All that did was get me really annoyed with NBC over a show, Hannibal, that I have NO interest in at all. I want my REVOLUTION preview at the end of the episode dammit!
I really liked the episode! Kelley is awesome and I hope we get to see more of her. And I had to go to the bathroom really quick - What did Miles did to Alec that involved Texas that pissed him off so much?
And going to war against the Monroe Republic sounds interesting and possibly disastrous.
Aww, Miles. I know he's done some really shitty things, but Charlie seems to have changed him for the better (And I'm starting to buy into the theory more and more that he actually is her dad).
Whoa, Jane was a little nuts. Was definitely shocked by those two soldiers' death. And her wife (Beth?) was pretty amazing. They were a cute couple.
I wonder what that thing did that let Danny and Beth survive for so long.
Can't wait for next week, although I'm bitter there was no promo.
I was expecting Kelly to demand the pendant from Miles, but maybe she doesn't know about them. Even if she doesn't, wouldn't she still expect that whatever was powering the nuke would be nearby? It's strange that she only asked about the radioactive material.
By the way, Kelly seems to be a really honorable president. I wouldn't be surprised if she wanted to bring back the United States, just like the rebels.
One thing that annoys me is that since Revolution has come back on the air, they seem to no longer place importance on the distance between places. Before our characters used to take days and weeks to get between two relatively nearby locations, because they have to travel on foot. Now it seems like they travel massive distances from one scene to the next. Like in the first episode since it came back on air, they went from Philadelpha to Allentown, PA, and from there to Annopolis, Maryland, in a blink of an eye. Before it took them episodes to go that sort of distance.
But in general, I liked this episode. It was exciting to see the Georgia Federation, with its steam power, tall ships in Savannah, aid from England, and confederate-looking flag. I wish they would spend more time there; I wanted to see more of how the people lived. But it looks like Miles, Charlie, and Nora are going back to
WhatI got out of the Texas thing was that Monroe and Alec either killed somebody important or tried to kill somebody important in the Texas government so to not start a war they gave Alec to Texas because they blamed him for either the killing or the attempted killing.
Are you fucking kidding me, NBC? Where's the promo for next week? Dammit, these networks. First the huge hiatus, then the episode order is cut by two episodes, then the pre-emption. This is your highest rated drama and hit this season, you idiots, stop trying to kill it with these STUPID moves.
It was a tale of two episodes for me. The first half was great. The second half turned into an emoangsty bore. At least we got part of a sword fight and to see the Georgia Republic. Hope that becomes a major plot point.
I doubt that Madame President is honorable. She has her own agenda and there's no way she got to be president without being ruthless. My guess is in season 2 we find out she's just as mad as Monroe.
Yes, George Federation looks good on the surface, but did you catch the Federation solder in the Atlanta market on a raised platform with a machine gun trained on the crowd? It's quick, but it shows up in the first scene where Miles, Rachel, and Charlie are walking into the market.
If Georgia is such a great place to live, then why is its military training machine guns on its own population? I rather suspect that if you scratch the surface of the Georgia Federation you'll find it's ugly underbelly, just like in the Monroe Republic.
As for Maggie, her story was that she walked up and down the East Coast, once she'd walked there from Seattle, in the years immediately following the Blackout. When she didn't find a ship to take her back to England, she kept wandering and found herself back in Wisconsin. I think the answer is she was just simply on the East Coast too soon, and the trade with England had not yet been re-established.
I was so angry over it I actually went to the NBC site, found the "contact us" area and sent a comment on Revolution in which I firmly, but politely, expressed by annoyance and disappointment at them making that "mistake" of showing the Hannibal preview and strongly suggested they NOT do so again.
Likely no one will read it, but venting at least made me feel better!
I'm really struggling with this show to be honest. The only thing keeping me coming back is the fact that I kind of want to know more about the nano-bots and stuff. Couldn't give a flying monkeys about any of the characters, if I'm honest.
Loved the episode! Miles is definitely the most fleshed-out character. The father/daughter relationship he has with Charlie seems to be crucial to his path to redemption and it was nice seeing what happened to the last person he had a "father" relationship with. Billy Burke nailed it!
"I'm also curious about the nanites keeping people alive. Why can't they just kill most of the nanites, and then make the opposite of a pendant to keep the nanites alive in teh vicinity of particular individuals?"
Yea, this episode really showed how selfish Rachel and Jane (the scientist Rachel/Aaron went to visit) really are. The entire world fell apart and now many, many people die on a daily basis because warring factions are fighting over resources and land. This entire time they had the know-how to turn everything back on and the only reason they haven't is so they can save two people they love. Yea, I get love is a very powerful thing, but these are two highly intelligent women who should understand that no two people are more important than the entire population. Actually, you could argue that there are two people who are important enough to sacrifice the lives of others and it's Rachel and Jane, since they're the ones who know about the Tower and its function. Not their partner and son (who died anyways, as she points out).
"I wonder what that thing did that let Danny and Beth survive for so long." I can't remember word for word what Jane said, but it was something along the lines that the nanites get into the bloodstream and "eat away" any cancer a person may have. You probably heard that part but I wasn't sure if there happened to be a second bathroom break! :D
I liked it a lot. Both storylines were interesting and the acting was great. I didn't care that much for the guy who Miles left behind but I liked what he brought in Miles. He really is a cool character. I think the show is getting much better, even though I have been enjoying a lot since the begging. I liked the Rachel arc too and the Kate Burton character was fantastic, I would like to see her again!
Agreed, he is a very complex character and I would still like to explore more how he changed so much from the person he was with the milita to the person he was when Charlie found him in the pilot.
Yeah I forgot to comment on that but I loved seeing the Georgia Republic and hearing about the Texas Republic. I hope they expand on this notion, it is great!
NOTE: Name-calling, personal attacks, spamming, excessive self-promotion, condescending pomposity, general assiness, racism, sexism, any-other-ism, homophobia, acrophobia, and destructive (versus constructive) criticism will get you BANNED from the party.
Where was the promo for next week?
ReplyDeleteThey put a promo for Hannibal instead for some reason! I guess they're trying to hype it.

ReplyDeleteI saw that! Odd decision but as long as there is actually going to be a new episode next week then I am fine with whatever they do.

ReplyDeleteThere was a Canadian promo. It looked good. Check youtube to see if someone uploaded it.
