Nashville - Season Finale - Explosion to be Filmed

Thanks to Diana for the heads up.

The final episode of “Nashville” will go out with a boom.

Film crews will stage what they describe in a letter to residents as “a small explosion” at the intersection of Granny White Pike and Battlefield Drive on Tuesday, April 30.

It’s part of the final day of shooting for the final episode of the first season of ABC’s “Nashville” TV series.

The TV drama’s production team began alerting residents and drivers of traffic delays and noise in an April 18 letter.

The shoot will last from 5 p.m. to 5 a.m. and require that the Granny White/Battlefield intersection be completely shut down to accommodate shooting a stunt.

“(W)e will need to use a special effect that will create a small explosion,” the producers’ letter says. “It will be fairly loud.”

In addition to the noise, neighbors will contend with the production’s equipment as well.

Several lifts with large lights and several more with cameras will be stationed in the empty field at the intersection and further north on Granny White Pike at the Gale Lane intersection.

Producers are warning residents and passersby to not come out to try to catch a glimpse of the filming.

“Normally we are open to passersby watching us film,” the producers said. “In this case, it will not be safe to be anywhere near this filming and we respectfully request that you stay clear of the area.”

  1. I understand there is no malice involved but COME ON! After what happened in Boston, Would it be wise to stage an explosion especially if some people are not aware of it ( some people don't have Internet access or pay much attention to a tv show. I hope this doesn't cause any type of controversy or outrage.

  3. Ummm, if you read the article it clearly states that the show sent out letters starting almost two weeks in advance of filming to all people who live in the area around where this will occur to let them know what to expect and to ask that they stay out of the area for their own safety. I think they are being more than responsible in light of recent events.

Personally, I am more interested in know which characters are involved and whether they survive or not. But I have a feeling that more than likely, we won't know that until if and/or when we get a second season. Which we better get, as I will seriously upset if they leave us hanging with no resolution what so ever.

  4. They send letters to everyone in the locality to warn them. They did the same thing for Grey's Anatomy.
