ABC FAMILY GREENLIGHTS NEW ORIGINAL DRAMA "CHASING LIFE"

Newest Series Joins ABC Family's Slate of New Productions Picked up Earlier This Year Including Dramas "The Fosters," "Twisted" and "Ravenswood," and Reality Series "Dancing Fools" and "The Vineyard"

Burbank, CA - April 24, 2013 - ABC Family has added another new one-hour drama series, "Chasing Life" (formerly "Terminales"), to its roster of millennial-skewing original programming. The series is scheduled to start production in Santa Clarita in July and will premiere on ABC Family in early 2014.

"Chasing Life" is adapted from the successful Televisa Spanish-language Mexican television series and is a co-production of BV Family Productions, Lionsgate, and Televisa in association with ABC Family. "Chasing Life" stars Italia Ricci ("Unnatural History"), Mary Page Keller ("NYPD Blue"), Aisha Dee ("I Hate My Teenage Daughter"), Richard Brancatisano ("The Elephant Princess") and Haley Ramm ("Red State").

The series follows twenty-something April (Ricci), a smart and quick witted aspiring journalist who is trying to work her way up the ladder at a Boston newspaper by trying to impress her hard-nosed editor. When not pursuing the latest scoop, April tries to balance her ambitious career with her family - her widowed mom Sara (Keller), rebellious little sister Brenna (Ramm) and her grandmother. Just as things start to look up at work, home and on the romance front with co-worker Dominic (Brancatisano), April gets the devastating news from an estranged uncle that she has cancer. Aaron Kaplan ("GCB," "The Neighbors," "Terra Nova"), Susanna Fogel and Joni Lefkowitz will serve as executive producers.
