  1. I wish they'd concentrate on plot first and let any emotion evolved naturally from that like in ealier years, instead of forcing and planning out the angst.

  2. "Emotional nail-biter" being Carverspeak for "Sam and Dean aren't speaking by the end of the episode.

  3. Stymied by manufactured angst and a showrunner who can't pace a mytharc?

It's like they used "brother angst" as plot point. It sounds like they were in the writers' room going "okay we have enough actual story to fill 5 episodes, how can we distract the audience from the fact that we aren't going anywhere?" "We could bring up everything that ever bugged them and throw it in their faces?" "Oh, good idea, put that down "brother angst" "replacement Bobby" and "guest stars" for the plots of episodes 2-10, they'll be so busy tearing each other apart they won't care about the tablets at all." Like these distractions, fights, and OOC crap were legitimate reasons that the boys couldn't get anything done.

PS. They never clawed their way back, Carver just dropped it. I mean THANK GOD he gave up on it, but he really shouldn't pretend that anything was solved. I do not want to see it solved if it means bringing any of that back up.

  4. Is it me or is Sam becoming more and more Dean-like. I mean walking back for a hamburger, isn't that a Dean move? And than there's last weeks "son of a bitch". I kind of like it! Sammy is toughing it up a notch.

  5. Well this was originally 813 and got switched for the other eps so it will be intresting and this is the eps where they have the big emotional talk. when the talk comes either before the trials or after should be intresting. but i can't see them leaving the boys not talking. I still think dean will do the trials because basically half that crap they talked about he did in purgatory. I think dean would think if anything happen to him sam could surivive without him. And looks like they are staying at the men of letters place still. going to be fun eps to watch thats for sure love brotherly angst.

  6. So true usually. Egads! I wish they would just cut it out. I'm tired of manufactured brother angst. Actually I'm tired of brother angst period. Now that we know we are getting a season 9 could they start mass firing the producers and writers or hire some fans to do continuity checks and feedback.

  7. Need new writers for that. I wish they would stop creating a mytharc that generally means introduce it in the first 2 episodes, come back to it somewhere around the midseason finale for an episode, remind people there still is a mytharc somewhere in the teen episodes, and then cram a seasons' worth of mytharc into the last 3-4 episodes. Here's hoping this will actually be a huge jump in the mytharc followed by episodes that remember their is a quest.

  8. Emotional nail biter = brother's fighting = brother wars. Does Jeremy Carver know that every time he opens his mouth he makes things worse? Tell me again why they couldn't have 4 trials and have each brother do two of them. It's like they want the fandom in an uproar.

  9. Oh so very true. This season has been stymied by the writers and producers at every turn. I am with you on not resolving the brother rift if it means we have to go back to it. I only pray that tonight's fighting stops tonight and doesn't carry over. There will be enough fighting in the fandom to make up for screen angst. I really think they need to put all emotional gravitas on hold at this point. It's hasn't been a good thing (except Benny and even then only sporadically) any time this season.

  10. Because one it is a mythic thing so Sam has to do it and two he has been such a douche the first half of the season we are going to get this instead of self realization so we go awww Sammy. Also they seem only comfortable writing Dean if he is picking up after Sam.

  11. Claw their way back to each other's good graces. Get real JC! You created artificial brother angst and had Dean, and ESPECIALLY Sam acting out of character. I've lost hope that JC is ever going to address Sam not looking for Dean and that just taints the whole season.

  12. Exactly! Or they need to complete them as a team. I have no faith in JC. I'm sorry he ever took over mostly because I had such high hopes and have been so disappointed. I hope he finds another show for next year.

  13. Well what is wrong with going aww Sammy for once havent we spent 8 yrs going aww Dean in every way possible.

  14. "Does Jeremy Carver know that every time he opens his mouth he makes things worse"

So true. I'm like one of Pavlov's dogs at this point: just seeing him start to talk makes me crazy.

  15. Because after all the conflict crap we've had to sit through I would like it properly resolved for once instead of the easy out the writers always seem to take that they can't do that because Sam has trials to do or hell to jump into or he's dealing with being a special child.

I think that's why Dean will want to take the trials, but going for Jared's interview, it'll be Sam.

I believe that Sam will somehow convince Dean and he will do the trials. I think that s the emotional talk they will have and I don't believe it'll ruin their relationship this time. My bet it's the opposite. I'm hopeful.

  17. That's my #1 wish. I don't understand why they started this. Eve, bad Cas, Leviathans, and this year's tablets are all rich enough for plenty of connections in most episodes. It's like they got lazy. Or maybe it really is quality of writers.
I notice the new writers are all more interested in their own ideas and characters than writing for the established ones. Like Garth, Charlie, Kevin, etc, and the one-shot plots they serve. SPN & the brothers become the backdrop, but the stories can be on any other supernatural based show, like Being Human, Grimm, even TVD. They have little that distinguishes them as "only can be for SPN."

  18. You know what? I'm f*cking tired to read about fans complaining about every thing... EVERYTHING! EVERITHING IS WRONG FOR YOU?! I think as a personal fact that Carver has the right course to the show. I read crap from fans after every show. And I then you can read somhtings like: "oh... that was awesome! we never expected something like that!" Carver is a such amazing showrunner. I'll trust him. and I think season 8 is the the best in a long time. The hamburguer stuff? Probably could be a secondary effect of something wrong it's happening to Sam...

  19. Finally a voice of reason, thank you Manu. One wonders why those who complain all along even bother to watch.....wait....to complain in public? LOL

Dean got it right: There's actually fans. Not many of them, but still. For fans, they sure do complain a lot.

So let' just ignore the haters, and enjoy Supernatural finally back on track.
After the last 2 medicore seasons, Carver is amazing what he does with a show in it's 8th year on air.

I like it, the quotes are so good that there will be season 9, so there seems to be more fans out there then haters still. :)

  20. Thanks to you. But I must say that is not the complain what bother me. Everybody have the right to say what what they think. And if you dislikes Carver somehow, well it's good you can talk about that. But is every week the same situation: "oh Craver is a fool... he doesn't care about the brother relationship... blah blah blah" and the the episode comes to air and you read: "oh... such a great episode... I cried a lot... was wonderfull..." Hey! don't you think that Carver is behind that, too? You can't blame fans for leave the show. A good showrunner have to catch the fandom, make them fall in love and keep them. You'll never can get everybody happy. But the show must grow. The characters must grow. But you have people that for one reason had think that's this is a show about two bros inside an Impala. And that they always have to sacrifice themself one for each other. And they must always act in the same way. And people change. And don't blame Carver for the boys distance, because that distance used to be the key of season 4 and 5. Remember? I'm not go much further because this is an neverendig discussion and my rusty english don't let me explain me as well as I wish.

  21. I agree everybody has the right to express their feelings about the show, that goes without saying.

What I find strange beyond measure that some fans seem to think Carver owes them anything, because they are fans since [insert pilot, or any seasons ]. No, he doesn't owe the fandom anything. He was hired to do a job and that's what he does.

Why exactly should Carver listen to those "never-ever-happy-know-it-all-better-then-the-showrunner-voices" on the internet? He is smarter than that, and the ratings indicate he is on the right path.
