UPDATE: The missing words have been filled in :)
“Do you think the children’s death will affect your relationship with Miss Clara?”
“Total takings for the day, one sandwich. Better than no sandwich of course, not as good as two sandwiches. Or even a chicken…”
“Nice ship. Bit big, not blue enough”
“Allons-y! Oh, you should see the state of these neurons, he’s had some cowboys in here, ten complete rejects”
“Instead of mourning a billion trillion people I just feel sorry for the poor blighter who had to press the button and blow it all up”
“There’s information on Time Lords in here! Oh, this is just dreamy!”
The 699th Wonder of the Universe bears a remarkable resemblance to Wolfgang von Kempelen’s most famous invention.
“Insects, funny insects. I should add them to my funny insects collection”
“I was sent here because I didn't follow orders, I can make up for that”
Gaiman’s Cybermen have an old weakness built into their operating system which I don’t think has been mentioned in the new series before now.
Trailer Teaser
“I have a duty”

I enjoyed this much more the second time round, I think I scored it at 7 after the first time but I'd up that to a 8/9 now I think. I still think that Matt was held back in a certain aspect of his performance, and the kids grated on me a little, but who couldn't be happy to have Herrick in an episode of Who :D
ReplyDeleteok got a good guess "“Nice ship. Bit big, not much colour"??????
ReplyDeleteNot quite that I'm afraid but the missing words are about colour :)
ReplyDeleteI've heard people say it was quite childish, what did you think? Was it a standout episode for the series ?
ReplyDeleteAllons-y? My brain stopped functioning.
ReplyDeleteI wouldn't say childish, though with child guest actors and a trip to an adventure theme park does mean that there are child perspectives going on at times through the episode.
ReplyDeleteHaha yeah, I love'd that line with the cowboys and 10's catch phrase :)
ReplyDeleteIs the weakness gold dust?
ReplyDelete"Allons-y!" I think I wanna cry.
ReplyDeleteThe 5th teaser sounds like something that could also be said about The Time War. God, I'm obsessed with that thing!!! I have to stop seeing time-war-references in everything...
ReplyDeleteNice teasers, yet again! Wonderful stuff to whet my appetite. :D
ReplyDeleteDid the trailer reveal anything...? For instance, any time / era that the finale is set...? ;)
Yes, well gold in general :)
ReplyDelete10's not the only Doctor referenced either, there's a Doctor for everyone shown... ;)
ReplyDeleteIt's not about the Time War this time round, although I do think that it's inclusion is to remind viewers of how the Doctor would be sharing the same feelings imo.
ReplyDeleteI think we see the fields of Trenzalore, although my interpretation could ofc be wrong, but only very briefly and from above. Hmmm, I don't remember picking up on them being in any particular era really I'm afraid, sorry.
ReplyDeleteOh no! Don't be sorry, it's just that so little is known of 'TNOTD' it's fascinating to see how much the production team are giving away. :D
ReplyDeleteNice Ship. Bit blue, not much colour?
ReplyDeleteThat's the same, lol.
ReplyDeletenot very bright!!!!!!
ReplyDeleteOi, I zoned out, don't be mean! :P
ReplyDeleteI shouldn't be allowed near the internet when I'm not paying attention *facepalm*
ReplyDeleteWhile I'm doubting the children actually die (that would be a bit too dark) it would be interesting to explore how that would change the Doctor and Clara's relationship...though I'm not sure their relationship could take that much more tension...
ReplyDeleteWell considering a spoiler I've just seen elsewhere about something the Doctor says to her, this could be a rather interesting episode for their relationship! :o
ReplyDeleteI have to say, I think I've been pinning too much hope on some intense Clara character development in this episode :( Oh well--watching Smith be jaw-dropping will just have to do!
ReplyDeleteThere's no real development, thou she is given a job by the Doctor which shows off her leadership/problem solving skills. As for Matt, as I said up thread, I think he was held back in his performance in this one. I'm sure he could have made the duel role he is playing much better than it comes off at times :(
ReplyDeleteHaha, I haven't seen this spoiler but I can guess what it could be from your post! There's definitely stuff for the shippers of the characters to respond to, both positive and negative :o lol
ReplyDeleteno that was a guess sorry!
ReplyDeleteBasically it was saying he almost admits feelings and they almost kiss. I'm suspect there's going to be a 'we have feelings but this is all complex and angsty!' going on - particularly since the finale prequel is supposed to be about them question their relationship and how much they know about each other.
ReplyDeleteAhh, cheers. I can see why a Jekyll and Hyde vibe might be expected, Smith plays two different roles in the episode, as seen in the promo photos, but I wouldn't really describe them as two sides of the the same person in way I understand J&H to be. I can't really explain any better than that thou, without giving too much away :( It's an interesting and very challenging episode for Smith, but I do feel he wasn't allowed to take full control of it and make it as memorable as he would have liked.
ReplyDeleteI got what you meant :)
ReplyDeleteFor me, the internet shouldn't be approached without 3 cups of coffee inside! lol
ReplyDeleteCorrect, the Cyberman is the Turk, but who is the other who operates the machinery? :)
ReplyDelete@Sandi, you have spoken to me before, and like last week I'm going to ask you, what would you give The Name Of The Doctor out of ten? (Like I did with NIS before watching TCH).
ReplyDeletethe 699th wonder is a chess machine??? with a cyberman
ReplyDeletei didn't mean to insult you mate...sorry :(
