situation and, during a commercial break, idly how the were going to top the apology from last season. What they did was hysterical.
I hope to see the scope of the royal family and get more information about the Resistance next year. They pretty much have to get start season 3 in Europe so that makes me think the show is going to dynamically grow in scope next season.
Generally Adalind scenes make me mentally fast forward, but I laughed out loud at the Wizard of Oz reference. Should be interesting to see where Adalind fits into the politics of next season.
I thought the romance scenes were decent because they were so short and did not take much time away from the main plot. A taste of romance offset by lots of action is my favorite combination.
The potential for where the story can go was actually more of a favorable thing than the scene itself. I expected Nick to become a zombie but I had no idea he was going to be shipped off until the middle of the episode. It leaves the show prime to expand its world and that is exciting to see.
I would really love to see more of Rosalee's background and her place in the larger Wesen world due to her family's background. There is a lot of fodder for good story there and of course any extra Rosalee time is good for me.
Oh! I hadn't consciously thought of that angle (the Wesen World View - sorry...couldn't help but phrase it that way. Made myself laugh.) But that idea is intriguing enough to stop my hoping they get Nick back to Portland in under 3 episodes. Though...you realize that while they're in Europe searching for Nick that Monroe, Hank, et al will by in Portland trying to cover for him. :-D
Wesen World View - ha! I love that and I might steal it in the fall with my recaps. :-P I actually expect to see Monroe, Hank, etc. traveling to Europe once they figure out what happened to Nick. That should be pretty easy to do since Renard has the name Nick's body is traveling under. After all Hank has a lot of vacation days stored up and there's nothing that would tie Monroe to Portland so much that he can't take a week or two off.
NOTE: Name-calling, personal attacks, spamming, excessive self-promotion, condescending pomposity, general assiness, racism, sexism, any-other-ism, homophobia, acrophobia, and destructive (versus constructive) criticism will get you BANNED from the party.

ReplyDelete"Oh, come on. You knew this was coming" .... can't wait to find out more about the Royal Family next season.
ReplyDeleteRosalee getting romantic with Monroe, woging into the cute Fuchsbau she is.
ReplyDeleteI liked the ending with the group facing zombies and the "to be continued". And the romantic scenes at the beginning.
