This table shows the early overnight ratings. These ratings are normally adjusted later in the day when all the ratings have been consolidated to take into account any local preemptions and/or overruns. SUNDAY 4/28/13 Metered Markets
Clean Overnight Sweep for CBS

Household
Rating/Share
CBS 7.0/12
ABC 3.8/ 6
NBC 3.0/ 5
Fox 2.4/ 4

-Percent Change from Year-Ago Evening – Sunday 4/30/12:
CBS: + 9, Fox: – 8, ABC: -25, NBC: -32

———-

-Winners:
“60 Minutes” (CBS)

-Honorable Mention:
“The Amazing Race” (CBS), “The Good Wife” (CBS), “The Mentalist” (CBS)

-Losers (Excluding Repeats):
“The Cleveland Show” (Fox), “Red Widow” (ABC)

———-

-Ratings Breakdown:
It was another clean overnight Sunday sweep for CBS care of its combination of granddaddy “60 Minutes” (#1 for the night: 8.7 rating/15 share), “The Amazing Race” (6.2/10), the season-finale of “The Good Wife” (7.0/11) and “The Mentalist” (6.1/10). But before anyone at the Eye net uncorks a bottle of bubbly in celebration, the older skew on the night is an ongoing concern and the network will need to make some bold changes on Sunday next fall if it wants to stay in the game opposite “Sunday Night Football.”

In the distant No. 2 spot was ABC, which year-to-year dipped by 25 percent. And that too means that ABC will have to do some rebuilding on Sunday next season. Veteran “America’s Funniest Home Videos” opened with a consistent second-place 3.9/ 7 in the overnights at 7 p.m., followed by “Once Upon a Time” (#2: 4.5/ 7), “Revenge” (#2: 4.4/ 7) and failing “Red Widow,” which dipped to a mere 2.3/ 4 (#3) at 10 p.m. Year-to-year, “Once Upon a Time” slipped by 26 percent, while “Revenge” dropped by 28 percent from former time period occupant “Desperate Housewives.”

NBC, meanwhile, populated the evening with two repeats hours of “The Voice” (avg. 2.5/ 4 from 7-9 p.m.) and two-hours of “Celebrity Apprentice” (3.6/ 6 from 9-11 p.m.), which slipped by 27 percent from the 4.9/ 8 on the year-ago evening. And Fox aired a repeat of “The Simpsons” (#4: 1.3/ 2 at 7 p.m.) into its regular rotation of “The Cleveland Show” (#4: 1.7/ 3 at 7:30 p.m.), which is not returning next season, “The Simpsons” (#3: 2.8/ 5), “Bob’s Burgers” (#4: 2.3/ 4), “Family Guy” (#4: 3.4/ 5) and “American Dad” (#4: 2.7/ 4).

About the Daily Ratings

Each day (except Sunday) we post the TV Ratings for the previous night.

The first item that gets posted (normally around 2pm GMT) is the early overnight analysis based on the early household numbers (these are not the same as the Total Viewers and 18-49 Demo numbers that are posted later).

Later on (normally between 4pm-5pm GMT) we post the official early overnight Total Viewers and 18-49 Demo numbers in the table above.

Finally, later in the evening (10pm-11pm GMT) or the following day, the final adjusted ratings numbers are released, these are then posted in the Ratings Database. The Final Adjusted numbers are what we use for all our Renew/Cancellation Tables, Full Season Tables, Ratings Scorecards etc (see below)

  1. If this keeps up we won't have a fourth season of OUaT.Lets hope the writers get their s**t together, like soon!

  2. I'm disappointed Once is not going up :(
In this rate, I'm gonna hope for 2.5 for the season finale, which would be down a full ratings point from the previous season finale.
Hopefully, leading out to a new show next year and the spin-off (if picked up) would make people interested in Once again next year.

  3. CBS NEEDS TO MAKE SOME CHANGES FOR NEXT SEASON.

    ReplyDelete
  4. Actually, we will. 3rd season shows if your have over 40 episodes give you a guaranteed 4th season for syndication.

    ReplyDelete
  5. I'm glad Revenge got up, a only a tenth behind OUAT and way up from the 3.6 it got 3 weeks ago. I hope this translates into good demographics

  6. Where does it say a show is guaranteed a fourth season if you have over 40 episodes? Sorry,i don't believe any network would keep a show on if it does that poorly, unless of course your talking about the CW.

Yeah, the CW are desperate, the big networks can afford to cut a few shows here and there if they're not doing well.

I think it also bounced back from a low when it went up against an awards show.

    ReplyDelete
  9. Once is produced by ABC studios so ABC too would want to see it reach syndication.

I'm not surprised about the OUAT trend. Overall I think I only truly liked two or three episodes since they came back in 2013. They're wasting too much time on new characters or characters like that giant who got a full episode while other beloved characters are ignored.

Last night's episode was good. The best in a long while. But after the horrible Pinocchio ep and the filler ep about fake Belle it's only normal that more people lost interest again.

    ReplyDelete
  11. I dont see CBS moving TM or TGW from Sunday.

    ReplyDelete
  12. funny how ''horrible'' Pinocchio ep and ''filler'' ep about fake belle both got more viewers than evil queen ep. you know what else trend is? regina-centric episodes are LEAST viewed. stable boy has the lowest numbers of the first season and now evil queen is new low for ouat.

    ReplyDelete
  13. You should do a little research on that. BECAUSE the pinocchio and lacey episodes were so bland, ppl stop watching = result the next episode following has lower viewers.

