  1. I kind of feel like it's time to call it quits, but I don't really want to judge it until I actually see what season 8 is like...

  2. I'm really disappointed. Despite the fact that I love the show very much, there are times when the channel's presidents need to say goodbye to their big shows. Dexter set everything for a finale season, and pushing harder towards another season just will make the ending a feeling of unnecessary extension. I think this amazing show deserves a proper and satisfying ending, which eighth and final season can deliver.

  3. I'd love to see another season of Dexter. But you do have a point. S6 was set that way
(also was S7), that S8 would be the last.
But on the other side, the writers and producers are doing a good job. They could manage to deliver a good S8 and S9 with a proper ending.

  4. Well, there will always be candidates for Dexters table. Theoretically they could make Dexter for the next 40 years. So, yes, I'd like another season, please.

  5. God no. It shouldn't have even gone this far. This is what happens when shows get big and go on too long. They get drawn out and lose their luster and quality. Dexter should have ended already if not this coming season. No way in hell should it get a 9th. I love the show but it has lost a lot of what it used to be.

  6. They are doing a poor job compared to what season 1-4 were. 5 was ok. 6 had a good premise but was poorly poorly executed. Terrible season by a long shot. 7 sort of redeemed it again but wasn't quite up to par. It needs to have a definitive end that does it justice and not drawn out through 12 more episodes of filler.

  7. True Dexter fans are the people who wish a s9 & s10 renewal for the show.

  8. I loved all seasons, including 5 and 6 (beside this religious thing it was good. Michael and Jen did very well. And I was positively surprised with Collins performance. Brilliant. Also this "End of the world" thing was creepy and gave a good contrast to sunny Miami. And Travis killings were a piece of art. Something we didn't had since Brian S1)

Well, they did promised to end the story properly (I just hope it doesn't mean, they'll kill Dex). If it's S8 or S9, I don't think it matters. As I said, I trust the producers and writers. They know what they do. If the show is extended for another season, I'm confident it won't be a filler.
They will probably make a few concepts and see, it the network will go for it.

  9. As much as I LOVE this show, I really think it should end with season 8. Actually, Debra should have found out about Dexter at the end of season 5, and continued after that.
I'm not saying season 6 sucked completely, but it was clearly a dip in quality and ultimately it didn't add anything new. Mike Anderson died. So did Louis. Batista and Quinn's partnership was dreadful to watch and there were no developments there at all. All that really changed was that Debra realized she was in love with Dexter, and I'm still not sure if I should be happy with that. :p

  10. 5 was bad. 6 was okay, made better by the finale. Let this show die a dignified death.

  11. You actually named yourself NoSeason9?

I liked season 5. Dealing with Ritas death and staying alone with a baby was a big challenge (emotionally) for Dexter.

Of all his girlfriends I liked Lumen best. She wasn't as hot as Lila or Hannah, but she wasn't a psycho (like Lila or Hannah). She gave him something he never had before: hope. She saw him for what he was and she accepted him without fear or seeing him as a monster. She accepted him in a way no one else did (except Hannah, but she was a psycho), not even his father or sister.

After years of seeing himself as monster Dexter realized, he wasn't a monster. Not like Jordan and his friends. Jordan was a great character. Manipulative, smart, cold as ice and nearly untouchable. A real challenge. And some of his friends were big deals, which made it harder to make them disappear.

I really don't get why people didn't like S5. Maybe it was this whole "helping Lumen get revenge" thing. Not very serial-killer-like. But Dex was never a normal serial killer. And he admitted that he wants to help her to make it up for Rita. Maybe it's that.

I don't know. Why you didn't like it?

  12. I am surprised Dexter has made it this long. I haven't seen Showtime have a show last this long past 6 seasons (then again, I have only watched Nurse Jackie and The L Word *which was a HORRIBLE ending*) but with Deb finding out about him at the end of season 6, I cannot imagine how Dexter can last past another season. Deb is at the end of her chain mentally and Dexter is doing more emotional kills to me that don't fit Harry's Code. I liked how Deb fell in love with Dexter even though I was of the mind that maybe the dear old LT batter for the other team (at the time and kind of wish still).

I also was one of the few who loved Season 5. I mean, he did emotional kills to help with Lumen but Chase deserved it just as much. I liked Season 6 too even though I thought him helping Travis was ridiculous (it was too much like S5 for me to like. They made up for it with Deb being in love with Dexter and her finding out). It kind of rang with Season 1 and the Ice Truck Killer and I longed for those days.

If they don't end it after this season, I believe it is going to end with Deb in the slammer if Dex won't sacrifice himself for Deb. I am at a loss of how they are going to explain away Deb using her service weapon for killing LaGuerta but then again, this is Dexter we are talking about.

  13. I thought it had been renewed for the two seasons (7 & 8) under the provision they would be its last, and a story would span both seasons to end it all?

  14. As muck as I love Dexter, S8 must be the last. Don't let the show die cancelled after a hundred seasons because people is bored of it. Be clever than that and end it before it's too late.

  15. My thoughts on the continuation for Dexter......Showtime Micheal C Hall..DO IT!!! This show is so fantastically done with a superior cast. I want at least two more seasons of head scratching pulse pounding OHHHH NOOOO Dexter don't get caught action. I want Deb in the thick of it....they can be the Dynamic Duo of Miami Metro and clean up the streets...go back to the earlier seasons only now he has Deb to talk to instead of Dad. Please at least give us 1 season of dynamic duo ...before you probably kill or institutionalize Dexter and Deb at this point or kill Dexter....I need more Dex and Deb time......find away to tie up Laguertas murder and let's get back to the early days....let Angel have his restuarant...let Masuka be Masuka....let Quinn be Quinn.......but Dex and Deb now we can have some..hey maybe Angel can come back because he is offered the position of Captain.
