I'd love to know more about what it means in regards to Philip, Mulan, and Aurura. Will we see them with him too, at least during the first episodes of next season?
Oh god why. The cast is already too bloated with characters. Belle gets sidelined for five to six episodes at a time, and the Charmings pretty much exist just to tell Emma her plans are bad.
This makes sense, his character has so many open story lines, plus he's Henry's father. The last two episodes were pretty much about. Im glad, it allows for some contunity, plus hook and rumple can re build their relationship w him. Plus can't wait to see him home in the enchanted forest!
well let's just hope that with the introduction of him as a series regular that he not just there for credits sake and actually appears in most episodes (unlike Red who wasn't in much episodes in season 2). In fact, I think Red appeared more in Season 1 than Season 2.
So who are the main and recurring cast now in Season 3? Lemme give this a crack- Main: Snow White, Emma, Prince Charming, Regina, Henry, Neal, Belle, Rumplestiltskin, Greg, Tamara, Hook Recurring: Aurora, Mulan, Phillip, Grumpy, Anton, Ruby, Marco, Dr Whale, Pinocchio, Blue Fairy, Smee, Peter Pan, Wendy, Archie, Jefferson, Robin Hood, Albert Spencer, Granny, Young Snow White, Cora (in flashbacks), any character in OUAT in Wonderland???
Anyone missing? What do you think will happen to Sidney Glass, Cinderella/Ashley, Thomas/Sean and Kathryn and Fredrick?
Well, there's regular and then there's regular. Emma, Gold, Regina, Snow, & Charming are regular characters. Every other series regular should probably be listed with the "regular" part in quotes or maybe with an asterisk instead.
well henry's also regular without the quotes... as is Neal and Hook. I guess every other 'regular' cast member will probably appear in about half the episodes anyway...
that's a very large cast! and on top of those, aren't they introducing more characters, such as Ariel, Aladdin and Rapunzel?
doubtful that Robin Hood will be recurring, and maybe Greg and Tamara will be recurring, depending on how long the Neverland storyline will last (which is possibly all the episodes til the break)...
Even Henry doesn't get close to the screen time the others get, especially with child labor laws and such. There's a strict limit to how much he can work. Neal wasn't technically a series regular until this announcement. As for Hook, I'll concede that he probably should be counted in with the other legit regulars.
but isn't that show 'Believe' in the midseason so maybe she can film both (especially if the Aurora/Mulan/Phillip/Neal scenes are prior to the Christmas break)...
So probably next season, at least the first half, will have little in the way of Storybrooke. Maybe Ruby's absence won't be noticeable. And if, heaven forbids, Intelligence doesn't go beyond a 13 episode run, Ory could get right in time for the second, hypothetically Storybook centered, half of the season.
both will debut in the fall? are you sure- cause as far as I know, Believe will debut next year after the 2014 Winter Olympics- https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Believe_(TV_series)
i dont know what to feel about him i hate that he is henry`s father and at the same time beaelfire.... not happy about it! hope he gets killed by an ogre on EF
both mulan and aurora got a show this year one is in mixology and the other on believe but i think both of them are midseasons maybe they can shot the episodes they need for OUAT
Not surprising. So far I'm kind of neutral when it comes to Neal.I think MRJ is great,I like young Bae but when it comes to Neal,I'm not so sure yet. I'm glad that he'll be a regular though.I'd love to see him reuniting with his father and, after the season finale,Hook.I loved the flashbacks and it's one relationship I'd like to see explored more. And also, the writer's haven't been exactly secretive about the love triangle coming up.So,his promotion makes sense.
I was hoping they would keep him apart from the participiants of Operation Let's Save Henry for a while but this doesn't look like they will... Unless we are to stay more with Aurora, Phillip and Mulan which is not very likely with the actors all having other shows as well. Anyways he knows more about Neverland and I am actually curious how he will fit into the family dynamic...
In a way I'm really glad because I like Neal, his story was far from over and I want more Gold/Neal and (since the final) Neal/Hook (even if I don't see MRJ as a old Bae because they really look like two different charactrs to me) but I'm afraid they'll pursue the Neal/Emma ship and I don't want that :(:(:(
It's possible that her Believe character might not be long for the season. I haven't read anything much that says she is meant to be a series regular, just that she joined the Believe Pilot...
But they could easily kill he off or find a creative way to "remove" her if need be, but I'm not 100% convinced yet if Mulan, *Philip, and Aurora are "current" either, even though I hope they are for Regina's story's sake...
No Josh is right, "Believe" (NBC) is for mid season (currently at a stupid time 9 on Sundays). Jamie Chung is in the Pilot (but I honeslyt don't know if she's going to be in it the whole season).
If she's a series regular for Believe, there could be a conflict. -But it's also possible that OUAT could kill her off, or "magically" remove her from the forefront of the story!
I was referring to both Once Upon A Time.I meant they will be shown on Thursday (wonder) and on Sunday Once.I somehow missed that he was referring to 'Believe'. :P
If this is their past... Much like LOST's Island (a time machine) they hinted at playing with "time and space" with Henry's prophecy picture. As much as I wanted Aurora to have "found" Philip from 'the after life' (Because I think it would be nice in the end if Regina could work and deserve being reunited with Daniel), I could this being a catch 22- time fold, where this for Mulan, Philip, and Aurora is Before the events of season 2...
I really hope this means that Emma and Neal will be together eventually. There's something about them that I really like. JMo and MRJ seem very comfortable together and have really good chemistry. I think the writers are heading in the Hook/Emma direction though which...no. I hope they don't give in and pander to the fans of that ship just because it's popular. I wouldn't buy any scenario where Emma genuinely falls for him. Anyway, Neal/Emma!
Once Upon a Time certainly has enough logic problems without getting into Lost's plot missteps. So hopefully the don't do that. Within the current timeline, all three of them have only been together once, in the season 2, premiere.
Compared with other actors, even young ones, who have played different versions of characters, there's always something in them that we can see to compare to the later character. MRJ has an easier job than they do because he should be informed by the previous character and there's just zero of Baelfire in him at all.
Well I can understand how that would quantum mechanically work, but I still think it would be better for now to get back to something a little steadier and straight forward.
