  1. It was actually pretty good, against all I thought! Who else thinks that despite Regina being captured and tortured, this no-dark-magic thing might to her good? She will finally be able to open her eyes and change her ways!

  2. Kinda slow but I loved the background story of Regina and Snow.

But can we kill Tamara and Gred already? I'm very tired of those two.

  3. Wow, I really enjoyed it!
I get Regina AND Snow now a whole lot better. Nice scenes there right before Snow uncovered Regina. They were both stearing in the right direction. And we got to see some kick-ass Snow again :) Yay!

Henry/Emma/Neal: Mähhh, well, Snow warned her Henry would react that way, but otherwise nice Emma/Henry scenes.
Regina/Hook: never trust Hook! Wow, the end really blow me away!

  4. 'Will she be able to change her ways?' Not as long as the show gets renewed!

  5. So that was great and I loved it! Ugh at Regina's actions this whole episode. And Regina and Gregowen need to be found out immediately.

I wonder who got the beans.

  6. CALLING ALL EVIL REGALS, SUIT UP, OUR QUEEN NEEDS US!!!

Well, this episode was very good. The highlight for me was Regina tearing up as Snow told her the story of how she saved her once. May be the best scene this season because it shows what Snow was talking about how Regina is living in pain and doesn't know where or who to direct her anger and pain towards. So tragic and beautiful all at the same time. Now I can see why Hook betrayed her but OH NO Tamara needs to go, off with her head and Greg's too, I kind of hope his dad is dead but that may be just the Evil Regal in me. So I have a question, Tamara said in the promo for the next episode that magic is unholy. (P.S. and no way in this show or any show or even reality is science better than magic or the idea/belief of magic) So does that make Tamara a psycho Christian evangelist trying to restart the witch trials again? Whatever I can't wait for next week's episode.

  7. Rumple "You just slaughtered an entire village, maybe that's why they call you the Evil Queen." Best line of the evening!

Well, "Evil Queen" was somewhat enjoyable, but very slow and mildly disappointing episode...

The only REALLY awesome thing about the episode was Snow White/Evil Queen flashbacks and Snow’s change of heart from “Regina’s misguided” to “bitch must die” moment, which explains why she was forgiving in “heart is a lonely hunter”, yet had a plan in motion to eventually kill the queen in “Snow Falls”.

The other decent bit was present-day Snow scenes highlighting her character flaws - she’s clearly far too focused on getting her own redemption to the point that everyone else’s worries and problems seem second-hand to her, which I guess in a way parallels Regina’s own self-centeredness at trying to get redemption. I wonder what will it take for Snow to decide that this way is not worth it either.

Otherwise felt like the episodes at the beginning of this season…

And that’s NOT a good thing.

Otherwise - I am now 100% convinced that Dark Snow will be the S2 finale cliffhanger.
The show keeps hinting at it, foreshadowing it(FTL-Snow White’s flashback in this newest episode, for example) and drawing parallels between Regina and Snow, Rumple and Snow, Cora and Snow, but, just like with Rumple’s plan in S1, show takes it slow and throws other things at viewers instead.
Just like with Rumple in S1, the show clearly expects the viewer to take their minds off it, to focus on this big convergence of threats.
Which makes me feel that just like with Rumple in S1, Dark Snow plot will truly start at the very end of the season.

I am actually hoping that this would lead to Snow gaining magic somehow, so their roles could be reversed for next season ;]

  11. So was Rumples drunk at the beginning with Belle? He seemed kinda tipsy, and had that drunken stagger.

  12. i loved this episode Regina is evil/misunderstood damaged but i think she can change and yes tamara
evan need to die or be neutralized so cant harm others and abc please renew already thank you

  13. The Charmings, Emma and Henry were insufurable as usual. Thank goodness for Neal, Regina, Hook and Robert's stellar performance (regardless of whether Rumple works or not).

Tamara and Owen suck. I mean the idea of them is interesting but the execution.... Not good, though that's way too common with this show. I really can't wait till they're gone....

Anyone else intrigued as to how Hook knew Malificent, or was that just me?

  14. I agree very astute of him.

  15. Have you seen the movie Jumper with Christian Haydensen. Well in it there is group of people who have been hunting these magical jumpers for centuries because they believe they are evil and that their ability to jump is sinful. So I am guessing the writers are using something of that nature into this story. I just hope that it ends pretty quickly and that they move on to other plot lines in the next season.

