I went with the pie scene--not a key scene in th eepisode, to be true, but part of a nice running gag (across several seasons), and nicely played by Jensen Ackles. Also liked when Bobby took a flyer about which Sam to stab, and laughed out loud then Naomi got all pissy about being called a bureaucrat!
I love it all but Dean saying good bye to Benny was some of the most incredible acting Jensen has has with an actor other than Jared since Alistair in On the Head of a Pin
Dean and Benny's goodbye for the emotional bit or the clarification that the bone-burning just forces the soul into one afterlife or another (rather than causing them to cease to exist altogether) for the long-overdue mythology bit! (I had always hoped that was their rationale behind everything, but there have been more than a few reasons, especially throughout these most recent 3 seasons (including the demon bone-burning), to doubt.)
Naomi visiting Dean. Strong acting from Amanda Tapping and Jensen Ackles, and a way of reinforcing how confused and worried Dean is about Cas. Naomi is everything I want to see in a Supernatural villain. Not just snarky one-liners. She's chilling and calculating and I have no idea what she will do next.
After that I'd probably say Bobby/Sam and that goodbye with Dean and Benny.
How about the scene where Sam and Bobby hug? Now that was totally rare. It's seems like Sam can't have any kind of relationship on the show except for Dean. He can't be close to anyone else or it's some kind of betrayal to Dean. Where Dean can have as many special guy friends as he wants? If Sam found a guy friend, it would be a total betrayal to Dean. The scene with Benny and Dean was long and boring as hell. I couldn't wait for it to end. I love how some fans wonder why other fans think Dean is gay. He cares more about guys and cries over them, then he does for any woman he's had on the show. He's sniveled over losing Castiel and Benny and he's done it way more than with Sam. He's hugged guys more as well. Sure he's slept with a lot of women, but I've bet he's spent a lot of time in the dark close to guys doing who knows what. LOL
NOTE: Name-calling, personal attacks, spamming, excessive self-promotion, condescending pomposity, general assiness, racism, sexism, any-other-ism, homophobia, acrophobia, and destructive (versus constructive) criticism will get you BANNED from the party.
When Sam asked Bobby if he knew he was killing the right Sam and Bobby said it was a 50/50 shot....LOL!
ReplyDeleteOther: Crowley and the reaper in the taxi...
ReplyDeleteOther: Naiomi visits Dean.
ReplyDeleteAlso Dean and Benny's goodbye
THE HUG! THE HUG! Oh God, everything about that hug was perfect.
ReplyDeleteI picked Sam and Dean hugging since I watch for the brotherly bond!

ReplyDeleteHoly crap! The writers actually let Sam have meaningful interactions with the guest stars! That hasn't happened in years!

Yes! Definitely a great episode for Amanda Tapping - we finally get to see her do something! I've been waiting all season... love her!
ReplyDeleteOne of the many reasons I love this show is Jensen is soooooo good at these kinds of scenes.
ReplyDeleteThe hug between Sam and Dean was absolutely the best scene in Taxi Driver! I am loving the brother moments!
ReplyDeleteThe hug because of the brother moment.
ReplyDeleteNaomi and Dean talk is the best part.
ReplyDeleteYes, how is that scene not on the list?
