My favorite #Arrow scenes were with Thea and Roy, which is really surprising on two fronts. One I usually hate teen romance. Two, I actually like the Huntress.
"Oliver and Diggle rush to help Felicity after Helena nabs her and Oliver agrees to kill Helena" is my pick. I love how the three of them seem to bond and really care about each other these days, it's like a lot of tension between Oliver and Diggle was resolved with the addition of Felicity to the Arrow team.
Surprising that Slade let Oliver take over like that but I think it is going to be another turning point on the island for him. Should be interesting to see where this negotiation goes.
Agreed. Felicity is the linchpin for me. I like how she relates to both Diggle and Oliver, which in effect makes the team seem more like a partnership.
Also agreed. But I see Felicity as the most moral part of the team. Diggle supported Oliver to keep him tied to his humanity but he also agrees with Oliver far more often than objects when Oliver goes into the gray. Felicity however has had a moral effect on Oliver.
I think it is interesting how Diggle is being portrayed now that Felicity is in the fold. He used to be Oliver's conscience, generally against murder. In this episode Diggle was the one basically yelling at Oliver to kill Helena while Oliver was against it. I think you are right in thinking that Arrow is making Felicity the moral center of the group when that used to be Digg.
Well he wasn't so much urging Oliver to kill Helena as he was urging Oliver to stay with his moral compass. I am well aware that may sound like me contradicting myself but it's more of a fine line. I see Diggle as being more sympathetic to Oliver's mission partly because of Deadshot and partly because since he's not the shooter he can accept what Oliver does. Felicity on the other hand believes she has a duty to reign Oliver in when she can and minimize all deaths.
I don't like teen drama and romance either, but for some reason - maybe cause we all know now that Roy is going to be speedy eventually -, I liked the kiss and Roy's confused face after that:)
I like the actor who is playing Roy but mostly I love the Roy character because he makes Thea more enjoyable. She's so busy trying to prove to him that she's not just a spoiled rich brat that she stops acting like one. These two are a solid win for me for that reason alone.
I don't know. Everytime a female character (i.e. the Huntress) makes my fav male character (i.e. Oliver) a stupid annoying hormonal teenager with the tendency to make bad decisions, I instantly hate her.
Also, we're about to see Diggle going revenge-crazy for Deadshot. He won't be able to lecture Oliver when he's acting the same way as Oliver does. They'll need Felicity to talk some sense into both of them.
I think Oliver will care and will try to protect Diggle if Diggle decides to go after Deadshot alone. It will be interesting to see how that unfolds. I just hope it doesn't get Diggle killed as he's one of my favorite characters in this show and I want to see him returning next season.
Diggle can't die. He just can't. He is usually the voice of sanity. Well not about Deadshot of course but most of the time. I think Oliver and Diggle will work on taking down Deadshot together.
NOTE: Name-calling, personal attacks, spamming, excessive self-promotion, condescending pomposity, general assiness, racism, sexism, any-other-ism, homophobia, acrophobia, and destructive (versus constructive) criticism will get you BANNED from the party.

ReplyDeleteOliver's exchange idea being presented to Fyres. Brilliant. Well done Oliver.

ReplyDeleteI think that's beacuse Diggle knows there is someone else now that would be Oliver's conscience, and I think he is enjoying this situation.
ReplyDeleteMy favorite Arrow scene was when Oliver and McKenna had sex
ReplyDeleteOliver and Diggle rush to help Felicity! anything involving those three is a win!
ReplyDeleteThey do make an awesome team. I am really glad they had to let Felicity in on Oliver's secret.
ReplyDeleteyes me too! show's been better since then!

ReplyDeleteI know what's NOT my favorite. It's everytime Helena shows up on secreen.
ReplyDeleteI've heard a lot of people not liking her. What about her drives you the most nuts?
ReplyDeleteIt does allow him more freedom instead of always having to reign Oliver in.

ReplyDeleteVery true. Of course everyone on this show is a hypocrite so maybe that won't matter much.
ReplyDeleteI understand that, especially the part of how she kills people indiscriminately.
