ABC has cracked “The Case of the Missing Castle Episode” and extended the crime drama’s fifth season by one, to a total of 24 episodes.

    ABC already gave one additional episode (up to 23) in October. So it looks like they want one more episode in s.5.

    It's funny, because now it's a really good news: "Yay! 11 episodes left!"... But when we are in episode 20 or like, news of the Season Finale surface and i just die waiting for it! I mean... I don't want Zombies-wannabe! I want the best drama! xD

    Do you think so? My gut tells me that later it will be announced this extra episode will be the series finale:(

    you don't extend orders for episodes to poor performing shows, a 6th season is extremely likely. But yes, we won't have the sigh of relief until we read the official annoucement.

    they didn't renew it until May last year, NF said he would be game and AM said he would be open to so that's pretty much a go. I can't see SK backing out, she knows how important this role is to her career.

    I fear for the show, the rate has plummeted since December and early January he continues to plummet to 1.8 and in my opinion the decision of ABC is to leave Marlowe time to finalize the end of the series. I really hope i'm wrong..........

    Castle ratings seriously plummeted in the second half of s. 4, IMO

    few 2.3, one 2.4 but most of the time their demo was 2.0/2.1

    in s. 5 the've lost 0.2/03 point. I still think they are safe. Few 1.8 here and there won't hurt their chances for season 6. But season 7? Yeah, that's probably not going to happen.