Last night's episode was terrific, one of the best of this season, and finally moving the story a little forward, which was about damn time. Next week's and the finale I'd expect a little uptick on the ratings, tho it won't get back to where it was obviously.

    ReplyDelete
  14. I can agree on pinnochio episode but not on lacey. and I don't need any research for that. I loved the evil queen one. I think it's was the ouat I loved in the first season. but you can't tell that regina-centric episodes have good raitings no matter what. minus me, whatever. you can't change numbers even if you don't like the result. final episodes are ALWAYS have uplift and if they will it would have nothing to do with the previous episode.

I don't even know how to respond to that. Do you look at ratings for more than validation of your apparent frustration with one character? Because if you did, than you would notice that this argument doesn't make any sense.
I'm sorry if you feel personally offended by what I said about episodes 2.18 and 2.19, but from what I have seen 2.18 was one of the most poorly received OUAT episodes ever (which has everything to do with the writing and not so much with the focus on Pinocchio in general) and 2.19 may have been nice for the Rumbelle fans, but general fans mostly complained about the show going around in circles and about how ABC promoted Robin Hood like there's no tomorrow and then he was barely in the episode.

    ReplyDelete
  16. aaand? it doesn't make it filler just because you don't like rumbelle you know. and in that case teq is a filler too. a candy for evil regals and for hookers. the show is still going round in circles and very little happened in the last episode too. now you can see everyone frustrating with greg/tamara arcs. will you gather all the negative about teq episode or only those that you didn't like?
and I would like you to read my comment before making personal remarks.

    ReplyDelete
  17. You realize that the episodes have been on a continual downslide though. So tying for 'previous worst' doesn't really make a good argument.

    ReplyDelete
  18. not really. overall downside yes but some episodes are higher than previous ones. so no. blaming previous episodes for fail of the current one does not work. but I see some people are in denial.

    ReplyDelete
  19. Sigh. Yes, that is what I am saying. But when 'Lacey,' 'Selfless, Brave and True' and 'Welcome to Storybrooke' were all tied for series lows before this one to say that they're not connected is simply ludicrous. This is just another in a series of downslides, each connecting to each other. So yes, previous episodes are to blame when it fits a pattern of increasing viewer frustration, unmoving or unpopular storylines and fewer viewers.

    ReplyDelete
  20. sorry but I wasn't interested in queen episode not because lacey was lame or pinoccio-centric was a filler. in evil queen episode simply because I'm not interested in evil queen story. and not for the first time if regina-centric episode was the low of the first season. why it's so hard to accept?

    ReplyDelete
  21. Huh? Why does it matter why you don't care about an episode?

Unpopular storylines have absolutely nothing to do with Lacey nor Selfless, Brave and True but rather the entire season. Were you arguing last week about Lacey being a series low for the same thing?

    ReplyDelete
  22. seriously? you think I'm the only one who doesn't care about your queen? and who have no wis for the umpteenth time look at a psycho who wants kill snowhite and everyone to love her. well it became a bit boring. we've been here before. many times.

I'm arguing with a ''filler'' comment. it wasn't for many people and if it was a filler for evil regals then the evil queen episode was a filler for non evil regals too. thus series low. and no one I wasn't arguing last week about lacey since I saw no one that desperate and immature to blame sbat and wts for the new series low of lacey.

so stable boy was a 1st season low because.. because mad hatter was a bad one? oh, I see. constant denial seems a thing for er. lol keep going and I have more interesting things to do.

    ReplyDelete
  23. Huh? Do you understand what you're saying? This has absolutely nothing to do with Regina. At all.

And everything to do with an increasing disappointment with the show AS A WHOLE where the viewership has been freefalling for the past eight episodes. How do you use your hatred of Regina to explain that?

    ReplyDelete
  24. really? manhattan had lower ratings than tiny? yeah, keep denying.

and the miller's daughter had lower ratings than the queen is dead? reeeealy? keep denying.

And everything to do with an increasing disappointment with the show AS A WHOLE///

if only you said it in reply to the ''filler'' comment. but you seems ok with hatred for rumbelle but not for regina, huh? well.. predictable.

    ReplyDelete
  25. Huh? What does throwing random episode titles have to do with anything?

    ReplyDelete
  26. really don't want to comprehend don't ya. it's not random episodes you were bulls*itting here saying that the viewership has been freefalling for the past eight episodes. well it wasn't. manhattan was higher than previous one, tiny. and tmd was higher than tqid.

do I have to spell it for you one more time? I'm not arguing it was down during increasing dissapointment AS A WHOLE. I'm arguing with a FILLER remark. the she show has gone down as a WHOLE. the scheduling didn't help. people are tired of wating and all. but call lacey a filler just because you don't like rumbelle was was disrespectful and unnecessary. this ''filler'' was long awaited and was watched by more viewers than the last episode EVEN after the horrible sbat ep and 3 weeks hiatus. and I just pointed out that not for the first time regina-centric episode fail to attract bigger audience. butthurt but true.

and no, tsb had the lowest 2.8 while the previous, hat trick had 2.9, and the next the return had 3.0.

    ReplyDelete
  27. Oh, I understand. You're a butthurt Rumbelle fan. Ooooooh, it all makes sense then.

Prior to this episode, Lacey was the least watched episode ever of the show.

    ReplyDelete
  28. well it was PRIOR as you say. now evil queen is the lowest in the ouat history not only in share but in number of viewers. congrats, evil peasant.

and you still don't make any sense at all. not I expect that from you of course.

    ReplyDelete
  29. Any sense? About WHAT?
