Asylum. Personally I found one of the early themes on asylum, extremisms in science versus extremisms in religion, to be very interesting. Also adding Sarah Paulson, Lily Rabe, and James Cromwell really elevated the acting which is surprising considering the acting in season 1 was great.
(I haven't seen the finale yet) but I'd go with Season 1. This season was different (darker) and I really like it but the first season just amazed me by incredible twists and the whole story was more creepy/horror/mystery. S2 wasn't that much scary. In S1 I loved Constance, Moira (both), Violet, Nora and Billie Dean In S2 I loved only Jude and Mary Eunice. Lana was weird, but I like her as well as Kit. Arden was also kinda cool. So for me the 1st season was better ;-)
season 1 hands down, the story was easier to follow and I loved the characters Season two was too complex.. making it hard to follow and then the whole Aliens thing went nowhere...I think he tried to a lot of "shock" value to the second season and it did not really help IMO. still I liked the ending season 2 got but over all season 1 for me.
Season 2 by a slight margin. I will say that season 1 had me scared out of my wits so I needed the light on to sleep. The one with the fellow from Modern Family saying "Here, Piggy Piggy" totally did me in. Season 2 wasn't so scary, but quite good. A bit more cohesive maybe. Excellent writing and acting in both seasons, but I think the actors had more of a chance to show their craft in season 2.
My vote goes for season 2. I have not seen the finale yet, but overall I have liked it better than Season 1. Still love Season 1 of course, but the plot lines have been more interesting to me this year.
Season 1 by far. I would have picked Season 2 if it didn't have aliens. I think this season suffered from a lack of clear focus. Aliens? Nazis? Serial Killers? Zombish Things? Insanity/Psychological Horror? Demonic Posessions? That could have been 6 years worth of story, but instead it was mishmashed and didn't feel "right." It could have been tied up nicely if the entire season was in someone's head or something, but unfortunately, not the case. I would have gotten rid of the aliens, which to me, seem the least fitting of the bunch. That and the demon.
NOTE: Name-calling, personal attacks, spamming, excessive self-promotion, condescending pomposity, general assiness, racism, sexism, any-other-ism, homophobia, acrophobia, and destructive (versus constructive) criticism will get you BANNED from the party.
Season one. I found it more compelling than season 2 for some reason.
ReplyDeleteOh, this is hard to choose. I loved both seasons! Season two's finale was better than the first season finale, though.
ReplyDeleteI can't decide!

ReplyDeleteSeason 2, no doubt. It was mind-blowing the all way, and unlike season 1, it was FULL of complications, chemistry, tragedy, compassion, depth, HORROR.
