My actual favorite is the previouslies but since those aren't scenes, I voted for Henry busting the Impala's windows and then Dean busting Henry for it. Still getting all that classic Supernatural in the previouslies was a balm to my troubled heart. I especially loved that they brought back the family business line from season 1.
I had a hard time picking one. I went for when Henry died. I loved how the boys held his hands and his making it important that as long as Winchesters lived there was hope. WoW
It's not easy for me to pick a favourite scene for there is a lot to digest in this episode and I've only seen it once.
I will say however that it's the first episode of this season that I am looking forward to re-watching .The first ten episodes are in 'no-rewatch land' for me and if I never see them again I won't care.
I would re-watch the Larp episode but only because we finally saw the brothers smile and be slightly good with each other after all the previous artificial brother-hating.

So for the moment I'm going to go with Henry's death scene, death which came as no surprise and violating previous continuity, but 'no-big', for much worse things have been done this season.
Anyway I loved how Henry took both brothers' hands in his own at the end.

However Henry sure knew a lot of 'witchy' spells and stuff for a cultured man; he could even do a Houdini and get out of handcuffs, then disappearing!

I didn't really agree with the concept of brawn and brain coming together. Obviously Henry was referring to the Winchester line being the brains and so the Campbell line was the brawn, but even although they were hunters the Campbells didn't come over as stupid to me and if anything John was certainly one brawny hunter!

Both Sam and Dean have the brains and the brawn and I would like for Dean to be shown more intelligent instead of how he's usually superficially portrayed and although Sam is supposed to be the more empathic, brainy and gentle of the two, he's just as kick -ass a hunter as Dean is and I'm fed up with him being thown to a wall, strangled or held back by living armour just to keep him out of the way.
X I love it when the brother's are back-to- back fighting off all-comers, something that happened often in the earlier seasons when they were still written as a team and not as separate 'mature' individuals!
No. I am very up in the air about this episode. I've only seen it twice thus far instead of the normal 4 so I'll be more certain of my feelings after rewatching and doing the podcast tonight.
I thought the best scene was the carving of the devil's trap on the bullit because that was a eureka moment that was so cool - realizing why Abbadon was trapped in her body and the fulfillment of the plan.
I can't pick a favorite scene, I enjoyed the whole ep, the brothers are working together, I loved Henry(hated he died). Wonder when Dean had time to fix Baby's window, was happy the ep did not mess up anything we already knew. If I had to pick a scene it would be the talk about family, since that is what the series is supposed to be about. Hint, what is wrong with Sam??? Dang my soap box is getting a lot of use this season. lol
NOTE: Name-calling, personal attacks, spamming, excessive self-promotion, condescending pomposity, general assiness, racism, sexism, any-other-ism, homophobia, acrophobia, and destructive (versus constructive) criticism will get you BANNED from the party.

ReplyDeleteThe carving of the Devil's Trap in the top of the bullet. Made me wonder what would happen if they did it during a colonoscopy.

Does that mean you didn't like the rest of the episode?
ReplyDeleteThis episode reminded me just how bad the previous two seasons were
