NBC have cancelled GO ON

  1. I am surprised actually, I thought after Parks and Rec this and Community would be renewed now worried about that show. I actually liked Go On, it had an uneven season but the finale was great.

  13. NBC have bigger balls than I thought. Right decision given the ratings. Sorry to all the fans who liked the show.

Idk, they're on a cancellation roll though.

  15. I don't know.. Aniston is in movies, LeBlanc has his own show (and was nominated for an Emmy), Cox has her own show, Kudrow has her own show, and Schwimmer is directing movies. I'd say they're all doing pretty well.

  16. well this sucks... I really thought that this show had a chance as it was written and executed well, and far better in quality imo than Whitney which got 2 seasons... but I guess tptb in the ivory towers @ nbc have some vision and this great little show didn't fit into it... sad

    Nooooooooo!!!

  18. I thought of the 3 remaining comedies that was the safest bet.

  19. Sad, but it was spected... It can't stand for itself(It's too lead-in dependant) and next Season would be dropping to 0.8's with way few episodes to syndication...

The good thing is that the Season Finale was a Great Series Finale. At least I have closure on Ryan's journey... But would love to see more of Steven/Lauren and Ryan/Carrie, both great pairings.

  20. Jen, Courteney and David have all been successful.

  21. if the ratings had been better they would have renewed it, nothing to do with not fitting into their vision, I'm sure they would prefer their shows do well so they can renew them rather than have them fail and have to cancel them.

  22. not really

I will say that Matthew Perry should not be a lead in another new comedy but maybe join an already successful show

  23. SHOCKED and UPSET by this! As long as it means we're getting Community, that I could live with!

    ReplyDelete
  24. That really sucks!!!! I really liked the show and was hoping for more. But it did end with a sort of series finale vibe, so at least that's something.

    ReplyDelete
  25. I hope that this huge number of cancellations means NBC's pilots are all fantastic. Even if the new lineup doesn't fix their ratings troubles maybe if all the shows are good they will at least be more successful than this season.

    ReplyDelete
  26. Ok, this is surprising. After Whitney got canned I thought that both Go On and Community would be renewed. This means NBC will only renew 2 comedies, Parks and Community.

I guees The New Normal will be renewed after that..

    ReplyDelete
  28. I think this means NBC has real fate on its comedy pilots, because so far the network has only renewed one comedy and is in talks for Community. The New Normal won't be renewed so... I wonder just how much fate do they have on their pilots to take this decision

    ReplyDelete
  29. Seriously doubt it, Go On was higher rated than The New Normal. The only way the show gets renewed is if they want to keep Ryan Murphy happy, which I think is unlikely. The show took a dive so hard that it rated 0.7 one time, it only got a boost after The Voice scoring a 1.7 and then a 1.3, while Go On had a 1.9. To cancell Go On and renew The New Normal would be insane. Although after The CW renewed The Carrie Dairies, I think anything can happen, but I still doubt they will do such thing

  30. I liked the show, but I gotta admit the ratings were really poor. Still, a brave decision from NBC, as they'll be only renewing 2 comedies this year (Parks and Community)

    ReplyDelete
  31. NBC royally screwed this show. All the preemptions, the schedule breaks, and the time-shifting sealed its fate by the time the show returned to the schedule in January.

    ReplyDelete
  32. NOooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo, whyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy. Fuck you, NBC. So upset I want to cry right now.

    ReplyDelete
  33. OMG! this was a great show!! loved all the characters!!! NBC why!!!

  34. Mas que porra NBC!!

  35. One word: NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!

  36. LES ENCULÉS, PUTAIN DE BORDEL DE MERDE (pardon my French).

After Enlightened, this is the second truly aching cancellation of 2013 for me, it better be the last this season (isn't that right, TNT and SouthLAnd ?).

Community has a special place in my heart (that sounds corny but it's true) but I really love Go On too, and I wish it kept going, there was room for both on NBC, they could use some funny comedies given that 30 Rock/The Office will be gone and given how their new series look like. If New Normal is renewed (despite Go On being a better, funnier, better rated and better reviewed show), it'll be a travesty.

Go On was THE best new comedy on network TV, people don't give it enough credit, I'll truly miss it. It's streets ahead of Mr Sunshine. The whole ensemble was brilliant. It reminds me of another one-shot, Outsourced, also done after 22 episodes, two years ago on NBC. Yeah, I know loads of people judged that show quickly, said it was racist against Indians and whatnot (if you can't joke about a specific country/people, play with stereotypes, then singling them out like that is what's racist). But after a rough start, it became truly funny, and no one watched it, and worse, it didn't get any traction online, much like Go On, sadly.

I hate it when good shows end.

  37. I'm on board, buy it, TBS!!!!!!!!!!!!!

    ReplyDelete
  38. Yep, NBC has been pulling this kind of crap for years now and then has no idea why the affected shows suffer. I'm really mad because I really liked GoOn.

    ReplyDelete
  39. I liked it too. I didn't know it 'til yesterday but the actress who plays Fausta has already signed on to another show. She'll be on Seth MacFarlane's "Dads" sitcom on FOX.

    ReplyDelete
  40. Yeah, as long as they cancel the New Normal. I really liked Go On but I understand NBC's decision and I can't really be too upset about it. If they renew the New Normal instead though, I will be mightily pissed.

  41. Nooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I don't accept this!

  42. Damn NBC yall are cleaning house wow

    ReplyDelete
  43. Very sad about this, though part of me is happy how the story got left off, There was potential for more but would probably have had a limited life anyways. Someone give Matthew a job on an established show as a regular, he needs to be on my TV.
