Oh, that's too bad, I actually kind of liked the show. Not as good as Family Guy or American Dad, but still pretty good, even downright funny in a few
Even if you didn't pay attention to the ratings, it's not surprising. They've been making references to the show's low ratings for a while now, that's something you'd expect from a Seth MacFarlane show.
Just last week, when Dr Fist, a recurring character who's been on the show a few times (and voiced by Mr. Bryan Cranston !), said he had bad news, here's what was said :
Cleveland : Am I dying? Are we cancelled?! Donna : Please tell me we're not cancelled!
Well, I guess they are. But with Family Guy not going anywhere (and American Dad also sticking around, thankfully), there's definitely a way to make Cleveland move back to Quahog, and his new family with him in the process, for recurring roles (can't expect them all to be in every single episode). It'll be interesting to see how they handle it, but I'm absolutely convinced we'll have not seen the last of Cleveland Brown after this season.
I loved the idea brought up a few episodes ago that Cleveland Junior (who was slim on Family Guy, remember? Nothing like his appearance in The Cleveland Show from the get-go then) was replaced by a sleeper agent working for a secret organization. He was chubby in The Cleveland Show for writing reasons, but coming up with this "explanation" now was so cool.
I hope they follow through with that in the last episode, even though episode 4.22 has probably been written before season 4 -and its ratings lower than season 3- even began to air. Or they could talk about that back on Family Guy, with Cleveland Jr. slim again and a reference to that plot, for instance.
NOTE: Name-calling, personal attacks, spamming, excessive self-promotion, condescending pomposity, general assiness, racism, sexism, any-other-ism, homophobia, acrophobia, and destructive (versus constructive) criticism will get you BANNED from the party.
I wonder if that means Cleveland and move back to Quahog.
ReplyDeleteThe smartest move FOX has made in months. Doesn't quite make up for its cancellation of Fringe, but it's a start.
ReplyDeletedoubt it. it probaly meents we've seen the last of cleveland :(
ReplyDeleteProbably, if they had a Family Guy episode of him moving to Stoolbend, then they can easily make a episode of him moving back.
ReplyDeleteI've asked Seth MacFarlane twice on Twitter if he could move back to Quahog if the show is canceled but he never replied.
ReplyDeleteI guess he probably doesn't want to talk about cancelation. If it happens we'll know soon enough.
ReplyDeleteI'm glad. This was by far the worst of Seth McFarlane's work.
ReplyDeletefrees up one sitcom slot for Fox! :)
ReplyDeleteI wont miss it, I liked some of parts of it but overall it fell flat. I'm glad Bobs burgers is sticking around though

FOX now only has two more shows to decide the fates of, Touch and Glee...
ReplyDeleteSad but AD and FG are funnier shows. I hope the cast of TCS come back to Family Guy.. it would be silly not to
ReplyDeletehttp://insidetv.ew.com/2013/04/17/is-cleveland-show-cancelled/ EW says that Fox has NOT cancelled the show yet.
ReplyDeleteOhh,this is so sad :(
