Arrested Development - Recurring Joke Tracker

29 May 2013

Have you ever been watching Arrested Development and wondered how many times GOB has said "I've made a huge mistake" or one of the Bluths have asked, "Her?"

Well now NPR has collected data for just such an obsession! They have an interactive joke tracker that allows you to track the recurrence of gags by episode, character, or season. Here's what they have to say and as always..
Enjoy.

Arrested Development is back! Because we're obsessed we care about your watching enjoyment, we wrote down all the recurring gags in every episode — including the new season 4 episodes — with special attention to jokes hidden in the background (like Cloudmir vodka) or being foreshadowed (like when Buster lost his hand).

Screencap of the interactive joke tracker:

  2. My favourite jokes from the latest series has been Gob and his forget-me-nows circle of shame, 'Hello darkness my old friend' and Michael trying to explain the 4 way vote

  3. I'm sure I saw the banana grabber and variations of the banana grabber for different businesses in season 4.

Gob and the forget-me-nows was my favourite "Hey, Remember me?"

  6. One running gag they did not mention was all of The Social Network references in Season 4 running from, "Phoenix" Club ,Face Block, the twins, anti-social network, the big deal about it going public, the legal dispute etc...

  7. I didn't even think of that... haha excellent!

  8. I'm sure there's also a "clears throat" gag. Ron Howard as commentator does it at the start, George Snr. does it, and Lindsay does it.

Also the "Lindsay.....No, Tobias" or other characters' names as people wondered who was to blame for a particular mess.

  10. I have not seen TSN in years so I may have missed some. The twins and Face Block were the two points that made me take notice though...

Maybe Maeby had some similarities to Napster Timberlake's role? I just don't recall the movie enough to know.... Maybe a re-watch is in order.

  11. I think you're right there with Maeby and Napster. Also George-Michael being confused as twins, may be a loose reference to one actor playing twins in TSN?
