No surprise here i said that the series don't have a future. And with order coming long before the episodes coming out i didn't think that the series will have a long future.
CBS is throwing away another good show! I know the pilot received mixed reviews, but the concept of the show is good and original. With some recasting, I am sure the show would be picked up and land on CBS' schedule.
Then it must have been really bad! This is the first time CBS doesn't pick up a spin-off from an existing franchise. I'm happy though - Kim Raver should do something more interesting.
This must be a case of CBS having plenty of shows in stock - and that makes perfect sense considering they have taken on board the least pilots, and renewed the most shows I'd say there's good odds of another NCIS spinoff being in the pipeline next season
I have to disagree,Red was not an original show, not with two other NCIS already on.It was the same premise would have the same stories. The only thing different is the packaging and actors and that didn't make it original at all. I did not down vote you. :)
Agreed. While the pilot wasn't too bad, I was not very thrilled about the concept of a 3rd NCIS show, which possibly ends up replacing my favorite (the lead NCIS show). That being said, I could easily see the "Red" team make an appearance occasionally on NCIS:LA without it necessarily being another series.
Callen and Paris seemed to have atleast some onscreen chemistry together.
"Look at what's happened to CSI Miami & NY" You mean two spinoffs that ran successfully for 10 seasons (MIA) and 9 seasons (NY) respectively? That's an argument for spinoffs, not an argument against them.
Does anyone know if this means that the other pilot that was reported as still having a weak but present pulse is out too or are they still working on that one. I forget the name but the pilot starred rainn wilson and they were reportedly searching for a replacement?
Yes, thank you. It was reported a couple days ago as being salvageable if they could recast the male lead so I was curious but I think you're right, it's unlikely it would be saved at this point. Thanks Bruce I figured you would have the answer I was after. Curious as to whether or not you think this year's offerings are better or worse than last 0year's as a whole.
I'm not that upset by this but I would've liked to have watched this show cause I liked the two episodes this was based on. Oh well I can never win with these TV shows.
I watched about halfway through Red part 1 on LA and was instantly turned off. I didn't even watch part two or the rest of part 1. The dialouge was horrid (A message from hetty arrives on screen and one of the characters yells "incoming" while another spouts "24 7 we never close" in a fine example of literally filling 5 seconds of dead air with hackneyed, stupid and unnecessary words that are spouted for no other reason than to spout words.) plus, and this was a rather obvious point to me, NCIS is, on some level a top secret secure agency... what better says top secret than driving around in a convoy of 18 wheelers PAINTED RED? and what better way to secure top secret material than with the Club on your steering wheel? This isnt scooby doo. this isnt the mystery machine, and the cast of RED look, sound and have the chemistry of plain godawful.
Thank god that was as "ReD" bizarre mix of rejected knight rider script mixed with a reject original Thunderbird's script and even more incoherent than a usual bad NCIS LA episode. May it rest and peace and not be on the DVD's. It was sad because there were some great actors in the ReD espisodes.
to me it felt like a rejected Knight Rider script with way too many people in Kits van it was a shame really a lot of good actors wasted their time on a bad pilot.

ReplyDeleteSometimes there is such a thing as a spin off too far

ReplyDeleteOh pants. John Corbett better find a new project fast then, i was looking forward to seeing him in a show again!
ReplyDeleteAwesome.
ReplyDeleteI didn't really like the pilot, but it would have been cool to see a Tuesday night with 3 straight hours of NCIS.
ReplyDeleteyeah I wasn't really into it.
ReplyDeleteAgreed! XD

I kinda think this is a good thing....
ReplyDeleteNot a surprise I hated the cast.
ReplyDeleteNot sad at all
ReplyDeleteAwesome even though I knew it was dead
ReplyDeleteThank God!!!
ReplyDeleteWhat about Super Clyde?
ReplyDeleteNo news, I assume it's probably dead.
ReplyDeletePoop. :(
ReplyDeleteKim Raver killed the pilot. She made it an absolute thumbs down for me.
ReplyDeleteBetter dead than Red. :)
ReplyDeleteThey have already got two amazing shows, they should make something completely new!! Look at what's happened to CSI Miami & NY
ReplyDeleteI was looking forward to ncis red

anyone know of the fate of the second reportedly not totally dead pilot cbs was pondering? the rainn wilson (likely to be replaced) one
ReplyDeleteI see your point, the original CSI has outlived both spinoffs. I still wouldn't like to see another version of the same show
ReplyDeleteI have no interest in seeing another spinoff either.
ReplyDeleteOh, you mean Backstrom. I'm fairly certain that Backstrom is also dead.
ReplyDeleteThat is sad, indeed. how could they not pick up a show with frickin' Rupert Grint.
ReplyDeleteYes, thank you. ReplyDeleteBetter at CBS or better across all broadcast networks?

ReplyDeleteWhile I wasn't completely satisfied with the pilot I was still intrigued enough to want to see how things would go, its a shame it wasn't picked up.
ReplyDeleteWhat about Super Clyde?
ReplyDeleteme neither, it just lacked a certain something from the other 2 NCIS shows