About Mulan, Aroura, and Philip. Yeah. I know, but we don't know exactly what their story was before then, except at some point Belle helps Mulan turn Philip back into being Philip, which is why I could see them using one stone to kill to birds with the idea of this being their story, while also then moving the current story forward, but again, I would agree that it would be better to not do that. I'm still hoping Regina can at least reach Daniel elsewhere without him being demented or in pain...
"And also, having Regina be able to reach Daniel is pretty much against what the entire show is about.
It would no longer necessarily be "if" Philip is alive/Resurrected (and normal), because then the writers game change and say, guess what you can get people back (and there for you don't have to fear death - which gives characters reasons to not act in poor taste). It might take a certain method or a "test" in order to do it too (like Indiana Jones or His Dark Materials), which would also then further challange Regina, should she seek it.
I also think the Sleeping Curse is a type of "false death", and that the idea of "floors and rooms" in an Ethereal plane play to "levels" in a type of after life...There could be a "underworld" or something and I could see Neverland being associated with it somehow since there are some Lost parallels already.
Cora: And what stakes do you have in their cause, Princess? It’s not as though you’d travel back with them. Oh… What a sweet, misguided notion. Did you really think you could have a life there? Find another prince? You’ve forgotten Phillip already.
Aurora: Phillip is in my heart every moment of every day. If there was anything I could do to bring him back, I would.
Cora: Is that so? What if I told you that when a wraith consumes a soul, it merely travels to another realm? But that soul could be brought back to this world? Show me a little courtesy, and I may explain how.
------------
The issue is we don't know what death actually is on ONCE, but the idea of soul sucking and traveling to another realm does not mean that Neverland doesn't have an association with "death (Lost - "This Place is DEATH!"/ "Heart" of the Island = life, death, and rebirth)
Even the curse created new incarnations of these people (again could be perceived as "a type of death and rebirth")
Considering these guys continue in vein of Bad Robot and LOST, it seems likely their definition of death is "transitional" and creates infamous rebirths. If they want to be different than Lost then they will not end in a transition of death but expand and move beyond it, which finding people again who have died is one way to do that. The show will keep "expanding" on concepts in order to point out no one character knows all there is (and therefor neither does the audience) it then is never boring and is more mysterious.
I really really hope that's not where they're going. But Lost's pop philosophy failure is not a place to start.
I don't really understand what you're trying to say about Phillip. Phillip isn't dead. His soul left his body, temporarily but his body is alive. Daniel's body IS NOT alive. In fact, his body doesn't exist anymore.
It's not pop philosophy it's Eastern Philosophy and Ancient Egyptian Philosophy. "Heart" in AE is the door way into the collective conscience. Collective conscience in metaphysical philosophies play the idea that collective conscience (once essence, spirit, soul, and identity) is what drives all physical matter. In Ancient Egyptian after life, they are placed, challenged, and then reborn back into the corporeal world. Many newer Pharaohs are thought be reincarnated Pharaohs that came before...
My point about Philip is that it still represents a stage of death as having any essence be ripped from your soul is a type of death or near death state to be. It's the idea that death isn't final, which we also already got wind since even Daniel's consience came back temporarily from "elsewhere" -suggesting there is and elsewhere, despite that the characters to not know how to get there in their corporeal states of existence, and/or that the method Regina used was a bad one.
Once has has established many living dead concepts so far, paving the way for life beyond and/or in stages of death and not supporting "finalization"
Yes, I understand philosophy. But applying it to a television show that doesn't even try to make sense for 42 minutes is useless.
And no. It may be a "stage" of semi-death. But it ISN'T DEATH. Because DEATH IS FINAL. That was the actual point of The Doctor and In the Name of the Brother. The entire point.
They established THAT in "specific instance(s)" of bringing them back through using another's heart was wrong. -Just like there were people who could enter see Storybrook when it was created, as the mythos continues to expand, as no character has "the whole truth" of the nature of magic, life, morality, of death...it's a learning process.
It depends on what the point actually is and if death and or being with the dead is a bad thing or not. We really don't know that, we only know that so far "the ways in which" the characters have gone about it are morally wrong, but that doesn't mean that there isn't a moral way to get to where or what they want to....
yeah, I get it. I don't think whether it's moral or not matters. It's unnatural and would have the potential to negate everything. So there's zero point in examining 'redemption' as a theme, something they very clearly want to do, if everyone that has been killed can just come alive again.
Yes but redemption in theological context tends to point to "a reword". I'm going by the instruction of this book, doctrine, laws of the universe, ect, because by doing certain things I will be rewarded, including my placement in the next life and who waits for me there.
If in the Daniel back to life scene, they would have had him comfort her and given the knowledge to know they could be together again and not to worry, then I would think she is completely meant to move on, but instead they made him seem disturbed and upset, as he begged her to move on, giving her little reassurance of anything.
If these are fate orientated universes (something bigger than them are driving them for a reason), then it is about getting to a more ethical place in order to be happy (or happier).
I don't think they should do it until towards the end of the series, nor do I think it should be an easy task, but I do think if Regina works hard enough for her family (and herself), and if she doesn't find someone else (i would ok with Hook at this point), then I think she deserves a way to more pleasantly say goodbye, meet Daniel in the after life breifly, or be with him in the very end. --This idea I really liked on Felicity, as the 3rd time line was not the time line Felicity came from, but yet another one, where Alana was alive and with Tracey at Noel's wedding. It made what Felicity went through to understand herself that much more special, because she was able to get to a better place and right a wrong of another character (a character who should really be Regina's cousin)
Last night in ABC's schedule that was listed it has both OUat and OUaT in Wonderland on two different nights They list OUaT in Wonderland at 8pm on Thursday nights and on Sunday ONUaT at 8pm.its here look towards the bottom of the page. http://www.spoilertv.com/2013/05/abc-new-shows-201314-mega-post.html