  16. Excellent episode! I thought it was one of the better ones we've had in awhile. :D

  17. I understand that most people felt the episode was too slow, but I still think it was a good one. The pace doesn't bother me, as long as it builds up to something interesting and I think they've managed to do it here (save the Gregowen/Tamara part of the story, which up until now is very illogical, IMO). Snow/Regina was great, Regina/Rumple was also great, and they gave us a little bit more background on how Regina became "fully" evil. Besides, it's the first time in a long time I enjoy seeing Henry and Emma on screen. And Hook was also surprisingly interesting.

Anyway, what gets me every time is the amount of times Regina has had the chance of killing Snow, but ended up not going through with it. Here we had that once again. I don't think it exempts all her bad deeds, but it is very interesting and confirms how desperate for love her character really is. At the first sign of it, she completely changes her behavior and grabs whatever little piece of affection she can get. It's truly sad...

  18. I thought tonight episode was a little slow to start. I don't think Emma want to go back to fairly tale world. And I can't blame her all she know is the real world. Were would she fit into that world that she was never really part of. I allway wonder want fairly tale she would be? Maybe the sawn lake Princess. Regina Losing her power I thought was a stock for me. that was kinda the only interesting part of this episode for me. I can't believe this season allmost over. Next year they need to do a better job at not giving us so many breaks. If feels like we did not get much this season.

  19. Love this episode. But what about Regina magic? Nanomashines in her blood take her power for good? Or I misunderstood this part?

  20. Loved the episode. Although I wish there is someone kind enough to document the timeline of the backstories. Like in this episode, did it happen after Snow found Charming, before? And the first episode where Hook appeared, it seemed like he appeared when Bae was really young, so it means, when Bae went through the portal, it was when Regina was still not born? Or was she born but she was still very young? It was quite confusing, since Rumpel seemed to live in every generation.

  21. I thought this episode was a mess. Good acting from most parties but in terms of actually making SENSE...not so much.

  22. That's what happens when your "good guys" have zero characterization.

But yes, this episode happened before Snow found Charming. And yes, Regina was not born when Bae went through the portal. Hook, Bae and Rumple are all 300 years old.

  24. It was quite a fun, enjoyable episode, thanks solely to the great acting.
I admit I was expecting an extremely emotional episode, more along the lines of "The Doctor" or "The Queen of Hearts", but it wasn't nearly as depressing, lol. :D The only truly heartbreaking moments were the Regina/Henry sneak peek and the Regina/Snow scene in the forest.

However, it didn't add new developments to the story, it just reinforced the main three themes:
    1) that Regina always chooses love if she has even the tiniest sliver of hope;
    2) that Rumple put a lot of effort into crushing her hopes and feeding her insecurities, and he made sure that she'd be desperate enough to enact his curse when the time came;
    3) that in the end of the day, Snow is the person who understands Regina best, and if it weren't for Rumple/Gold's interference in their lives, they could have been an actual family.

And just a final note, I couldn't get enough of the Evil Queen scenes, Lana's comic timing is brilliant!
I'd like to see more flashbacks with Regina and her knights, those were hilarious! (What if some of them are in Storybrooke?)

  25. heh, this, pretty much. CHarming and his: we need to go back, it fixes everything naiveity is beyond boring to watch.

    ReplyDelete
  26. I wouldn't even call it naivete at this point. Snow is naive, fatally so (to other people, natch) but Charming is just being written as a moron. He's only been shown to have two characteristics: he loves Snow and he's stupid. And that is not even a 'let's rag on Charming' moment, but an actual thought based on how often they have him saying the absolute stupidest things.

  27. Yes! I would like to see an evilish Snow since she has that dark spot in her heart X)

  28. How is Hook 300 years old because when he was scheming with Regina to kill the Queen of Hearts, he doesn't look that old? Or is he also one of those Lost Boys from Neverland? Arrghh, my head hurts...

    ReplyDelete
  29. I've decided Maleficent is now a 'cat-bat mummy'.

    ReplyDelete
  30. Regina is just batshit insane (*Murders entire village* Why won't they love me?), but at least this epi she was wholly enjoyable.

I think we know that there is capacity for good inside Regina, dedicating another episode to that theme is kinda bloated, but necessary after her so erratic arc this season.

    ReplyDelete
  31. Yes. At the end of 2x04 Hook says they're going to Neverland.

    ReplyDelete
  32. I forgot to say thanks for the link!

    ReplyDelete
  33. It was alright, a little slow in parts. As usual the best parts had Rumples in them. Good to see Hook in all his hotness. What was Maleificent supposed to be though?

    ReplyDelete
  34. Now that is something i would love to see! Even if its only for a few episodes, boy, would that be a game changer.
