Person Of Interest - Updated Character Relationship Chart

25 Jan 2013

Sadly, there was no new Person Of Interest episode to keep us entertained this week. But to help alleviate the depression that creeps up in the final week of a three week hiatus, here's the updated Character Relationship Chart!!

The updates to the chart this week include some changes in the past and present tense in the wake of Agent Donnelly being eliminated by Kara Stanton. Boy, this storyline is getting interesting!!

In addition, Pennsylvania 2's hired fixer/assassin, Hersh, is now on the chart in the wake of his attempted murder of Reese in prison. I wonder how Hersh will escape, because it seems like it's not if, but when, that will happen. The exact same goes for Carl Elias too - he has the whole prison under his control, it seems.

The chart now has a scary 2949 words, and 111 arrows on it. I've also changed the background image used on the chart, for a chance of scenery.

The chart is available to view on my website, www.seriesmonitor.com. Click here to go directly to the page on my website where you can view it

As always, discussion is most welcome in the comments below! I'm counting down the seconds for next week's episode - it looks like an absolute blinder!

  1. On there it says that Snow showed Carter his bomb vest in S01E07. You might want to fix that. More importantly, you make no mention of Bear, an important addition to the cast this year :)

  2. Great spotting, that error will be fixed the next time I update the chart. And I've been wanting to add Bear, but there's just no room for him!!

  3. Hey Jimmy, great job with the chart. It really helps as a reference guide when I forget something. I have a question for you. Could you make a more printer friendly version of it? I'm trying to make and print out a version of it for my parents, who don't remember the details nearly as well as we TV fans do. Because the image is so zoomed in (or whatever the right term is, I have to zoom in on it in Firefox to see anything clearly enough to read it), I've had to crop it into 4 squares, enlarge each one, print each enlarged version, and then staple it all together. I would love to have an easier way of printing it out on 1 page or something without having to go through that process. Thanks.

  4. @facebook-100002214578526:disqus You're not the first one to ask me this question. I make the chart in Microsoft Word, then take it into Photoshop to add the background image and watermark, then save it for the web.

The problem is that the Word document - despite having such small text - is about 50cm by 40cm in 100% scale. Any smaller and the text would be unreadable. The simple answer is no, I don't think it would be possible to print the chart on a single A4 page, or and A3 page for that matter.

What I might do is put a better quality image on my website. I always face the battle of file size over resolution because of the sheer size of the chart. So I could put a better quality version of the chart up, but the file size will be pretty large and hard to deal with on a computer. Hope that helps answer your question. Thanks :-)

  5. Thanks for the reply. I understand your dilemma. It's like typing a 10 paragraph essay and trying to fit all 10 paragraphs on 1 printed page: doesn't fit unless you make it really small, but if you do that it's unreadable. I'm using Photo Gallery to crop it and Word to enlarge it lol. Do you know how big the file would be if you were to increase the resolution enough to read it on a single page? You might be able to compress it via WinZip or WinRAR for uploading it. Most people have one of those 2 programs on their computers and could decompress it. And if the file size isn't too crazy big, you could just straight upload it. For now, I don't know how many other people are cropping it like I am, but maybe you could adjust the layout of the chart so that it would be easy to crop without having to crop it in the middle of boxes of text and pictures of characters and therefore cutting things off. Thanks.

I also don't want people copying and editing the chart and claiming it as their own, therefore that's a disincentive to making a high quality version available

  7. Next time I'll up the resolution slightly so printing the chart might be slightly better, but that's all I'm prepared to do because I really don't want it nicked and plagiarized.

  8. Why isn't there a relationship line between Agent Snow and Alicia Corwin? We see in flashbacks that they know each other and were both present when Reese and Cara got their orders to go to Ordos.

    :)
    keep it up.