Yes! I've been hoping for this since I love Neal.

ReplyDeleteBEST NEWS OF THE DAY
Well, I guess it's a given, but hell yeah Nealfire!!! :D

Anyone missing? What do you think will happen to Sidney Glass, Cinderella/Ashley, Thomas/Sean and Kathryn and Fredrick?
Greg and Tamara are not a part of the main cast. They're recurring.
ReplyDeleteSO happy! I LOVE Neal!!! MRJ deserves this he is a great actor and amazing addition to the cast!! GOOD call Adam & Eddy!!
ReplyDeleteYAY! More Nealfire! :D
ReplyDeleteAnd this pretty much proves that he's not dead XD
Well, there's regular and then there's regular.
ReplyDeleteEmma, Gold, Regina, Snow, & Charming are regular characters. Every other series regular should probably be listed with the "regular" part in quotes or maybe with an asterisk instead.
well henry's also regular without the quotes... as is Neal and Hook. I guess every other 'regular' cast member will probably appear in about half the episodes anyway...
ReplyDeleteI actually wonder what will happen with Mulan since Jaime Chung is apparently a regular on NBC's Believe
ReplyDeletebut isn't Believe in the midseason- so they may not start shooting the rest of the episodes til the 2nd half of the year?
ReplyDeleteso it's possible Mulan can be recurring next year and appear in most of the episodes prior to the midseason break
that's a very large cast! and on top of those, aren't they introducing more characters, such as Ariel, Aladdin and Rapunzel?

