FX today announced that It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia has been renewed for a 10th Season along with The League for a 6th. Both shows will move to FX's new channel FXX this fall.

Also renewed and moving to FXX is Legit

  1. Legit !

The renewal of the criminally underrated Legit is the breaking news here, Dark !

The League and It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia were already renewed for another season and not in danger at all — the Sunny gang even had signed conctracts for a 10th season a while back.

So I was never in doubt both these amazing comedies would be back in 2014. Legit's renewal, however, didn't seem like a lock to me, and I am thrilled FX decided to value quality against retention from Archer - they should pair Legit S2 with Louie S4. FX definitely keeps being the most awesome network, period.

And I'm glad about FXX. With Legit, Sunny, The League and the pickup of a pilot in development, that's a pretty solid base. They will also broadcast encores of cult classics like Freaks and Geeks, Sports Night, Arrested Development. They will also rerun HIMYM (https://twitter.com/TVTango/status/317279074504540161 ).

FX execs are also planning FXM, another channel focusing on A25-54 (whereas FXX will target A18-34) dedicated to limited miniseries (TV adaption of Fargo, remake of Mad Dogs, Sam Mendes' Grand Hotel, etc : https://twitter.com/TVTango/status/317278572471517184 ).

Great day for TV today !

  3. While I still believe that FXX is a bad idea, I'm not going to object to what I'm sure will be many repeats of past seasons of Always Sunny and The League.

  4. One of the greatest shows i've seen. Love The league and i despise how much i love Sunny in Philadelphia.

We need more shows like these... Hmmm although at the same time it would kill the uniqueness of the show
