Crazy Ones - Casting News - Sarah Michelle Gellar cast

Crazy Ones is bringing in a ringer.

Sarah Michelle Gellar has joined David E. Kelley’s CBS comedy pilot, our sister site Deadline reports.

Crazy Ones, from David E. Kelley (Ally McBeal), is a father/daughter workplace comedy set in the world of advertising. Mork & Mindy alum Robin Williams will play Gellar’s character’s dad, and Political Animals‘ James Wolk has signed on as an office hottie (and potential love interest?).

  1. Yes! I am so in and it sounds miles better than Ringer, tbh. Plus, it'd be interesting to see Sarah in a comedy (Also, I deleted the old post because the Deadline and TVLine articles disappeared for a bit).

  5. GREAT CASTING CHOICE! Robin Williams + SMG + James Wolk + David E. Kelley sounds like this can be an amazing sitcom! CBS also has quality comedy pilots in The McCarthy's, starring Jack McGee, Jacki Weaver as well as Greg Garcia's Super Clyde after Rupert Grint signed on to star. They have a diverse batch of comedy pilots this season - a lot of which I cannot see them passing up on. A expansion of their current comedy block is definitely imminent.

  6. Holy crappola! I had read that she wanted to do a comedy, wasn't she involved in another project. Regardless, this cast and creator combo sounds flawless!

    So freaking excited!

  7. I think CBS will expand their comedy hours... They just have too many promising comedy pilots this season to pick up solely one.

  8. Sarah Michelle Gellar will be probably in CBS and Alyson Hannigan is in CBS ... GREAT ! BUFFY !

  9. Interesting casting choices. I will always try SMG's new stuff and hope I like it better than Ringer. Here's wishing her success. Plus a comedy with Robin Williams would always get a look from me.