ReplyDeleteThey will need a new Mulan because i believe that actress got a new show.
ReplyDeleteNo they changed it up.Both will begin in the fall on different nights,as of now, they would always change their mind again!
ReplyDeletebut isn't that show 'Believe' in the midseason so maybe she can film both (especially if the Aurora/Mulan/Phillip/Neal scenes are prior to the Christmas break)...
ReplyDeleteI think we aren't going to see her and we will probaby see a little bit of Aurora/Phillip in the first episode.
ReplyDeleteAlmost all characters have a connection with Bae. The curse itself was created for Rumpel find Bae.
ReplyDeleteBae is one of the pivotal characters...
And Emma exists only to prop Regina, Neal and Hook.
ReplyDeleteIf they put Neal together with Emma, I'm done with the show.
And they are probably going to disappear in the first episodes because Tamara is now a regular in The Walking Dead.
ReplyDeleteYES!!! HE'S ALLLLIIIVVVE!!!
ReplyDeleteWait, does that mean we will see Mulan, Aurora and Phillip more next season?
ReplyDeleteYAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAY!!
ReplyDeletehe's alive! he's alive! HE'S ALIVE!!!!!
I'm so happy I love Neal and was hoping they would make him a regular.
Thank u ABC :D
No wonder she looked familiar! Oh, then yeah, Tamara is going to bite it (ha) soon in OUAT then.
ReplyDeleteUnless she bites it first on TWD.
Yeah, Hook also didn't get that much screentime last season, but maybe this season he will get more.
ReplyDeleteSo probably next season, at least the first half, will have little in the way of Storybrooke. Maybe Ruby's absence won't be noticeable. And if, heaven forbids, Intelligence doesn't go beyond a 13 episode run, Ory could get right in time for the second, hypothetically Storybook centered, half of the season.

ReplyDeleteWonderful and expected news.... I mean I would have been VERY surprised if he wasn't promoted.
ReplyDeleteMore likely ''it'' bites her. ;)
ReplyDeleteHer show olis a midseason show. She should be available during the first half of the season.
ReplyDeleteYay! I love Neal. Hope this means we'll get to see more Aurora, Philip and Mulan too;)
ReplyDeleteBae has always been the reason why Rumpel created the curse and involved, all characters.
ReplyDeleteI glad that MRJ will be regular next season :)

Megan Ory is officially out, so if she appears it will have to be as "special guest star". I think we'll be lucky to see her once in season 3.

ReplyDeleteBlech. i wish they had gotten a better actor. Seeing Neal and Dylan Schmid playing the same character just hammers home how inadequate MRJ is.
ReplyDelete"current" how?
ReplyDeleteYet the show managed without him.
ReplyDeleteYes,Believe is a mid season replacement.Unless they hanged it since yesterday?

ReplyDeleteYa! I figured. I'm surprised by ABC's move though and OUAT in WONDELAND looks good!
ReplyDeleteSorry Joshua i didn't mean to confuse,i thought you were talking about both OUaT,not Believe and Ounce.Sorry!
ReplyDeleteOver on TNT Jeff Pinkner has hooked up with Spielberg about ,well go see for yourself!
ReplyDeleteHa! I was just there a few mins ago and left you a comment! :)

So there's zero point in examining 'redemption' as a theme, something they very clearly want to do, if everyone that has been killed can just come alive again.
ReplyDeleteYes but redemption in theological context tends to point to "a reword". I'm going by the instruction of this book, doctrine, laws of the universe, ect, because by doing certain things I will be rewarded, including my placement in the next life and who waits for me there.
ReplyDeleteIf in the Daniel back to life scene, they would have had him comfort her and given the knowledge to know they could be together again and not to worry, then I would think she is completely meant to move on, but instead they made him seem disturbed and upset, as he begged her to move on, giving her little reassurance of anything.
I agree with you completely! I think the kid that plays the character is far better at it than MRJ
ReplyDeleteNooooo!!!
ReplyDeleteI hate his character! Why couldn't we have Cora instead? (yeah, I know she's dead, but seriously?! Neil should have died and Cora should have lived)
Dammit!

ReplyDeleteIt's possible that her Believe character might not be long for the season. I haven't read anything much that says she is meant to be a series regular, just that she joined the Believe Pilot...
ReplyDeleteBut they could easily kill he off or find a creative way to "remove" her if need be, but I'm not 100% convinced yet if Mulan, *Philip, and Aurora are "current" either, even though I hope they are for Regina's story's sake...
