    Surprised Dean got H.G. Wells correct. I'm assuming there is another group out there stronger than hunters and maybe practicing the mystic arts.



    Is it too much to hope Henry can give the boys a nugget to help in the quest?

    I'm beginning to look more and more forward to this episode. I trust Carver to bring the mythology home - he will have done his homework! I'm really excited to learn more about the Winchesters. His "hunters are apes" comment makes me think he is more of an "intellectual" hunter - like Sam. Maybe that's where John got his dislike for higher education from....

    Hey Carver - you assaulted your own continuity since, you know, YOU WROTE "IN THE BEGINNING" and wrote the line that John had just seen his father... So now you're retconning John's history, and John is abandoned as a kid. Get your freaking act together.
    Remember whwen SPN used to be awesome at continuity? Maybe they retconned that too.

    Well what with the ' hunters are apes', abandoning John as a kid and not to mention doing something to the Impala I am guessing Henry will not be bonding with Dean any time soon so maybe you will get Sam and Grandpa time to flesh Sam out this season outside mooning over dippy vet.

    He could have abandoned John when John was young, but reappeared around the time John went to Vietnam. Or, his mother could have remarried and he called his stepfather his father.

    How about watching the whole episode before freaking out? Henry is coming from the 40s and we saw John in the 70s. Lot of time for Henry to go back in his timeline, reconnect and all.

    Amelia was many things but dippy wasnt one of them. As for the rest you assume alot and I doubt that Dean would be deprived of moments with Henry and even if there was a off chance he bonds with Sam then there is no grounds for anybody to resent that considering the bonding relationships Dean has had.


    The Amelia sl may of been rotten but I would no more accuse Sam of mooning over her which he didnt than I would call Lisa the dippy housewife with her obnixous son who Dean mooned over.

    John didn't have a dislike of higher education - he and Mary did have college funds for their sons. John just didn't want Sam away from him where he couldn't protect him once he found out about the hunting world.

    I'd accept that, if he returned in time to really be a father to John. I hate retcons more than any other thing in TV, especially when a show lived and breathed its best years doing it brilliantly.
    I'm stink-eyeing Carver and Glass like crazy. John is Holy Grail stuff to me. He pre-dates the post-caca stuff.
