The CW is bringing another member from the original cast of the Hunger Games-esque The Selection. Australian actress Peta Sergeant has been added to the retooled pilot, reprising her role as Gaia, a rebel leader who is working to overthrow the monarchy. She joins Sean Patrick Thomas who also is reprising his role from last year’s pilot. Set 300 years in the future, The Selection is described as an epic romance centering on a working class young woman chosen by lottery to participate in a competition with 25 other women for the Royal Prince’s hand to become the nation’s next queen. Warner Bros. TV is producing the pilot, written by Elizabeth Craft and Sarah Fain based on Kiera Cass’ book.

They need to stop using phrases like "epic romance" in their descriptions if they want people to think this is more like The Hunger Games and less like The Bachelor.
ReplyDeleteBut the book has almost NOTHING in common with The Hunger Games. Actually it's a LOT more like The Bachelor.
ReplyDeleteand well The Bachelor is getting high two's to three's in the demo also!
ReplyDeleteThat's why they retooled the script and are reshooting the pilot, because they want it to be more in line with the Hunger Games. I do not see this show doing well on the CW if it's Bachelor 2313.
ReplyDeleteThe CW was not interested in it when it was more like the Bachelor. I think that's a smart move because I doubt it would score well at all on the CW if it was. Reality TV is a whole different audience than sci fi TV.
ReplyDeleteThey have to stop bring back the original cast that all got fired because the pilot sucked and start hiring new actors so the show actually has a chance of being green lighted
ReplyDeleteif they are bringing them back it means they probably did great in the original pilot
