Supernatural - Time Travel (part 1) - Podcast

13 Jan 2013

Today we have the first part of the time travel podcast. This is the second podcast Lilith and I ever did so it's a little rough. The episodes discussed are In the Beginning and The Song Remains the Same. While I do not like time travel in shows because it opens up a lot of potential problems, Lilith recognizes that they are a classic part of the sci-fi genre as a whole.

Note from Lilith: This is one of the first ever podcasts we recorded, so we're a little green, but I swear it's still interesting, I promise.

Disclaimer - As always the opinions on this podcast are merely Lilith and/or Dahne's opinions. They do not reflect the fandom as a whole or SpoilerTV.

  1. I'm really not a fan of time travel. Once you introduce it, you can basically go back and undo anything in a show you want, especially if so many people have the power to do so.

  3. Ha! This Lilith is not evil like Supernatural's Lilith. I'm pretty sure she hasn't killed anyone. :-P

  4. ah but make sure you always have salt and a knife with you for protection, i dont think dean and sam can come out of the screen and save your life

  5. Oh if only they could. I was once watching Supernatural and my door opened by itself. Scared me half to death.

  6. ah but in your opinion in this season finale do you think they will use the same song in the road so far, the wayword son , they have used it in many seasons and i dont want that song to go away?

  7. I am not 100% sure of much in Supernatural but these 2 things I do know. 1. The show has to include both Dean and Sam to exist. 2. We will hear Carry on Wayward Son every year. There has only been one season finale where we did not hear it. That was season 1 and only because it was played in the episode before the finale. Unless something goes completely wacky with the music rights, Kansas will play us through the Road So Far in episode 23. The more interesting question to me is which song will play during the Road So Far in Wednesday's episode. Anybody have any guesses?

  9. There should be. We usually get them at least twice a year. One at the midseason premiere and one in the finale.

  11. I've never seen SPN as a sci-fi series, definitely more straight horror. So it was really strange when time travel wasn't just introduced into the show but brought back as a plot device time and time (no pun intended) again.

i agree . It is fun but to me it takes it away from the story and like you say can change whatver they want to

  13. I was shocked that they expanded the angel powers to include time travel because that opened so many possible do-overs. For the most part I like alternate world and future world sci fi far more than time travel because they can never tie up all time travel loose ends. They then bug me and take away from whatever I'm watching. I'm hoping that after this season we can drop time travel from SPN.

  14. Sometimes time travel can be just for pure fun but then my logical side takes over and I get bogged down into the details time travel glosses over. Future cosmic do-overs are just the first problem.
